- John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (also known as John Wick: Chapter 3 or simply John Wick 3) is a 2019 American action thriller film starring Keanu Reeves as the titular character in the third installment in the John Wick film series, following John Wick (2014) and John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017).
The film is directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Derek Kolstad, Shay Hatten, Chris Collins, and Marc Abrams, based on a story by Kolstad.
It also stars Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Mark Dacascos, Asia Kate Dillon, Lance Reddick, Anjelica Huston, and Ian McShane.
In the film, ex-hitman John Wick finds himself on the run from legions of assassins after a $14 million contract is put on his head.
The first film was always intended to begin a series, and a third installment was announced in June 2017. Much of the returning cast and crew was confirmed in February 2018, with new members joining that May.
Filming began that month and lasted through November, taking place in New York City, Montreal and Morocco.
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum was theatrically released in the United States on May 17, 2019, by Summit Entertainment. It received positive reviews from critics, with praise for the fight choreography, visual style, and Reeves' performance.

Drive and Brotherhood of the Wolf. Very awesome he gave props to Drive.
Awesome movie, my favorite of the year! it delivered like any good third film does like Return of the Jedi, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Back to the Future 3 and more.
So far its my favorite of this year. Give me more of this, and less superhero films. I'm sure the director of The Raid films is a big fan, he appreciates action scenes like these instead of Superhero fight scenes.
I wonder how come there's no The Raid 3, I'll much rather have another Raid movie than all these superhero sequels. I have nothing against superhero movies but I do think the genre needs a few years of rest.
Preach, my friend! I'm hoping Hollywood is taking notes--we miss the action blockbusters of the '90s. A resurgence is imminent. And I'd say it's about fucking time that Scott Adkins gets a big budget action vehicle of his own. Shit, throw Isaac Florentine and Adkins some money and see what they do with it. Just don't let them have anything to do with the script. Lol

Nice job with the review. The John Wick trilogy is the best action franchise of the 2010's. Hands down. No contest. I am admittedly a little worried about the fourth and fifth films though since Derek Kolstad is not going to be involved at all with any of them.
I'm 44 I grew up with all the 80s and 90s action , thriller movies and in my opinion what most of us all seem to enjoy about John Wick 1-3 is it's all it's own , it doesn't remake any thing or try to be any other movie , it may remind us of a bunch of various movies all rolled into one but John Wick when I watched part 1 my mom was sitting beside me and she's 69 years old , she loved the fucking movie my word she couldn't get enough. She fell in love with the guy lol. It's cause the movie makes us care for him , he's caring , lovable , protective , vulnerable , he's everyone's brother , father , son, husband, boyfriend , friend , when you check off a list like that you have a damn great character. Now will this franchise get to be to much at part 4 to 10? Probly but we can enjoy it now.
Saw it with my dad. I loved it and he enjoyed it too. My favorite this year. Loved everything in the film from Reeves and the fights.
Keanu Reeves in his 50's if he can do john wick fights he could be Batman!

Bruh I can feel your enthusiasm me and my mother went to see it 10 am in the morning the Friday it was released [I'm a cheapskate so I always try to watch movies first thing in the morning ] movie was so good soon as the movie ended we turned right back around and watched it again...amazing movie PERIOD! Normally the 3rd installment to a movie sequel sucks but this one was better than the sequel
You know, I have not seen any of these films yet but I've always wanted too. Keanu has always been one of my favorite actors and I enjoy many of his films. I know that I'll enjoy these so one day I would like to give my thoughts on all of them. I believe I own the first two.
Keanu has my utmost respect for the beating he's taken to his body making these flicks, the dedication, movements and just incredibly exhausting stuff that he has done in all 3 of these films. Sadly, it puts folks like Stallone/Arnold to shame nowadays compared to what Keanu has been doing. Plus these films do not just have awesome and awe-inspiring action...but good characters and interesting world-building done the right/correct way. Plus, the 2nd and 3rd films have beautiful cinematography. Definitely recommend them. A pleasure to see these films on the big screen.

Well of course I would have liked to see Mark Dacascos a little longer, as well, but at least it was more screen time than in Cradle in the Grave. And that fight with Keanu was way better than with Jet Li. Other than that I was quite impressed how the John Wick 3 crew has featured Mark Dacascos the right way and gave him a chance to display his full potential as Zero.
Saw this last night and all I have to say is WOW!!! The action in this movie is just fucking incredible. I honestly don't which action sequence was my favorite, because so many of them were great, but the team up scene with Halle, Keanu and the dogs has to be some of the most epic shit I have ever seen lol. Mark Dacascos was fantastic as well. I loved him as the villain along with the guys from The Raid. I have never been more amped for another sequel either. Please give me Chapter 4 as soon as possible.
Loved the review and couldn't agree with you more about the film. This one is honestly my favorite film in the franchise. Oh and lets not forget Lethal Weapon 4 was a good closeout to the franchise. We will see what happens. As for now I'm just patiently waiting for the film to release on blu ray! Cheers Matt!

I just watched it today (started watching this video as I'm commenting). I enjoyed it a lot. A top 5 so far this year. I remember when they announced The Raid guys and Tiger Chen I was like "OMG...it's gonna make a comeback against The Villainess." Surprisingly, it did in many ways. I wasn't a big fan of the first movie, but I find it the most believable of the trilogy. I liked the 2nd one much more. This one made a huge improvement in many ways and I gotta respect that.
So far I have not seen one negative review for Godzilla. All the reviews that I’ve seen are saying it’s really good. John Wick Chapter 3 was absolutely beautiful. I can’t think of another good consistent action franchise this generation other than maybe Mission Impossible.
Great movie. I liked that Martial Arts were more pushed in this movie and were as prevalent as the gun action scenes. The action scenes were bigger and more dynamic whilst still maintaining what was great about the action in the first 2 which makes for a good part 3. As you say I would definitely look forward to a Part 4 if the quality stays the same. I was definitely waiting for the Adjudicator to die. But maybe in Part 4.

I'm glad you loved it Matt. I know it was your most anticipated film of the year, and there is nothing better than a movie you are looking forward to living up your expectations or even exceeding them. I'm not seeing this until today, but man am I excited for it. I enjoyed the first one, but Chapter 2 was the shit and pretty much solidified these movies as the best action franchise in this modern era. I said it before, but Keanu Reeves is the fucking man and as long as these movies deliver I hope he keeps making them along with the same directors from the previous films.

Word up. I stopped watching trailers years ago. Going in blind is the way to go, no doubt. Back in the '90s, we didn't have every new trailer at our fingertips, but today, the urge to spoil is right in our faces. It's also partially boycott for me at this point in regard to watching trailers, since they now have mini-trailers FOR trailers--which is the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard of.

Very Badass Sequel, I Love John Wick 3, including 1 & 2, there Some Of my Favorites Of Keanu Reeves Well Directed, Written, & Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Halle Berry, Ian McShane, & Mark Dacoscos did a Solid Job, I Hated John Wick 4 Though definitely the Worst IMO & 1 of Keanu Reeves Worst Too & John Wick 4 is 1 of the Worst Sequels IMO❤, Solid Review Matt

Okay so, as a massive fan of the Franchise, I have a few gripes. Yes, the action is amazing. Fuck is it good. But damn it the plot and story pisses me off. Halle Berry’s character kinda feels like she’s there just for the audience to go “OH SHIT ITS HALLE BERRY” they don’t really explain why he needs her to get to “Barada” if he doesn’t need her to kill anyone. Given that is Johns intentions. You’re telling me that she was the only one who knew where he was? And then it’s not clear whether not Johns 15 million Bounty is still active. Sure. The “Elder” says the Excommunicato will stay active till Winston is Dead. So ..... what? the adjudicator thinks he is dead or at least almost dead. So wtf is going on???? I’m not mad at part 4 being announced , but as a massive John Wick fan the writing in this was EXTREMELY disappointing for me.

If i'm being honest i don't give a shit about Hobbs & Shaw. I really wish the would've gone with an R rating. And honestly, The action scenes doesn't look like all that in a bag of chips.
I enjoyed this film(binged it actually,Michael mann style lighting at night was eye candy)&as a trilogy but out of all three,I prefer the 2nd film over this third installment for it's more action&choreography, its pace,cast,plot&threat. Been a fan of berry since Jungle Fever which is my favorite spike lee joint and mark D since Only the Strong😎 the Call is my favorite berry flick. I disagree with the failure of DC films, in my personal opinion, I enjoyed man of steel, dawn of justice, justice league,doomsday animated film,dark knight returns animated film, year one animated film.

I had so much fun watching this on thursday night. Best movie of the year and Godzilla has big shoes to fill. Not everything needs to be a trilogy, as long as they're great movies I can give a shit less. I have no worries about John Wick 4, clearly the directors and crew know what they're doing.
And you glad we have a new franchise that is fresh and also audiences are supporting it now that it knocked Avengers off number 1?
I agree with Matt. No one is asking these older action stars to do crazy fights etc but at the least they can have some cool gun play like the wick films. Expendables films got worse and worse cause they DONT LISTEN TO THE FANS!!!!

Watched this yesterday, best film of the year! I couldn't stop smiling on every fight scenes. Halle Berry doing her own stunts was fantastic plus good seeing Mark back in a long time, I noticed his aged more than keanu even though their the same age. I couldn't stand the bitch investigator who felt untouchable, she should of been killed! Part four I would like to see Wesley Snipes!

Is the John Wick trilogy the greatest trilogy of all time? I think possibly... I saw the film blind as well, and haven’t had this much fun in the theater in years (since John Wick 2). This is one of the greatest films of all-time.

@@johnnycage2987 That is a great trilogy, as well. I still haven't seen past 4. I love the first 4, but I've heard so much shit about the 5th one that it's sort of deterred me from checking it out. That's unfair though--I still need to watch it to judge it for myself.

@@Johnlindsey289 One of them, undoubtedly. For me, personally, no other film trilogy has received a 5 star rating for each film. This is obviously totally subjective and my opinion. I'd say all the trilogies you mentioned are up there, for sure. But, I could say, with some confidence, that each of the trilogies you mentioned have a "weaker" entry--I don't feel this way about John Wick. Again, totally my opinion. It's just fun to talk about and get others opinions.
I hated the 4th Indiana Jones film. But that's just me.
