As someone who regularly sews with a bunch of knits, swim is less of a nightmare than bamboo lycra!! For both fabrics I tend to use the washable purple Elmer's glue sticks and it works well.
I'm surprised fleece isn't up there. Thick, can have pile (things like minky), hard to make pattern marks on, and it can be messy.
I just made a coat/cardigan from fleece in practice for working with some short pile faux fur... and learned that I'm not ready to attempt the fur yet 😅
Spandex is my nemisis 😂 i had little issue with the first glove i made but the rest were disastrous
Now im buying the shorts already for a cosplay and just attaching a skirt over it to save time
Another hard to sew fabric is tissue weight jersey knit. It's thin so it slips all over the place.
Fleece makes me nervous too. Alot of people I talk to don't want to sew it
Thank for sharing this
Great tips, love this video.
Awesome video! 🎉
I use my serger on everything that stretches. Makes sewing those velvets, knits, lycra fabrics a pisacake!
Great info. How do you feel about corduroy? I have a lot of toddler overalls I'd like to cut apart and make a quilt with, but I'm not sure how it is to sew with. Thanks!
Treat corduroy like velveteen. It has a nap. Make sure all your pieces are placed in the same direction. That’s the only thing to be careful about of. It’s very nice to sew with.
It's surprisingly stretchy!
