SUCH GOOD ADVICE! Self-love, self-empowerment, and self-acceptance. Love your tips on telling yourself affirmations and reframing insecurities to strengths. Also wanna add to this : when negative thoughts come to mind, think "where does this come from? who/what put this expectation on me?" A lot of times our insecurities stem from societal expectations. Removing yourself from the responsibility of having to uphold those unrealistic expectations is so liberating!!

"You're born to look this way to help other people think they're beautiful." Absolutely love this--an essential perspective to have on life. You should listen to Stephen's song "Start A Fire"; there's a lyric in there that really reminds me of what you said: "Why is this happening to me? Why is this happening for me? Only one word has changed, but it's a completely different story."
The fact that you’re so open and honest is very inspiring. A lot of the tips you gave in this video were very helpful and I’ll definitely be using some of them so thank you ☺️💕
Hearing people talk about how they're insecure with their monolids makes me so sad, because I have always wished that I had monolids, make up looks sooo much nicer and you can actually see the eye make up where as on my eyes once I open my eyes the make up just disappears lol. Also Asian eyes are the perfect shape for winged eyeliner and are just beautiful in general, so just remember that something that you dislike about yourself may be something that other people admire or are envious of.

I had to google monolids because I had never heard of the term before and honestly I can't BELIEVE this is actually a thing. Being self conscious about 'MONOLIDS'? Holy shit, asian eyes are beautiful as they are and I can't believe people actually have surgery to get 'double eyelids'!! There are sooo many ridiculous beauty standards that honestly, the best thing to do is ignore them! Still in shock about the 'monolids' thing.

RUclips changed my views, because I find the level of conversation I see from my favorite female youtubers goes beyond what we see on the outside. The first thing I thought when I started watching this video is "Wow her eyes are so cute, makeup looks so good on her eyes!" and then you said it was one of your biggest insecurities. I started watching your video last night because some how RUclips knew that I was in the darkness and so, they suggested me to watch your video.
I’m Japanese, currently a Junior in college. My college is predominantly white and i find myself comparing my looks to others. I tell myself “I’m not pretty enough, I’m not white, not smart and that is why no one likes you” and all the negative thoughts has brought me down since this semester started.
It’s weird because I was known as positive, giggly, and bubbly happy girl.
Crazy how my brain and whatever happening in my head can easily bring me down.
But after watching your video of “I’m not pretty enough” it hit me hard to realize I’m the one who controls everything about myself so start thinking positively.
I just want to thank you for doing what you do and being who you are!!!

Girl, as a fellow Asian, and as a MUA, you are blessed. People with monolids, has way more eyelid real estate, so you can make whatever shape you want. After I turned 30, learning to give a fuck was a blessing. The glory of adulthood. I my self are battling depression, anxiety, as well as suicidal thoughts, stress, injuries, allergies and obesity, watching this helped❤️

I needed this video today. I’ve been dealing with a lot of insecurity in the past year and thinking that I’m not good enough which has completely ruined my confidence. In 2018 I promised to myself I would do things out of my comfort zone and be kinder to myself and this just reminded me of those promises and my goals so thank you 😊
you are so intelligent in the way that you speak and think! i was always so insecure about the way that i looked and this video gave me an epiphany! to just accept me as i am and become a better person on the inside!! if you’re secure within yourself i feel like the beauty and confidence will just show in the way that you present yourself to the world.
I love this video. My biggest insecurity has always been my skin. After I turned 20, I started getting cystic acne. It was debilitating and left me feeling ashamed. These past few years, I've started really embracing it and not wearing makeup in public anymore. I agree with you--embrace your insecurities and reflect on what's going on in your body and what your strengths are. Because we ARE strong. Thanks for this video

Sometimes being confident in one's self come and go but the more we learn to accept ourselves, flaws and all, is when we work our way towards fully accepting ourselves as a whole package and it's learning to work our way together with our strengths and maybe even using some weaknesses as strengths (if that makes sense, hahaha). I'm always comparing myself to others, always feeling insecure. I look at idols saying to myself my eyes are not big enough, my nose is ugly, my skin is gross, my face is uneven. And sometimes I just sit and cry, I try to convince myself that I should love myself but I don't know how to get confident. I always love The AM with Amy. It feels like having a conversation with a friend. Often times, I find myself giving my friends, especially the younger ones, the same advice that I wish I would have heard at their age or the same advice that I might be needing now. Definitely appreciate how you actively try (and I know it's tough, girl) to turn your vulnerability into a strength and sharing your moments of wisdom even when you might feel like they came from moments of weakness. Like I said, love AM with Amy, but any content that you put out is exciting for me, so I would watch anything!
Thank you for this video! I've always been insecure about my looks. But as I got older, I've now become insecure about my personality too. Especially at work, ive only been there for 8 months and I'm still not comfortable around everyone. Today I got a bit jealous of one of the new-ish girls that's been there 3 months. She's very bubbly, outgoing, and pretty. She's able to talk to everyone so easily and everyone loves her. I felt bad wishing that I could be both pretty and outgoing like her, but I'm neither of them. I started this year trying to be the best version of myself, but after a few weeks it kinda just all went downhill and I've become serious and anxious again. But I'm trying not to be like that so we'll see what happens.

beauty is a social construct, I know that finding your own beauty and being aware that its in the eye of the beholder is my key to dodging insecurity. If there's something you're insecure about believe me theres someone out there that can love that about you.
I admire your thoughts and mind so much. With each episode of the AM with Amy I add more knowledge to my mind and mentality and it makes me a better person. I learned to empathize with everyone around me and be to kind to myself. ❤️

rian phin (here on youtube) made a really good point in one of her vids like this! she said if you see a trait you like in another person you can just be like same and work on that trait like make it better in you! for example, my boss at work is so cool and remains calm all the time and always knows what shes talking about etc so i was like 'thats mine now gunna make sure i know what im talking about cos im gunna get KNOWLEDGE and stop freaking out when theres difficult customers in the shop etc' an inspo
