Every time a friend will come and ask me "Why is my featherweight not doing ......?" I tell them to go to your website, or I find the answer to their question and tell them to watch your video. I purchased this gauge and am very thankful you invented it. Thank you for helping the public who love this little machines. They are wonderful.
What happens if it is set too low? Why that height? Could you also lower the lever and press the foot against the plate? It can't go lower, so why would you spring need to try and push it lower? My guess is that height has some tolerance builtin if some feet attachments are shorter than the one it came with.
Hello, I hope you can help me with this. I am wanting to purchase an XR9550 Sewing Machine, soon. I am wondering if you know whether that particular machine can handle thick fabrics. On a sewing machine I've had before, when I tried to place multiple layers of fabric underneath the presser foot, and, I tried to lower the foot in place (low enough to hear it click and "engage") the presser foot lever would either not "engage" or it would break/crack. Is there a way to get the multiple layers of fabric underneath the presser foot and "engage" the actual presser foot on the machine I'm wanting to buy, without running the risk of breaking or damaging the presser foot lever or the machine ? Thank You So Much for answering my questions if you can.
I love these videos. I have taken my machine in for repair because it grabs the fabric as I am sewing. I have taken it apart, even the bobbin casing mechanism and have found no threads. I have checked the height of the pressure feet, I have checked the presser bar, I have bought the tool to check the pressure foot. I have also changed the needle. It still grabs the machine. I would appreciate any ideas you may have.
This is Wonderfully Genius! I don't even have a Featherweight ( YET lol). My question would be ... would this nifty gadget/ tool be useful on an early 70's KENMORE 1560? I enjoy tools & gadgets you can display proudly🤩 With this.. It would be a joy ! 👏🏼
That's a good question! On the product description there is a list of tested Singer model machines. We do not have a Kenmore or other models here to test, but let us know if it works for you.

I have a Jones will this work with that also?? My foot looks thicker I would think that wouldn't matter in this instance though.
Is that the same height for a 15-91? I could use that guide if it is!

Check out the Getting to Know Your Featherweight series on the Featherweight Schoolhouse. Sounds like you are turning your handwheel backwards.
*And on the 222K, one could just drop the feed dogs when doing the adjustment.

Does this work on other machines?
It can, but it was designed for the Singer Featherweight, so functionality would be at customer assessment only.
Thank you!!!!
Where can we get the tool?
