One of the teas I chose to read Binding 13 is because of its thickness (lately I’m into thick books) and because of its reviews…I was not disappointed at all. It’s follow up book Keeping 13 was so amazing… I love Johnny and Shannon. On Valentines Day there will be a third book in the series about Shannon brother Joey (who I love) and am glad he gets his own story.

I disagree with binding 13. Shannon was emotionally and physically abused. she’s scared to open up out of fear that she will be hurt. so her stuttering and not talking in complete sentences is her being traumatized because of her bullying and abuse that she experienced. she does get better in the second book since Johnny is always there for her❤
I haven’t read binding or keeping but I loved watching your dramatic reaction because we can all relate! We’ve all read a book that left us like that so I feel seen 😆

Growing up, I spent a lot of time at my "Aunt" Shannon's house. She was married to an Irish dude named Johnny.
Anyway, turned out he had a whole other family back in Ireland.
Let me know if that's the twist in book 2. 😅
I started with A Part of Your World and now I've read Abby Jimenez's other books and they're all just SO good. Def one of my fav new romance authors!

I just finished By A Thread and LOVED it!!! I wasn’t expecting to love it so much, it tops Things We Never Got Over for me. There were just so many great scenes: the strip club, Dominic drunk and Ally taking him home (my personal favorite😂).
Binding 13 is legit the most boring and uninteresting book I’ve read.
I've read By A Thread and personally that book was not my favorite. I don't like grumpy sunshine a lot so that definitely has something to do with it. But from what I remember the FMC was always begging the guy for attention, sexual wise, and I just didn't like that. Also, MMC got annoying a lot for me. He was just too grumpy so it got tiring. Overall, I gave the book a 3/5. Not my favorite. That book was also the only book that I didn't care about breaking the spine hahahaha. I am typically very careful with my books but because I didn't like this one I didn't care.

Okay so Part of Your World is one of my FAVORITE romance books, I just love how abby Jimenez develops her characters. And I can see where the frustration towards the middle of the book comes from, But I think for this one it’s because the dad situation was so relatable, like too real at times- toxic dads that value your achievements over your happiness and a mom that enables them, hit a little close to home so I just felt so much love for the these main characters. So glad you read it!
I totally agree!!! I liked that she included that part! I just got a bit bored of reading it sometimes

I am currently reading and Binding 13 and like you I kind of regret getting into it it’s very slow burn. However I do like the characters so I’m gonna keep going. I’m interested to know what you think of the next book. I hope you post about it. I’m listening to the audio and I highly recommend it because both characters have Irish accent, which I think helps with following the story and the enjoyment of the story I got all books in the series on my hoopla so anyway, I highly recommend the audio version. You may enjoy it better that way.

I didn't enjoy Binding 13 for the exact same reasons as you but let me tell you that Keeping 13 is so much better and you get the needed closure for the first one right at the beginning of the second so that's great 😂
Thank you for being honest about binding 13. And like saying exactly what you didn’t like without just trashing the books. With so many book recommendation it’s hard to get one lately when everyone constantly raves about the same books over and over. Then you get disappointed while reading and sit there like what’s the hype. And I try to understand that yes maybe it’s different taste but then it’s hard to trust and figure out what to read based on that overhype.
ahhh sara this video was so so fun to watch! romance books are 100% my faves (currently reading "Archer's Voice" and LOVING it) and this video made me even more excited for future reads and your videos! always luv how real your opinions are and your energyyyy!! felt that part of frustration and also smiling while reading cute moments like AH luv luv luv!!

gasps, I really enjoyed binding 13. i loved shannon and johnny. i feel like their love story was amazing, but yes the romance is more in the second book and damn was i so happy that i bought the boys of tommen series! ❤

i agree with binding 13, it wasn’t my fave but i really enjoyed the gibsie moments and some scenes near the end. although i ended up loving keeping 13, it was way better!!

k, no but why did it feel like I was one of the only people that didn't like binding 13...it could've been 300 pages shorter and was almost painful to get through because it felt like nothing was happening yet so much unnecessary drama and miscommunication at the same time. also, some of the things that Johnny and Gibsie would say made my body recoil and cringe so hard. Johnny's great don't get me wrong but sometimes I wanted to slap him silly AND Shannon for just not SPEAKING. ugh. Shannon is 15 and it definitely felt like it, I know that she says "she's not like other girls" and she's been through a lot but come on, the immaturity and lack of communication between everyone in this book was almost unbearable. I still gave it 3 stars, Gibsie was absolutely the saving grace for me reading this book, he's friggin hilarious and I totally hurt for Shannon, I just wanted to give her a hug 😭all of that being said, I'm about halfway through keeping 13 and it's SO much better. also, I'm not sure if that was mochi wearing the sweater, but GET OUT OF HERE, SO FREAKING ADORABLE. *SPOILER BELOW*
anyway, just the fact that we had to wait for almost 600 pages for Johnny and Shannon to even admit to liking each other made me want to scream 🤩

You could do a week reading fantasy (or YA fantasy), or even do something you read less of like historical fiction or nonfiction. I also can’t remember if you’ve done this, but you could do a week reading books out of your comfort zone, and then if you find any genres you love, do a week reading from that genre.

I really really did not enjoy Binding 13, I was so incredibly bored and literally nothing happened, and I was fuming at the thought of having to read keeping 13 to see any kind of relationship? I was equally frustrated, and I'm so relieved that I have finally seen someone feel the same.

i listened to the flatshare on audiobook with libby and ADORED it but i think if i had read it i wouldnt have felt as connected. i think its just a book that the audiobook makes it WAY better. definitely recommend. (commenting this before i finish the video so if you do end up reading it in the video so sorry haha)

Lucy score I think it too me awhile to like that book where her other one grabbed me from the beginning so by the thread got a lower rating I saw another one of her’s that is up on netgalley the sequel of the other one you can only wish for not request yet but the book you can request already is out which I had when they do that because it’s more a rush to get it read and reviewed. I’ll let you know the title. The title is Forever Never. Part of me wants to request it.

wow I loved the video sm. The fact that u finished binding 13 and gave 3 stars was too much lol. I hated the book, it wasn't for me💀 If this was a college setting I would definitely have another opinion and maybe I wouldn't hate sm, for me the way the author told the story about 2 minors still in high school it was so unrealistic ??? like don't give me wrong the trauma of shannon could happen to anyone, but the school scenes gave me ick ngl (the first scene when johnny meets shannon, and she was "naked" after the accident with the rugby ball????) The whole Johnny's plot was terrible for me😭😭😭 anyway that's my opinion, but I agree in so many aspects that you mentioned on the video.
No I actually totally agree with you I think I just gave it the benefit of the doubt bc it was entertaining enough for me at the end of it. But yea 😭 that part of the accident AND how gibsie got Shannon’s files were just 😃
