Great song, even better lyrics and Paul Rodgers is one of the most underrated singer.. What a fantastic colour of the voice he had.. All the four of them were superb musicians on the right place in the right time..
My big Friend introduced me to Rodgers and went out immediately and Got there albums and Bad Company ( Merchants of cool ) is just superb... Recorded in Denver I've Seen Roderg's Many times now and most Recently he passed through Glasgow Bonnie Scotland with his swan song tour with Bad Company..... Great Ngt... Me and my Big mate Broony just get Rogered out our heads all the time...
@@Clash_CT_Rocker69 I've just driven back from Edinburgh to Glasgow with the merchants of cool on very loud.... My big SAAB just Rocks all the way home... Rock on Bro x Peace and Love from Scotland Mario, 😎😎😎
@@Clash_CT_Rocker69 tks for tis share. Just got shivers all over me listening agn to FREE after what they hve left behind for us all . Each member brought their something to the table and still able to make their own individual sound as distinct as possible if the other parts & sounds are stripped away . Rogers swaggering with all his soulfully bluesy vocals with along all his well timed dictions phrasings moans cries laughters & all other antics thrown in his way stylishly. Kirke with all the cracks & pops he coaxed out frm rim shooting all his snares.. Noted his chops audibly on vinyls & cassettes esp on Live... Isle of Wight. And agn notably his rim shots sounds to hve evoled to the highest level when those first few early Bad Co. albums rolled out in succession one after another one till their then most polished sleekyish Desolation Angels to sound and look good in the corporate sense. But it's still anytime for me Free on my toppest likes as I've been fortunate FREE has oredi own me erly b4 I was a teen. Oh not to forget the man himself P. Kossoff wen he sustained his longish single tone of emotional rescue that had reach & cut hearts in his piercing kind of expression Rodger's strong and soulful vocals and his phrasings brewed dictions is so in the pocket that shot out from his lungs . His voice literally makes me cry. I just heard this song tunite in a movie and had to look it up. You're right about him being underrated, I've loved him from the first album.
Tune ! I always loved the mouthfuls of glass etc the wee hippie obscure ones .My favourite band ever. Great post .Going for a bit of broad day light after this
Will Hoey yes, that for sure. They were kids when they recorded tons of sobs! Koss was god, but jimi was the godfather then! Do you know Greta van Fleet? They got a similar chemistry like the early Free!
WOW!......Iv,e just searched GRETA VAN FLEET and the first track i clicked on is a Chicago club gig...........superb !!!!..........bit of ROBERT PLANT in the vocals for sure.......brilliant thanks MW !.....WHAT A GREAT BAND....
That's amazing!Than Dżem in Poland, where vocallist was Ryszard Riedel, who has been klled by drugs in 30 July 1994-the most famous polish bluesman and rockman.Than TSA,also in Poland, where vocalist is Marek Piekarczyk, and Turbo, where vocalist was Grzegorz Kupczyk. That songs, than ,,List do M"(Letter to M.)-by Dżem, ,,51"-by TSA,and ,,Dorosłe Dzieci"(,,The Adult Children") and ,,Kawaleria Szatana I" and II(,,Satan's Cavalry I" and II,by Turbo) was the greatest hits of 80's and 90's in Poland.
As wonderful as this sounds, I really can't figure out why they cut that spine tingling note at the beginning of the Paul Kossoff solo at 2:11? It is a bit like blacking out the eyes of the Mona Lisa! You really must listen to the full version from the 'Heartbreaker' album.
Know what you mean man, but this is an alternative mix and I’m digging the different nuances but for longevity the original was the best. Free understated and cool.
Didn't the original version of this song has Paul making a mistake at the start of his solo but they kept it in and on the remastered version the mistake was taken out
@@donjohn2695 If that was a 'mistake' then it shows just how good he was. The start of that solo features the most spine-tingling, soulful guitar notes that I have ever heard.
@@portcullis5622 I agree kossoff was just magnificent just by playing a few notes was spine tingling I don't think anyone has had that effect playing a Gibson Les Paul apart from Peter green

My best school friend sister, Sandy was engaged to Paul, I was lucky enough to browse her vinyl collection..❤🇬🇧
If this doesn't crack you up nothing will, i'm 55 now and this takes me right back to my teens
If only the world could come together like this band did, I like many bands, for different reasons, But Free had something Special.
Одна из их лучших песен.
