Seriously. Does it get any better than this? Wow. Phenomenal song all the way around - and talk about nailing it after all these years! This masterpiece epitomizes the sounds of the day back from the mid seventies - when music was simply written and performed on another level. About as close one can get to a perfect piece of music. Thank you, Dave, for transporting us back in time, even for a moment, when life was less complicated.
All I can say Is Thanks to Dave for such wonderful music. My wife passed one week ago after 30 years of marriage. His song "Every woman" will be played at her funeral and a line from Let it go, Let It Flow will be on the Program Hand out. " A Rose is gonna Fall and an Angel's gonna Call on you, to help You on Your Way. Time spent together, like now is forever, Don't ever Let this Love slip away". God Bless this music and the beautiful mind that created it.
I was surprised to hear how much the musicianship in this live version sounds like the actual vinyl record, even some 30 years after originally being first recorded! This live version by Dave Mason's band is nothing short of excellent! Bravo, Dave Mason!
This is such a superior song in every way. You just gotta love a song that is solid from start to finish, lyrics flowing, instruments played effortlessly along. Never get tired of hearing this treasure. Why can't musicians of today get this right? Listen to the layering and soft tones in the background. One of the best mellow rock songs of all time...standing ovation for this gem!
In my opinion,.......and i personally play this song,....that was without a doubt,...the best i have ever heard that song played,...i will emulate this version evrytime i play this tune from now on,....beautiful,..
I just said the same thing in a comment on another one of his songs a few minutes ago. His musical history is impressive to say the least. Yet somehow, people just don't know who he is. I saw him back in the mid 70's. he sounds just as great as he did back then. God, I hear his voice and the memories come flooding back. The music from the mid 60's to the mid 70's created the best soundtrack a person could grow up with.
They can NEVER take away a GREAT moment in time! While the 70s produced many of them from pop...rock...& of course ...R&R, This was perhaps Dave's best & still stands strong! Timeless GOD BLESS
I heard this song on the radio the other day and was reminded of one of my favorite songs as a kid. I KNEW if I looked on RUclips I'd find a great version of it. Thanks for posting!
To all those who lost a love one, God bless you.........I lost my mother in January 2006 , I miss her so much, everyday is a struggle, This music does me real good. I love Dave Mason, I remember my mother telling me to turn the damn music down. LOL..I miss that woman. I still cry fo her.
I hesitate to write it, but... it's timeless. I heard this so long ago. The Eighties I am sure and it still shines just as brightly now as it did then. Real music. No throngs of choreographed dancers, CG, and auto-fader. Wow.
Thank You! No No! Please Gimme more! DM as near perfection. Wow. Am I glad to hear this beautiful song. After a near death experience from heart surgery. I love it man!
Still a great song, with great lyrics and a great vibe, and Dave sings it perfectly - but let's face it, the MAGIC has always been in the HIGH HARMONY expression and arrangement - and THOSE guys nailed it with PERFECTION !!!
One of the lovliest songs of the 70's -- and among my all time faves. Dave Mason was massively underrated -- released two or three albums in that decade which contain one great song after another. Sounds really good here, too.
I love this song..I choke up everytime I hear it. You cannot beat this band in live performances because they sing the songs exactly as on their albums, with NO over-improvising bullsh*t!!
Timeless classic. You're first pulled in by the acoustic guitars, and the lyrics keep you, with their sad story of two people who've grown apart. And he can't help but entertain one last thought of giving it another go ("...have you got a place to stay..."), which is a place many of us have been, and have tried. And finally the sad but peaceful resolution ("...so let's leave it alone...there's only you and me and we just disagee...."). Beautiful.
This was my mom and dad's song even after marrying and divorcing twice!! As my mother was dying of cancer my dad would visit and I could see the love he had for her in his eyes. I miss you both with all my heart.
Such a lush and beautiful song..with vocals that can NEVER be imitated. They sing from the heart and the soul. Where can you else get this?? With a band that trues perform from the heart...I love you guys...
Dave is the man! This song makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Saw Dave at Mohawk Park in Tulsa in 1992. Saw him again when he played lead for Fleetwood Mac in place of Lindsey Buckingham a couple of years after that. They did one of his tunes to open the show before introducing him. We Just Disagree was next and it brought the house down. Sweet!
Gorgeous song from a woefully underrated performer - easily onoe of my all time fave pieces. He released two or three albums in the mid/late 70's that feature one great tune after another. A lot of really lovely, melodic stuff with consistently pleasant vocals. When you consider many other fading sixty year old rockers who remain out there doing their thing, DM's voice is still startlingly good. My bro was at this show and was very impressed. My only beef with this song is that it is too short!
Like a lot of people....who heard this great tune in 1975.....we were a bit lost...I was divorced already and then..I thought of her..I guess I still loved her.
so many years, memories! vocals are TIGHT the HARMONY!!! i want to COMMAND THE MUSIC INDUSTY to HOLD MASTER CLASSES with the old timers, most of these youngsters... *shaking my head* have NOTHING on this sound!!!
Quality never gets old! Great song then...Great song now!! THANKS,The current generation's music(for the most part) CAN'T TOUCH IT!! ROCK ON & GOD BLESS!
I love this song! Just saw him Oct 2, 2012 at The Lyric Theatre. It was just him and another guy on acoustic guitars and it was beautiful! Such a great voice this man has!!!...and he's such a great storyteller, too!!Funny!! :) Would see him again in a heartbeat!!! Love you, Dave!!!Such a nice guy- he even signed autographs after the show for everyone in line even though he was feeling ill that night, still did an amazing job!
I'm sure he has performed this hundreds of times yet he stays true to the original format- the respect for the song and it's simplicity endears it to those of us who have lived it and loved it.
Man I love this song! I was a Senior in high school when it came out. make me feel like an old fart now. But the hell with it it's still a great song and I like Dave Masons version the best.
Dave carries me back many years when i first became a DJ on a freestyle rock station...his voice is still just as clean and unmistakable as it was then...i think my favs are this one --of course---will u still love me tomorrow, and let it go, let it flow. THANK YOU DAVE FOR SHARING ONE OF YOUR MANY TALENTS WITH ALL OF US! NIK
I have to say although this song is a few years before my time it is one of the best songs EVER!!! And I must add he sound terrific all these years later!
I have been a fan forever and he just keeps getting better. Saw him in Carson City in the 80's. Just him and another guy, I hardly breathed for an eternity. Just wow, always. His voice is a caress and a promise
I saw dave mason and band in a small club in Ma. about 2 years ago and it was all along the watchtower that brought the house down but his entire set was great truely a professional that loves what he does!!!
wow...Dave Mason is one of my all time faves. Had the opportunity to open a show for him at a club in Harrisburg PA about 15 years ago. One of the most underated songwriters ever. thanks for the video
As I said below, this song was written by Jim Krueger, who grew up in Northeast Wisconsin and died here 20 years ago. The story behind it is less flashy than described by Mr. Cianfarani, but easier for the rest of us to relate to. I was told by Jim's closest friends that it was written after Jim had a bad break with a special longtime girlfriend who had been his highschool sweetheart. Dave Mason once jokingly urged Jim's current girlfriend to dump him, so Jim could write another hit for him.
You know, they say good back-up musicians/ drummers, pianists, back-up vocals, sax, & so on are a "dime a dozen". I humbly submit...I JUST DISAGREE!! These guys had some damn good chemistry that took "hard work" So, many yrs later w/ (I'd imagine) some different people than were on the original recording they ALL sound GREAT!! Well Done! NOTHING LIKE KEEPING THE CLASSICS ALIVE!! G.B.
One of the best songs ever written, IMO. Mason's such a brilliant singer/songwriter... There are artists today who may well reach the iconic staus that Mason and his contempraries have, but they're few and far between. Ahh, the memories!
Saw Dave Mason in Austin, Texas in 1988 and let me tell you, this guy is the real deal. And as a drummer of some note, HIS drummer, Rick Jager just blew me away. Tight is the best word to describe him. Dave, you're one of the most underated stars in the sky. But I and many others know where you are.
I like this version with the piano even better than the original with the organ. The rawness and power of the piano compliments the 12 string perfectly.

This was my Divorce song back in 78' along with "Piece of Wood & Steel" by David Allen Coe 👍 Rock On Dave Mason 🎸
L
The laid back sound of the 70’s!😊
Is it just me or was there a Priest playing acoustic guitar?
U r so right best song ever and ever is a long long time🫧🔥🔥☮️☮️☮️☮️♥️♥️💯💯☮️☮️☮️

Dave's voice is as great today as it was in the 70s.
Thank You Dave Mason. The sound of a 12 string acoustic guitar is second to none. Not enough guitarist play them. One of my favorite songs ever.
I was surprised to hear how much the musicianship in this live version sounds like the actual vinyl record, even some 30 years after originally being first recorded! This live version by Dave Mason's band is nothing short of excellent!
Bravo, Dave Mason!
This a great version. Maybe the best one ever!
Nice, but wish the mix was better
I agree
Absolutely beautiful, better than the original!
Yasss!!!

One of the best mellow rock songs of all time...standing ovation for this gem!
This is so so so good. I've discovered this song thanks to Rick Beato. Thank you Rick and thank you Dave mason. This is so cool.
Dave's voice has mellowed like a fine red wine
This is one of my favorite songs of all time
One of the greatest 70s songs that nobody ever thinks about....till you mention it and you get the OHHHH YEAHHH!
Just beautiful, gives me chills when they all sing, perfect harmony :)
This guy just oozes talent. A great vocalist, and effortless guitar playing. A pleasure to watch and listen.
In my opinion,.......and i personally play this song,....that was without a doubt,...the best i have ever heard that song played,...i will emulate this version evrytime i play this tune from now on,....beautiful,..
Poe397 I think it’s BETTER than the original 👍🏻
His voice is more clear and pronounced here most of the song!! More sharp vocally than the studio version!
I just said the same thing in a comment on another one of his songs a few minutes ago. His musical history is impressive to say the least. Yet somehow, people just don't know who he is. Brings back wonderful memories from another era....good people...real people....direct...funny...non politically correct. Great times !

This song was a hit just when my first wife and I separated. It hit home then and even now brings back some bittersweet memories.
Guys like this dont banish into thin air their here to stay forever and ever, amen.
Awh,forgot how much I loved this song!!!❤
This was my mom and dad's song even after marrying and divorcing twice!! As my mother was dying of cancer my dad would visit and I could see the love he had for her in his eyes. I miss you both with all my heart.

Sitting in my bunker listing to this on an 8 track powered by a car battery, even the soul brothers liked this.
Cool song aye? One of his many hit's!
holy crap. this sounds golden.

I love this song. My fondest memory is about 5 years ago . My three sons & I sang this song at a friends wedding dance. It was great .
Seen him perform as part of Fleetwood Mac back in the late 90s in Charlotte NC. This song was the highlight of the show!
This soothes my soul. During this pandemic stuff

Wow. I never get tired of this.
Mr. Mason thank you so much for wonderful music...lol I wasn't born until 1978 but am glad you started before me!!!
This performance is beautiful, probably one of the best I've seen.
Takes me back to my days in Cali in '77 . It can never be the same, people, friendshave passed, moved on. My journey is malencholy
Hard to comprehend why 32 people would give this beautiful song a "thumbs down".
Hard to find another bond with a 12 string and it's maestro such as these 2. 70's legends, the music lives on
he still has it,as everyone is saying. Thanks for the post and thanks to Dave for sharing his gift with us......still
This song takes me back to long ago when life was a little easier than it is today.
This song epitomizes the 1970s, and totally takes me back.
As great as ever.and I got to open for him at jefferson Hall near Cincinnati..What an honor and privelidge!
I'm sure he has performed this hundreds of times yet he stays true to the original format- the respect for the song and it's simplicity endears it to those of us who have lived it and loved it.
This is the best version of the song - ever.
This song has brought me peace and sanity when there wasn't any to be found. Thanks Dave...
Man I love this song! I was a Senior in high school when it came out. make me feel like an old fart now. But the hell with it it's still a great song and I like Dave Masons version the best.

Heard the song on the radio recently and it's totally applicable to my divorce. Great and truthful lyrics, The harmonies are the Bomb.
I have to say although this song is a few years before my time it is one of the best songs EVER!!! And I must add he sound terrific all these years later!
One of the legends of rock music. So underated for his music and voice as well.
Whoever thought of a falsetto harmony, well, it is just brilliant. This song truly is timeless, as mentioned earlier.
story and music so aptly put together to make a truism that is a timeless classic tune I like to sing along with Thank you Dave!
I have been a fan forever and he just keeps getting better. Saw him in Carson City in the 80's. Just him and another guy, I hardly breathed for an eternity. Just wow, always. His voice is a caress and a promise

Shoot, I wish I would have known.
@@GenXguy69 sorry . He was at the music pier in Ocean City, Nj . Crazy good
Dave Mason's very best song...and the depth of 2 - 12 string guitars really elevates the music.
This song is absolutely perfect-lyrically, musically-in every respect. A classic for sure.
You know, they say good back-up musicians/ drummers, pianists, back-up vocals, sax, & so on are a "dime a dozen". I humbly submit...I JUST DISAGREE!! Great song and now even bigger as the MODERATE UPDATE THEME on the Famous EIB Network. Terrific!
I like this version with the piano even better than the original with the organ. The rawness and power of the piano compliments the 12 string perfectly.
