ProMotion is impossibly available on the rest of iPad lineup. Just look at the base model of iPhone 15 where OLED has been introduced for nearly 4 years but still lacks even a 90Hz display🤣😅
Bro i am soooo done with ipad. I had my hopes up for years. Im keeping my 2020 ipad pro until the wheels fall off(meaning until the battery stops working lol).
For my needs all these features are nice to have none must have. I recently upgraded to the M2 ipad pro to get the usb-c before the big price bump of the m4, I really don’t care for oled nor thinner. My other favorite feature were the much better speakers, which are probably worse on the M4, and longer battery which is noticeable. The little brightness improvement doesn’t make a difference, nor the faster M2 processor. I enjoy the 120hz and other features that were trimmed from the new air.
A foldable iPad Ultra would be awesome. HOWEVER, this is assuming native apps take full advantage. Primarily, I am imagining Final Cut Pro for iPad Ultra, where the timeline is on the bottom half, enabling much more screen real-estate for the top half. Perhaps even option to have the media folders on the bottom as well. Another killer function would be IF the iPad could be used in conjunction with regular desk/laptop Final Cut Pro. It would act as a sort of Wacom with the timeline on it, so you could manually make adjustments with the pen or finger control like the dial. This could completely change the way editing is done, relying much less on antiquated keyboard chortcuts. I am imagining once the end of clip is selected you can just squeeze or tap to trim frame-by-frame in either direction, perhaps using the pen to rotate, or a dial control as well. Pen could easily be configured to select the type of edit as well, perhaps where on the clip you select, will bring up the dropdown menu, so you wouldn't even have to go up to the menus higher up on the window - Similar action of how Numbers app gives you different options depending upon where you clicked, within a cell. Given the size of the device, perhaps, AT LEAST, two USB or Thunderbolt ports
None of those arguments match the "about to be" in the title... Ain't no way you are recommending people to wait two years.. Making people wait a month or two for new iPhone launch is fine, but almost two years for a rumored iPad? That's crazy.
Some may call me a Samsung fan because I use an S23 Ultra, but I have a Macbook as my laptop. I have to agree that the iPad screen is awesome. I unfortunately only have the M1 with LCD so not OLED and as such I usually don't choose it to watch movies on. I'll either use my TV, phone, or laptop since they all have better contrast and less backlight glow.
What about the battery? The battery life of the new models is the same as the old ones, it falls from full charge to 20% after 4 hour-session of study using Notability and some other file-management apps which are supposed to be low power apps. I just wonder if it is a sin to make the iPad Pro battery last for 18 hours of heavy duty. I hope to live to see this happening!
This hardware upgrades sound great but seems like pretty much everyone is in agreement the OS is the problem. My problem with Apple is they come out with a new idea ie stage manager and never improve it. Same thing with files. There’s plenty of refining they could do to make it function better and “not like mac.” But they won’t even do that cause they seem so scared of stepping on Macs toes. I don’t need an Ipad to be a mac however it can achieve the same things in a different way that works with touch as the focus. I also don’t understand why they don’t improve apps like pages, numbers and keynote to make it full featured before they did video editing. Seems to me it would have been a broader less intensive task.
After 10 years of iPads I have finally switched to a Microsoft Surface X Elite, and couldn’t be happier. IPad is a nice toy, but the OLED screen doesn’t make it a versatile computer.

The worst part is anyone that knows the iPad Pro line well knows that the limitations of it are completely intentional from apple at this point. Apple wants to live in a fantasy land where everyone has enough disposable income where they can buy both an iPad Pro, and a Mac Studio or MacBook. I can barely afford the iPad Pro, and even though I could definitely get more computer power for things like video editing on something like a Mac mini, for less money, I need the Apple Pencil for the art side of things. Im just going to keep on waiting until apple either beefs up ipad OS, or until my 12.9” M1 starts to feel really dated, otherwise there is zero reason for me to update my Ipad. There is basically nothing that I could do on the new M4 IPad Pro (as nice as they are) that I can’t make work on my M1.
It looks like Apple has started to work on the ipad mini 8 They will upgrade the size 8.3 inch to 8.7 inch. It will be the ipad mini 8 with a pro chip, 120hz, Oled screen and they will add the 512gb. The next ipad mini 7 won't get an Oled display. But LCD, still 60hz refresh rate and a A18 chip. I will buy the ipad pro 13 inch m5 and ipad mini 8 pro. I hope there will be an ipad Ultra 16 inch for artists.

Note that Apple recently canceled its decade-long multi-billion dollar effort to develop a power-sipping stellar-quality microLED display for the Apple Watch. Rumor has it that using current-gen manufacturing technology, the cost was still way too high.

As always, fantastic video! Thank you, Vadim. The one thing you didn't mention is the possibility of iPad Pro (2025) & the OLED iPad Air & Mini (2026) getting an always-on display with a variable refresh rate that goes all the way down to 1Hz like with the iPhone 15 Pro lineup. Once you get used to the M4 you get bored of the screen. It’s not revolutionary. The best change was the keyboard. I love the iPad but it’s an Apple money grab product. Not worth upgrading. Use yours until it can’t turn on anymore because it’s going to do the same thing every other iPad does.

Quad-OLED screens! Stack 4 OLED screens
MiGA - Make iPads Great Again
Trump will make Apple Greater Again.
They need to make an ipad mini pro
giant foldable iPad sounds like a joke. like a parody device prop they'd use in that Silicon Valley tv show
It looks like Apple has started to work on the ipad mini 8 They will upgrade the size 8.3 inch to 8.7 inch.
Foldable ipad 18"? Kidney sales will go thru the roof.
When would all your RUclipsrs bring a iPad Pro as the only computer to the WWDC, covering the event, editing the video, I would trust iPad is great again.
Apple is using the most advanced cash money making marketing 😂
Bro do you know the galaxy tab s9 ultra existed for a year now ????😅 The brightness of that tab is close to the tandem OLED on the iPad pro
Forget that I want the iPad Pro m4
I’d hardly call the display on the iPad Air”terrible”
oleds have terrible flicker, no one tells you that, you can check with your phone, put on video recording and point to the ipad, unfortunately I found that when i got it :(
As someone who's never owned an ipad could someone explain to me why ppl say they suck?
sucks we'll have to wait until m5 to get OLED on a macbook pro
Note that Apple recently canceled its decade-long multi-billion dollar effort to develop a power-sipping stellar-quality microLED display for the Apple Watch. Rumor has it that using current-gen manufacturing technology, the cost was still way too high.
When will Apple fix the IpadOS? It is not a big mobile phone, it is so much more so the OS needs to be something else, closer to a MacOS.
Thanks Spock.
“I was wrong” coming soon
2026 😂how long this technology been on the market now?
nits - brightness, more power and screen is about 10% of the usaability - too many limitations and readful multi tasking capabilities. They are nice but M1 iPad can do 99% of the M4
I wish they made a ultra with better aspect ration for media and provide a Samsunng Dex equilivent
If Apple really wanted to make iPads great, they'd make iPadOS great.
I'm surprised they haven't called it iOLED or RetinaOLED
Wait, Apple makes OLED panels? 🤔
Comparing new Apple Oled Screen to the LG's one is like shooting to the red cross
I think a MACBOOK AIR fold screen with touch screen would be the way they cross over to make IPad on Mac OS …. AND LEAVE iPads on iPad OS
Pretty much all the displays are perfectly fine, even pro motion is something you notice when looking side by side. In normal use you don’t notice it, we made survived before and can still now. Not worth the money
You definitely notice it when you’re used to 120hz display. I hate when I have to use a device with 60hz now that my main devices are all >= 120hz.
But I agree, not worth the money with the current state of iPadOS.
@@julienlecoq3539 I was used to it on the iPad Pro but the size of the mini was worth the day it took to forget about pro motion.
The larger iPad just was not portable enough and with iPad os nothing really fully justifies the display size outside of video watching
@@julienlecoq3539 you dont notice it but okay
I literally unboxed my iPad 10 minutes
Nothing wrong with LCD. Unless you’re a professional.
Just get the galaxy s10 ultra tablet, later this year. It'll be cheaper and have oled display and better aspect ratio
Make iPads Great Again!
No iPads are not supposed to fold like that. I refuse I refuse I refuse LOL.😊
I just purchased an M4 iPad Pro and I love it! The battery life is way better than the previous model from 2018.
You said that last time
I want to buy a new iPad. So, should I have Mexico pay for it?
Samsung did this centuries ago. 60hz in non pro models is a disgrace
Video viewing experience is better in Samsung only because of its aspect ratio.
Am oled air is the perfect ipad for me i want the pro solely becuase of the oled tech but im overpaying for all the other stuff. And the air is adequate in every way but the display which is lcd which i hate and makes watches movies in the dark a bad experiance.
Display-wise, I think this is the only feature that was missing from this year's Tandem OLED iPad Pros. Thoughts?
Are you talking about the same Apple that I know?
iPad Ultra starting at $3,000 with toy software. Nice.
It does remind me of this Fisher Price toy I bought for my kids years ago. I'll never buy another Ipad as long as the OS remains the same.
Just get an M1 or M2. I have the M4 and got it because I thought Apple was going to do something with the software…. I was wrong. There is literally nothing wrong with the screens on the M1 or M2.
I think they should just focus on bug fixes. That‘s it.
Subtle and approved title
I doubt OLED comes to the base iPad. That's the only one I would consider purchasing. It's a consumption device, not a content creation device. Hell no, I would never buy a Pro iPad.
