Thanks my child’s school skirt needed stitching 🧵 and My wife use to do all the sowing but she sadly passed away on Christmas Day and this video helped me lot👍Thank you so much for this great video 👍🙏🙏🙏
I love hand sewing I have made a full outfit by hand sewing and enjoyed it so much. When you mention it is hand sown people are amazed and want to inspect your work. It’s quite funny.
I've moved into hand sewing from doing embroidery, and your catch stitch is basically a herringbone stitch but used across two parts of the fabric! Really interesting to see. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for this - and great timing - I just made a men's Renaissance style shirt and needed to hand stitch the collar on the inside (to finish) and wasn't sure which hand stitch would work well. You solved the mystery! ;D
Your back stitch trick to make back stitching faster while seemingly intuitive and apparent was a total Revelation to me thank you for including that I believe it probably just cut my time back stitching in half
A most brilliant video on hand stitches... Thanks for coloured threads to show the stitches well.. .love that nail polish of yours too...fabulous shade!. Thanks for sharing...💝💐
@Professor Pincushion • Thanks for creating chapters so we can go right to the stitch we need. Great photography really augmented the verbal description. Good job all around. 👍
The way I stitch is closest to the "catch stitch" shown here except I just go through both materials I'm sewing with loops, putting a knot in every stitch. These examples didn't cover the name unfortunately.
Thank you for a wonderful totally understandable tutorial. I'm new to sewing as I am not as mobile as I was due to a car accident. There's something about sewing that soothes and excites. Looking forward to viewing more.
Thank you so much!I came yo learn the catch stitch.I need to learn how to do it by hand because my sewing machine does not do that stitch and I want to add elastic to a bikini bottom that I make.
Love the vlog ❤ subscribed btw is there a book you can regiment that teaches hand stitching like this big as hard reference worth having in the house ? Hello and thanks from Canada 🇨🇦
Is there a way to tie off a knot every time to keep your stitch strong so that if it gets cut in the middle it still remains strong, while still keeping a continuous stitch all while maintaining the "flow" of stitching? Basically never having to cut your thread the whole time with knots in your stitch?
😢😢😢 I usually try to sew but fail !!!. Throwing the ball in a straight manner is also another problem 😭😭😞 related to being a left handed for some people like me .
Ok, maybe do you mean the needle always pokes down fro left to right? But the whole stitching is done left to right? Sorry, I always have a mental block with these things.
Under the subscribe button, there are the little options that you can slide to look through. At the end, there should be a save option and what I do is save it to watch later. Basically, putting it in a playlist.
Oh gawd, it's so haaaard! I'm trying to sew a damn Spider-Man doll, and it's frustratingly hard to do...😢 Ok, I didn't even try to be honest. Just looking at the video makes me nope out. Maybe I need sleep.
İ came here for learning stitching to do some plushies. But i dont have money for the materials 💀 Uhh so its late right now ima try to do this tomorrow.
@@lifesbanquet4501 No worries. Thank you for taking time to understand us lefties' struggles with a few sewing techniques. As long as can we appreciate each other's passion for sewing, we'll always be united! 🙂
It's easy to emulate. I learned how to do better hand stitching from professor pincushion years ago. Using my right hand but stitching in left handed direction. Just had to practice not seeing the video in my head, but seeing the process. I do a fair amount of hand sewing now instead of avoiding it like I did years ago - before professor pincushion's instructions made me much more willing as well as confident sewing by hand. Easy to imagine how dedicated professor pincushion is making these videos because she also gets back criticism instead of thanks. I have learned so much from her that has helped me more than most other sewing videos. Step by step and clearly explaining and showing the process so it doesn't matter if you are right handed, beginner, or just need reminders.
Dear Prof. Pincushion, how nice that you’re left-handed! I didn’t even notice but hurrah! and most welcome!
Is being right handed not nice?
I don’t know. I’m a leftie.
Thanks my child’s school skirt needed stitching 🧵 and My wife use to do all the sowing but she sadly passed away on Christmas Day and this video helped me lot👍Thank you so much for this great video 👍🙏🙏🙏
😢😢😢😢sorry

Courage! Comfort and God's Strength!
I'm so sorry ❤️ God bless
So sorry, stay strong. Your family is in our prayers. 😢

I'm teaching a free mending workshop at my local library and this was very helpful -- thank you Professoressa!
Oh...yes....I just noticed that you are left- handed. I have 2 children who are both left- handed...bless you all, all geniuses, rt?...👍👏😊
Oh finally someone that's left handed like me!!

You rock! Thanks for explaining the “WHY”

Very useful video, thanks to the author! Now I know exactly how to do it properly. I'll be watching your videos more!

I’m barely learning how to sew and I must say this video was an amazing resource. Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic delivery of instructions! Thanks!!
Thank you! I’m going to try fixing the hem on a favorite pair of shorts with the blind hem without getting the machine out.
Thank you so much, your details are so clear and easy to learn 🏵
Thank you soooo much, I couldn't understand how to do a blind him.

Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing!
Great information, thanks for this tutorial.
Great tutorial, thanks!
I'd like to thank my Memer for teaching me these stitches.
Great video, thanks 😊
thanks my daughter's doing it
I'm here to find if the way I've taught myself are already known methods and if so I haven't learned the names of the stitches.
The way I stitch is closest to the "catch stitch" shown here except I just go through both materials I'm sewing with loops, putting a knot in every stitch. These examples didn't cover the name unfortunately.

I immediately hit subscribe when I heard you say your left handed.

Great content. Thank you for sharing.
Hit that like button on your way in 👍
Thought you said your left handed and then you do a hem with the right hand
May I ask what kind of fabric are you using for this video?
Is the "Catch stitch" the same as the "zig zag" stitch on a machine?
😢😢😢 I usually try to sew but fail !!!. Throwing the ball in a straight manner is also another problem 😭😭😞 related to being a left handed for some people like me .
At about 6:56 you say you’re always going from right to left but then you go left to right? Just misspoken? Or ?
Ok, maybe do you mean the needle always pokes down fro left to right? But the whole stitching is done left to right? Sorry, I always have a mental block with these things.
How do I save this video?

thank you very much this really helped me
I guest you are a left handed right? jejeje mostly I'd seen a video like this they're right Handed

Pier Pressure? What is this?
A barometer
What unit would that be?
ATM
Sometimes I use that acronym to mean at the moment though
But if Im talking to a bank I would ask them what it means
These are beautifully illustrated but since most of us are right hand oriented, they are difficult to emulate.
Now you understand what left handed people must endure EVERYDAY.
It is nice to see an instructional video done from a left-handed perspective.
I’m sorry. My comment was unnecessary. You addressed the issue and then I watched your struggle to demonstrate a right hand stitch.
