Honestly, I hope that's not me...but if you have someone who's an actual loving, carrying, nurturing "mother' like Kane does, that's a different story.
@@steveconn I'm so sad for you that you have not had experiences with vital older folks in your life. My Mom lost her mom just before she turned 97 (my Mom was 71), and she was remarkable to her last day. I just helped celebrate the birthday of a dear neighbor friend who turned 101, and wish that more people could know her, she is so amazing, and I learn something from her everyday I spend with her.
Carol was friends with my brother and after he die she was in town to do a show. She came by and visited my mom. She is a total sweet heart. Never forget that day.
Bette Davis once said if they were to do a movie of her life she would want Carol to play her. I can see that. That's pretty high praise from one of the greatest screen divas ever.
I did box office for a show Carol Kane was in. One day, she was running late and called the box office to ask if I would jsut pop my head in the rehearsal room and tell them she was running late. She didn't have another number. I'll never forget hearing that iconic voice on the phone and freaking out internally, 'Hello, this is Carol Kane.' She truly is a legend. My dad and I would quote her scenes from Scrooged to each other all the time. At the end of her run with the show, she brought me a red rose. She had been giving them out to everyone in the production and I was so touched that she didn't forget me.
I actually remember Hester Street! But her role on Taxi will always have a special place in my heart. I think if you asked ten random people to describe Carol in one word, I'd wager at least half of them would say, "adorable." 🙂
I had the incredible fortune of seeing Ms. Kane twice as Madame Morrible in Wicked and she absolutely killed it! She brought that classic Kane sense of humor to the role and really made it her own!
Nice interview. Love me some Carol Kane!!! She's in the class of quirky underrated very talented actors like the dearly departed Shelley Duvall. Rock on Carol (and it seems like her mother is lucky to have her in her life - maybe she lives nearby?...and vice versa)! ❤☮🌎
I grew up watching Carol Kane and she’s one of the best actress that my generation was lucky enough to have. Thank you, Carol, for all of the incredible roles you’ve played. 😊❤
Wonderful interview... including with her 97 year old mother! Wow! Thank you for showing us the real Carol Kane. She has created so many memorable characters! And learning the language she and Andy Kaufman spoke on "Taxi" involved that kind of freedom to create was fantastic!
The first movie I ever watched of hers was When a Stranger Calls. I was a kid and it terrified me. I loved it. I have enjoyed all of her interesting characters from The Princess Bride, Transylvania 6500,and The Addams Family. Wonderful childhood memories of all these movies. Absolutely love her.
She's so wonderful! When I was a kiddo I loved her on Taxi, and more recently I really enjoyed her on Hunters... such a fun, talented, and excellent artist.
I tried to reply with a link to some of her music on RUclips, but I think YT removed the link I shared. If you search "Joy Kane Neige" on RUclips, some of her music should pop up in the results (including a piece she composed entitled "Neige").
There are so many fantastic actresses that we’ll never see because they don’t fit the mold of Hollywood glamour. There are so many actresses that aren’t very talented, but are very successful because they do fit the mold of Hollywood glamour.
Never will I forget watching two-time Emmy-winning actress Carol Kane as Mrs. Anderson in the Greg Beeman film 'License to Drive' at the cinema whilst on holiday in Michigan back in July 1988. I even like to watch the film - 'Papá Cadillac' - dubbed in Castilian Spanish (Spain) through a Russian bootleg video streaming site.
The greatest/most brilliant actors, singers, writers, and visual artist are either gone or soon will be. We will NEVER know Greatness again. She's a gem.
Just love her and she does not seem to get the adoration she deserves. Many of her age should be seen more in movies, so much talent is not being utilized. Shame on Hollywood
Imagine being 72 and still having your mother. What a blessing (if you like your mother).
Honestly, I hope that's not me...but if you have someone who's an actual loving, carrying, nurturing "mother' like Kane does, that's a different story.
I am incredibly & extremely envious of her. I miss my mom every day, still talking to her even though she's been gone for 8 years.
Oh my! That is so joyous in itself. I'm 32 and don't have my mother. But, I have wonderful memories.
Pretty much a husk by that age.

Her comedic timing is impeccable.
I adore this woman! And I'm so glad she didn't listen to that doctor. Carol Kane is unique and oh-so talented! 🌟 Rock on, Carol! ❤
Rock on indeed
I do too! Just think if she had listened to him, we would not have her wonderful performances. Kane always emanates joy!
@@marytheresejacksonlutz2533 TOTALLY agree! 👍

It almost seems like he might have said that to inspire her to prove him wrong….
I have loved Carol Kane from the beginning. Now she's even made it to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. She is a brilliant star Long may she shine.
I gave her a ride in my cab in the 80s. We had a conversation about movies. Nice lady.
She looks dam good for 72 ❤🎉
Carol's ensemble role on Princess Bride branded my definition of fabulous comedic acting in my mind, forever.
I actually remember Hester Street! But her role on Taxi will always have a special place in my heart. I think if you asked ten random people to describe Carol in one word, I'd wager at least half of them would say, "adorable." 🙂
“Hester Street” is where I first heard of her. Then I heard about her in “Annie Hall”.
Carol Kane is so funny. I loved her in Kimmy Schmidt. She had the best one liners
I had the incredible fortune of seeing Ms. Kane twice as Madame Morrible in Wicked and she absolutely killed it! She brought that classic Kane sense of humor to the role and really made it her own!
She is wonderful and bright.

I love Carol Kane's voice.
People throw around the "must be protected at all costs" thing a little too freely sometimes, but Carol Kane is a goddamned treasure.
Loved her in everything she’s done!
I loveeeeeeeeee Carol Kane!!!!! ❤❤❤
That lady (the mother) is sharp as a tack. I hope we can all experience our later years like that.
Wonderful interview... including with her 97 year old mother! Wow! Thank you for showing us the real Carol Kane. She has created so many memorable characters! And learning the language she and Andy Kaufman spoke on "Taxi" involved that kind of freedom to create was fantastic!
I’ve adored her for decades now.

Thank you Nancy Giles for this wonderful interview of the fabulous Kane!
Carol Kane was the best grandmama in the addams family ❤❤
The first movie I ever watched of hers was When a Stranger Calls. I was a kid and it terrified me. I loved it. I have enjoyed all of her interesting characters from The Princess Bride, Transylvania 6500,and The Addams Family. Wonderful childhood memories of all these movies. Absolutely love her.
I saw that movie recently and was surprised I hadn't seen it earlier. I love her too, she is fabulous!
OMG my friends and I just watched that a few months ago. I had always heard of it but never sat down to watch it it. We loved😂 it

She's so wonderful! When I was a kiddo I loved her on Taxi, and more recently I really enjoyed her on Hunters... such a fun, talented, and excellent artist.
Such an exotic beauty, and without knowing her but knowing her work I bet she's an equally wonderfully beautiful person inside as well.❤
Eccentricly beautiful & a
phenomenal actress. I just
love Carol Kane.
Loved her as "Simka" to Andy Kaufman's "Latka" in "TAXI." So, so good!
Loved her in the 1979 film “When a Stranger Calls”
I have a general rule for films
Any film with Carol or Tim Curry in it can not be a bad film over all
Good interview. I appreciate Carol Kane's work even more now that I know her feelings about it. Not ever taking any role for granted.
I love her! And Nancy Giles is a really great interviewer!
Beautiful and underrated!
Carol Kane has always been one of my favorites. She deserves more than 7 minutes!
Enduringly endearing Carol Kane✨
Gosh her mother seems like an amazing woman. Would love to read more about her and hear her music.
I tried to reply with a link to some of her music on RUclips, but I think YT removed the link I shared. If you search "Joy Kane Neige" on RUclips, some of her music should pop up in the results (including a piece she composed entitled "Neige").
Ms Kane is a national treasure.
Loved her especially as Grandmama in Addams Family Values and Jumpin Jack Flash.
LOVED this interview. Great job! Miss Kane is a treasure!
Y’all are so inspiring ~ thank you ❤

She is so hilarious!
Beautiful story! Amazing actress.
Love her - wish they had mentioned her brilliant performance in, 'When A Stranger Calls'.
One of the greatest opening sequences ever
That's a woefully underrated film. I think it's one of the best American films of the Seventies, and Kane is impeccable in it.
Carol Kane is amazing! I came here because I knew The Princess Bride was going to come up.

All of my favorite actresses and actors are the ones who are unique. They stand out and leave a lasting impression.
Ironically I think Carol is a stunning classical beauty ❤
Honestly just a lovley special. I adore this actress.
A refreshing interview.
She’s a national treasure and so is her mom!
Saw her in Wicked on Broadway. She was spectacular.
I always thought Carol Kane was such a beautiful, unique looking woman since I was a kid. 😊

Brilliant performer hope she keeps doing more amazing things!. Love her!!! Wonderful to see her with her mom.
My favorite Carol Kane performance is when she portrayed Jill Johnson in When A Stranger Calls - she is an incredible dramatic actress ❤❤😊😊
A great role and superb performance, in a terrific, underrated film.
She must have been so wonderful to meet. Love her acting ❤
I want an Annie Potts/Carol Kane "Thelma and Louise" style "buddy" movie! ;-)

What a lovely actor
Just today discovered this lady from the movie Between the temples. Absolutely smitten and she's 30 years older than me.
I've been watching her in TV and movies my whole life. She always seemed so otherworldly and ageless.😁❤
She's brilliant.
I also am 72 years old.
Remarkable, women! Thank you for this story @CBS Sunday Morning!
Great actress and she was hilarious in Scrooged.
If I ever worked with Carol Kane, I'd probably fall in love with her.
I used to love Taxi on Nick at Night, particularly for her and Andy K. Glad she's still thriving.
*"I'm NOT a witch. I'm your WIFE!"*
Amazing actress. I loved scrooged, flashback, addams family and so many others.
She seems like an adorable lady ☺️
She was great in the Last Detail and Over the Brooklyn Bridge as well.
Just love her and she does not seem to get the adoration she deserves. Many of her age should be seen more in movies, so much talent is not being utilized. Shame on Hollywood
