Olivia Forrest pt all depends on your cadre. But pt will be harder maybe. It was up to the cadre when I went through but towards the end they had a set plan so it wasn't too bad. It really all depends on the cadre but for me it was harder but you will start to love it after the first few times
Slime Drip i’m sure 70 isn’t what you *have* to get on the ASVAB to get secfo but it’s what i got. and you have to be able to lift a certain weight to qualify for the job as well.
Dude...I was at Langley (1984-86) when I came back from Turkey as a Cop!! I was only on Flight for a month or 2, then I was assigned to Headquarters TAC Command Guard!!
I used to work Community Policing over in housing. We just wore the LE duty belt and second chance vest under our blouse. They probably don’t even have a station out in housing anymore.
James Long we still have police units on housing but it's not always the same people. Swap it around plus we have special posts during the summer out there for additional units
Nunya Business don’t cross train dude, it’s not worth it. been in for awhile now and there’s nothing cool or high speed about sf. you’re either a gate guard or sitting doing nothing watching nukes for 12 hours. no holidays off. and half the career field is salty special ops washouts.
Nice video man. Security Forces will be the first career field I will choose after i am done with college. I already looked into the Officer route and just getting into O.T.S. is such a long time and I do not have the patience to wait that long. In general, keep up with the security forces content. Another thing you can try pointing out in Security Forces is: the other things you can do besides doing gate guard duty.
Funni Asian Man yes, that is very true a lot of people go enlisted because of the wait time. Subscribe to the channel to get first dips on new content. I will be putting out another video of how I set up my gear along with more bmt and tech school videos. Thank you for the support.
Nicole P. Any job or any base you get is all based off your attitude if you bring positivity with you and keep it you will enjoy anywhere you go and have positive effects on the people around you.
I'm a C/O and I wear body armor all the time taking my prisoners outside the institution and it keeps you nice and warm in the winter but is miserable in the summer
Talis Kadzejs so there is a radio pouch on the inside of the the vest on the right and left side for the radio. Or you can put a radio pouch on the outside if it is not comforter able to use the one already built in.
Is the UCMJ much different than the us criminal justice system? because I have an associates degree in criminal justice and am wondering if it's a completely different ball game
BlueEagle447 you have to use their plates as for plate carrier it is commanders decision. We were wearing our own carriers until we got our ocp ones in now we are wearing what is issued. No reason to put that wear and tear on stuff you bought yourself you know what I mean?
Jacob Tyler awesome man. You will have some fun and devolope some some great friendships. Congrats to you and good luck. If you have any questions shoot me a message.
@@benaferhc5 Thanks for that info! I hear that the Air Force is looking to upgrade to the Sig Sauer M18 soon. This could be a good thing when you consider that you can mount a light on it.
William Cattr so the air force is switching over it is just taking time to get it out to everyone. We are supposed to be getting ours this year. And we will have tac lights for ours at our unit. It is very handy to have a light on your weapon just another tool if you need it.
@@benaferhc5 Yes, it looks like a good choice over the Beretta. My Glock 30 had the streamlight tac light (though without the laser option). This is the video that I saw on this issue: ruclips.net/video/5sZ4fg0vI3c/видео.html
TrizerFlame to get into K9 or CATM you’ll need a certain amount of time on station, that’s how it was for me. I had the opportunity to go CATM but decided a second deployment might’ve been a better option. For your second question those two are the only other shreds in the career field.
Two questions for ya, hoping you reply haha. Would Security Forces officers be issued the same gear and do officers get to do the task as enlisted? (such as patrol, gates, etc.)
Iowa Gaming most new officers will go to nuke bases and I don't know how it work out there. Our lowest officer here is a o-3 and they do back office stuff they don't patrol gates are anything mostly admin. I'm sure they do more but that's what we see
ThatCopGuy Dang, alright. I’m the type of person that likes hands on but the only way I’m allowed into the AF is if I become an officer. So I’m trying to figure out which jobs for officers would be the most hands on.
Iowa Gaming why are you only allowed in as a officer I haven't really heard that before? And honestly I dont know much about it but pretty sure most officer jobs are more of a admin position. But if you want hands on for sure go special operations. You will have hands on.
Iowa Gaming so the way my SF leadership goes is airman superstores usually staffs then you have flight chiefs which are tech or Msgt and that compiles our flight all of our officers and everyone above e-7 is back office. Honestly you can do cooler stuff as enlisted but officer definitely pays more. I get where your parents are coming from thinking officers are safer which he's is possible but if you want to do a more hands on job the enlisted side is the way to go. That is why we have chiefs because the enlisted path and officer path are different.
I’m kinda late but once I graduate HS I leave July 13th!!!! I’m nervous but excited also Security forces is what I choose my mind just kept telling me to choose it!!
Security forces hasn’t seen combat in some time. He’s probably at a regular cop base and does actual LE I haven’t done LE since I got out of tech school. I went to the 820th they have a specific mission. The last SF unit to see combat, as far as I know I could be wrong, was the 823d in Iraq shen Ssgt TJ Lobracko cama under fire. So don’t let this boot discourage you from enlisting man.
Anthony Phillips TJ was killed outside of Bagram, Afghanistan on a Reaper mission. I was there 1 month after. And SF does see combat/expeditionary area, obviously it depends on where you do and the nature of the situation. Now certain units, or sections are more likely to see combat then others yes. 820th, CRG, DAGREs, even K9. Just depends on where you’re going and all that
Stratt really all depends. Most likely no especially not the plates they are serialized. But some of the gear maybe depends if they switch and the funding. But usually no its the air forces property
RichardsMotorsports I think it's different in other branches or your just wrong because what I know is you have to return vest and helmet and that's it
Omar Henderson I believe overall around the 70's but it is broken up into a bunch of different sub sections and that's how most jobs are determined on how you score in each sub section.
I'm Marky it depends on the base, some bases you will be there and only there for a while other bases you will tdy alot and you have the opportunity to pcs but they aren't going to give you a new base every year. You will probly be at the same base for 3 years and just tdy to other bases
I was at Vandenberg and we were mainly focused on security. Gates and restricted areas. Seeing as how VAFB is a space command base, there are a lot of restricted areas that need to be secured. But all bases have SF that are dedicated primarily to law enforcement. I was able to get onto very few LE patrols, mainly getting stuck on a gate or roaming patrol around launch sites or sitting in the penalty box checking restricted area badges. Boring job. Did my 4 and got out. Opened up the option to join up with a civilian police department though. So the experience and having it on my resume helped.
Brad Morrison Well this was back in ‘98. I know a lot of army bases contract out their gate security. I don’t know if the AF does. It was a shitty detail. I used to man this gate at Vandenberg called Solvang gate. It was in the middle of nowhere and I’d work 12’s sitting on that gate without anyone ever coming through it. And this was before iPhones and portable DVD players. So you’d just sit there with a magazine and/or a radio. Very boring indeed.
jay adams so your certs are different certifications you can get from different classes. Also tdy is temporary duty could be like a four day tdy to go to protect some planes at a air show or tdy to another country there's alot of different kind of tdys
ThatCopGuy that sounds cool 😎 what do you need to score on the asvab to qualify for that job I read you need at least a 36 but wasn’t sure if that was true
Caleb Craig cameras aren't cheap lol. And I don't make money making videos so getting a new camera is a plan but not my main priority. My later videos had bad editing software I have cleaned it up a little bit to make it look better.
