It takes two guys, on the clock, to drive back to the yard for a hammer? When there is work to do? And then get called out on unfinished tasks later that involved the hammer? Pushing it in 99.9% of construction trades.
This. Leave one guy there and continue to sweep while the other goes and gets what they forgot. Bad enough they were told prior to leaving exactly what they needed, to have both of them killing time driving around is wild. Finding good help is incredibly difficult

everytime the guys do something like leave the plow up or a window down you should take a picture and send it to them. I had a boss who always did that and it really made us be super careful about checking everything at the end of the day.
