    The grey Ray Molloy mini is still alive. I bought it back in 89.

    Geoghagan's Monaro was a bloody beast in a straight line, that was where he was getting Moffat in the Chevy Monza

    The car left on the track wouldn't happen today. Safety Cars hadn't been invented then! Great racing in this video!

    Cigarette companies may be evil but they did sponsor some amazing cars and racing

      I wouldn't say they are evil, they provide a product, you don't have to buy.

    By the time they got to Wanneroo Park Moffat had the Capri RS 3100. Geoghagan was black flagged for not making the grid on time but started from the rear of the grid anyway and got into second or third place before pulling into the pits. I think Petes blood pressure might have been up.

    Real drivers, real cars, real tracks, real conditions (smaller cars). Not like the prima dona sooks of today racing specialy designed and built replicas who can't drive one of these old "beasts" of yesteryear if there life depended on it!

    Was the Bond car the one called "the ugly". An LJ with the Repco 5000 / 308 shoehorned into the engine bay?
    Did Pete the Great run the six or seven litre unit in his beast?

    Moffat in his DeKon built Chevy Monza and Pete Geoghegan in his Monaro.....classical

    I'm amazed at how much the cars are bouncing in front. It almost looks like they don't have shock absorbers the way they're bounding about. The track must have a lot of heaves in it.

    • @LP187q
      @LP187q 8 лет назад +1

      Footage up till the 90s you can really see the poor shock control on the cars, so much so its visually obvious now. Look at the early footage of the r32 qualifying at bathurst bouncing through the chase and the rest of the track.
