  • Having slept on this beautiful meadow we set out the next day to the waterfall using a different (longer) route. This went all good. This track started to follow the river at some stage. We also saw the point where we would have exited the day before. When we checked it out we thought the river was indeed too strong/deep. The trees/bushes on either side would have also added to the scratches the truck already has. Further, the section of track through the forest just before the river looked challenging. We continued and at some point the track crossed the river. Some concrete elements of this “bridge” were washed away and the main track was just wide enough for a car. We inspected it and saw that its foundation had washed out quite deeply. We weight some 12-13 tonne and are quite wide. We decided to not continue here, both for ourselves but also for the farmer further up the track (should we wreck the bridge). We found a lovely campspot nearby and decided to hike to the waterfall. The main route started on the other side of the river. The track later crossed the river again (knee deep). We decided to go back to “our” side of the river and find a way to the track without crossing the river twice. That worked! Unfortunately, the waterfall was already in the shade. We came back the next morning to see it in its full glory. This is a beautiful part of Armenia. We stayed a day longer before we headed out again. In the area we saw a number of interesting machines with “chimneys”. Hip hip hurray for Google Lens to tell us that these are part of a hail suppression system. We had never seen these before.
