    Makes me wish they would have used this as the base for the tactix 7. I agree that the lineup is too diluted, and can't help but feel this lowers the Fenix from flagship status. Garmin needs to get less confusing and mixed with their skus

    It's been a week since I bought Fenix 7x SS, but I already have something to say - it's a fantastic watch. You can use it all day long and you won't be able to discharge it by more than 10 percent. It's just great when you're free from frequent charging.
    When I saw your new video I was sad because maybe my Fenix isn't the best watch anymore, but as it turns out, the difference of a few extra days of battery life and a more powerful flashlight isn't a killer feature for me, so I can say - woah, I'm still have maybe the best watch on a market ))))

    I do trail run and long run. I also like hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking etc. The battery life of Fenix 7x is already more than what I need. Don't forget the battery life of Fenix 7x for activity tracking is already longer than Enduro 1. I will absolutely wear out before my watch does.

    So that said yes I’ll get this watch I still have the FENIX 6X Sapphire and the Apple Watch 7 titanium (the reason for not buying the Fenix 7) been testing and comparing the fenix 6 with the Apple Watch 7 and the Oura ring 3 for almost a year now and in terms of predicting my body ready status or recovery the combination from Fenix and Oura is working a little better for me battery life is one of my highest go to what I’m missing on Garmin a lot is they didn’t add any new banks or credit cards in the last 18 months in Germany that is a bit of a deal breaker since the pre paid work around isn’t that comfortable.
    Still for the future I’ll need that battery life so I’m going to sell some of my watches and get it.

    Hi Dave, another really nice video; thanks.
    The problem with your Garmin videos isn't YOU: it's Garmin.😉 So much product line overlap! The more I read and watch about their watches, the more confused I am!
    I have a FR 945 that needs to be replaced. I am leaning towards a FR 955, but some of their other watches have a couple features I'd like to have.
    Why can't Garmin make something like a "super" FR 955, with the features of an Enduro or Epix, but with the lightweight polymer construction? The larger size and weight of the Fenix, Enduro and Epix are what keeps me away. I want all the features, especially for trail running and maps (and a flashlight) but I am not a person who is "into" fancy watches. I would prefer a lightweight 'polymer/plastic' watch rather than a fancy watch that weights 20 grams more, and has titanium and all that.
    I think Garmin does it on purpose. We know they have kept certain features out of the lower-end watches so you are forced to buy a more expensive watch. And I don't mind buying a top of the line ForeRunner, because it's still lightweight. But it's not 'fair' to keep certain features exclusive to their fancy metal watches. Of course, from a business perspective, it makes sense for Garmin, because many people who want/need the newest, most advanced features, will pay $1,000+ to get them. And in so doing, they are buying a larger, heavier watch.
    I think your videos are really great, and I like the way you pace the videos; you don't talk super fast, like one of the other gadget reviewers we all know and love!
    /rant 🙃😊😉

    I would genuinely like to know in maybe some kind of update video whether it's software, processor,or physically larger batter while keeping the watch lighter. Because if it's software tuning there maybe there's hope Garmin could improve the Fenix 7 battery life. Otherwise if I hadn't bought the 7X Sapphire solar back in March I would hands down purchase the Enduro 2. I love, absolutely love not worrying about battery.

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  Год назад +3

      I've asked Garmin but the answer wasn't clear. From what I understand the weight savings come from a thinner titanium being used on the bezel. I'm guessing they shaved down the back of the bezel and maybe increased the mAh of the battery to account for the increased battery spec? Just a guess though. I suppose I'd need to take it apart to truly find out? Maybe...

      The overall advertised weight savings difference is deceptive. It comes from them swapping the silicone band out for the nylon band. The actual case actually weighs about 3 grams more than the 7X Solar Sapphire. The non-sapphire version of the 7x is heavier because it has a stainless steel bezel compared to the titanium bezel on the more expensive models.

      The Enduro 1 has longer standby/smartwatch mode because it simply has less features. Enduro 2 has 34 days without solar which should be enough for most people but it excels in GPS mode with 110+ hours of GPS activity. Enduro = Endurance Sports in Garmin's eyes. It's just a Fenix 7X with a bigger battery inside and a special nylon strap for $100 more than a standard Fenix 7X Solar.
