Because of this video and your recommendation, I did this tour!! The falls, swim, views and trails are even better in person than on camera!! The tour guide (Taro) was awesome!!! This was sooooo worth the $$$$. If anybody watching this video is on the fence of doing this tour or not doing it, DO IT!! Thank you Jordan and Erica for this!!!! Oh yeah . . . I made sure to follow Rule #1!

I have a few questions- it looks wonderful but why is it such a long day? it says 7-8 hours but the hike is 1-2 is it a long car ride? once you hike to the destination can you explore/swim on your own without the group?
It is an hour or so car ride plus some resort pickups. the tour is the majority of the day. Hike, multiple swims, and then a short drive to the picnic location. It all adds up for a full day out. You can't explore on our own but you can distance yourself from the group as you're out in the forest
Thank you for this video. I really enjoyed it. I have a totally random question. From some thing I saw on one of your other videos. We are planning a trip for next April 2024. We have narrowed it down to two islands - big island and kauai. We want to start morning 1 with a sunset whale watching tour which is something you recommended. Can you recommend a company? Which island would be better for this?
Thanks for watching! We've noticed only Maui offers whale watching tours into April (it depends on the whale migration numbers). Big Island and Kauai stop tours by mid to late March. Ultimate whale watch has a great sunrise tour, use promo code HVG10 to save 10%
My friend and I wanted to see Maui for 1 day. We flew from Waimea on Mokulele Airlines to OGG. They flew at sunrise, we saw the sunrise over Haleakala. Hey, if you can't get a permit... But we drove the road to Hana, saw the red sand beach and then hiked Pipiwai, and circled around to drive to the peak of Haleakala. Did that all in 11 hours. Any other day itineraries for people that want to see Maui but just don't care about the resort beach lifestyle?
Aloha, with lava eruption recently in big island, do you recommend visitors come to watch or wait a while? How long maybe the lava last?? Want to go but a little nercous
Mitch, the mayor of the County of Hawaii, has welcomed visitors over to watch the eruption. It is a slow eruption at this time. Past eruptions have lasted a few weeks so we shall see. See our article for safety info and other tips: thehawaiivacationguide.com/mauna-loa-eruption-2022/
I don't imagine there is. A lot of folks setup sun canopies on the beaches in Hawaii. Clean up the area, don't be too loud, and everyone will be happy. Have a great trip!
Aloha! Hope you guys are staying safe and sound! What's the latest on the big island, any evacuations? How's Maui and can you please send me about 25 boxes of Holey Grail donuts from Hanalei bay ;)
haha, you know how expensive those 25 boxes of donuts are? But totally worth it. I heard they are opening a store/truck in LA this year. The lava has slowed down but Saddle Road is still at threat of closure. See our article here for info: thehawaiivacationguide.com/mauna-loa-eruption-2022/
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide awesome thanks for the update! You are in Maui most of the time right? Do you like Southwest or Alaska or Hawaiian the best when flying back to the mainland?

We are currently on the Big Island. Can’t wait to come back and explore some more.
I hope you got to get a good view of the eruption! Come on back for some waterfall swims!
Do we have to go with a guide on that hike or can we go on our own?
Thanks guys, you're the best!
Something to do on my next Big Island trip! There is always more to do on the Big Island.
so much to do on Hawaii! We are excited to go back for whale season.
Going in 2 weeks will have to put this on the list 💯☝️✅

This hike looks really exciting! Unfortunately with the tender from NCL it would be difficult to make the 7:30am start time.

The Lavender Farm and Surfing Goat Dairy are both cool places to visit.

Nnnnnnice👏👏👏👏👍👍👍I’m debating Hawaii or Puerto Rico for Xmas break/vacation..
Those are two great options! See our Christmas planning article for some tips: thehawaiivacationguide.com/hawaii-christmas-vacation-planning/
Please do a show on the best quiet beach front resorts. I want to sleep and swim. That's it.
see our luxury resort video. You can find decent deals for the Big Island, like the Fairmont Orchid.
Cool
well said
Nice presentation!

@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide thanks a lot for info . It Wil b a very small celebration just 4-5 ballons ,a cake and 3 people :)
have a great time!
Seems like Big Island is portrayed as less fun/less to do than Maui and Oahu, but it actually looks like a beautiful island!
people are starting to explore the Big Island more. It is a wonderful place with great history.
