Probably the secret to a long career in Hollywood! She's always appearing in different films, and always delivers great work, but never gets too over-exposed or familiar to the audience.
@James-In-Exile might have a long career, but the pay must suck. She just said she wanted to be in an action film so that she can make a living. She deserves to make more than a living. She's so talented.
Definitely! But when you think about who she acted with and how well she acted with such amazing and iconic actors - you can see why she is an amazing and underrated actress just as much as how she is meant to be less noticed in those roles.. Its like John Goodman level.... amazing actors who are amazing because they don't hog the spot light and tie scenes together by being so great at it.
I'm impressed that Carol Kane throws props to Judy Davis' hair, because I always thought Carol had the best hair in the biz. Wonderful to see her here in the Closet.
My Dad raves about Local Hero whenever he is reminded of it. Funny enough he watched it because of Burt Lancaster and now I want to watch it with him because of Peter Capaldi!
The baby everybody takes care of but doesn't want to talk about, the Northern Lights, mermaids, Ewen McGregor's uncle, a very young Peter Capaldi, Burt Lancaster, Peter Riegert, a fantastic Mark Knopfler soundtrack, and an unfortunate bunny, this movie has it all ❤❤❤
OMG, I've had a crush on Carol Kane for decades (Edit: Ever since I saw her in "Hester Street," wayback in 1975.)! Such a charming person, such a great actor, and such a joyous closet visitor. Thank you!
I was a cab driver in NYC in the mid 80s and picked up Carol Kane. She was a nice lady. We talked about movies. She was sharing her love for a movie called My LIfe as a Dog, which was out at the time. This was Lasse Hallström's first notable movie released here. I was wondering if that movie would be one of her picks here 🙃
When A Stranger Calls (1979) is one of the most underrated horror films ever. People only talk about the first 10 minutes, but the rest of it is VERY unique and chilling.
My cousin and I still do lines from that opening sequence from the fabulous Carol Kane. The movie is amazing until she opens the door to Charles Durning and then the rest is a bore (not lovely Durning's fault). Her Simka in Taxi and this were my intros to her and I have loved her ever since!
@@marsupialdungbucket omg...she's the only possible choice for maude, if some studio dares to remake H&M. maybe timothee chalamet as harold, but with a hideous hair-cut exactly like bud cort's was. in fact, set the film in the exact same time period. no goddamn cell phones. just a cozy early 70s vibe movie. no douches allowed near it, if it happens, god forbid.

The money that I made from Woody's film? I'll donate it to charity to make myself look good. Interesting, isn't it? It's a film that seems to have disappeared from the public view. If a cinema were to play _The Ice Storm_ from a 35mm print, I'd go and revisit it. I was a teenager when I saw _The Ice Storm_ at the movies, so it'd be interesting to see what reaction I have to it more than a quarter century later. There are some films that I've seen only once, at the cinema, and I wonder why they don't do the revival circuit. Especially since _The Ice Storm_ has Frodo-Before-He-Was-Frodo in it, you'd think it would be ripe for another run, yet this is just one of those fandom things. @@markv1274 I saw The Ice Storm with my best friend when it premiered. We couldn't have had more different taste.
