    You could actually scan your outdoor sculptor in the dark if you don't mind losing color textures. I did a lot of my car scanning with it in my driveway at night.

      That could work, yes. I just got a huge scanning spray "blaster" as I would call it. Definitely will try to use that ;-D

    Thanks for the great video Daniel. Got this one recently and really love the results so far. I use Substance 3D to bring things together.

    Thanks for the video, I got the RANGE today with the intention of scanning people in Cosplay and was slightly disappointed in the actual scanning range. It is still somewhat difficult to get a full body scan. I am debating whether to return it or not

    Does this style of scanner provide its own IR illumination? Can they be used without an artificial light source, for example outdoors at night or underground?

    • @Crosslink3D
      @Crosslink3D  Год назад +1

      Yes, it has its own IR lights. So it might work better at night outdoors. Artificial light will help with the texturing and of course you not stumbling over stuff :-D

    What all programs used from start to finish? Just purchased the Range.

      Since a few weeks, there is a new RevoScan, version 5, which replaces the two older programs and combines them into one program. Check out my latest video about the POP3, where I show the full workflow, also the mobile scanning included. I would just use RevoScan 5 to do the scanning and post-processing. Further editing could be done either in Blender or Fusion 360 if you need to merge scans with custom parts for example. But I am pretty happy with RevoScan 5 as my main program for most of the workflow.

    Have they fixed the issue with scanning with the mobile app where you can only scan for about 30 seconds before your phone's RAM is full?

    • @Crosslink3D
      @Crosslink3D  Год назад

      That is what I am talking about. It’s not a time limit but I had 2000 images when the RAM was full. I wish they would cache the images to disk but that might be too slow to catch up with the capturing rate. A way to regulate the number of frames per second would be great as well. I am giving that feedback to Revopoint!

    Hello. I’m might want to upgrade my 3d printer and there’s so many options and I would like to know what you would recommend. I would like a fdm printer over a resin one. So far I kinda like the Flashforge Adventurer 4 and Ender 3 s1 pro. Are those good one, or any others that would be better? My current printer is an Ender 3 v2, so I have some experience Thank you

    • @Crosslink3D
      @Crosslink3D  Год назад

      What are you currently missing, what the Ender 3 v2 cannot do for you? I am just asking because I have modded my Ender 3 v2 a lot and I never felt the urge to buy something else. Unless you don't want to mod and just want something out of the box that's better than the old one.

    I’m sorry Danial but at even a kickstarter price of over $600 is lil too pricey for my fixed income. I’m sure it’s tops at what it’s capable of. I wish you good luck with it

    • @Crosslink3D
      @Crosslink3D  Год назад +1

      I agree, it's not cheap but good tools are rather expensive. I tested the Creality Scan Ferret and will make a short video about it soon. It's half the price roughly but I am not happy with the results so far. Keep you updated with a new video soon.

    just add a 32 gig card to your android phone...

    • @Crosslink3D
      @Crosslink3D  Год назад +1

      That’s not solving the problem. It’s RAM not the flash memory that runs full. You cannot expand that on any phone. Revopoint needs to make software changes to make it capable of caching the frames to the storage to avoid filling up the RAM

    • @o1ecypher
      @o1ecypher Год назад

      @@Crosslink3D would it be possible to use the memory card as virtual RAM,? almost like my graphics card uses my computers HD as virtual VRAM... you know what i mean..
