I have met them both at them same convention in Stuttgart, Karen and Pom were amazing, but had the best experience I ever had at a convention with Pom because I speak french like a native speaker, and she was so happy to talk french at a convention in Germany, and she said oh please sit next to me, and we were talking like 20 minutes, and during these 20 minutes Karen joined us for like 8 minutes lol because she was like wtf are those two talking, thank you two for giving me my best convention experience ever :D
I'll say this for the French. While they hate anybody who isn't French , at least they hate all non French equally. I had a long tour of Europe in the 1990s traveling with a bunch of Australians and everywhere we went (especially Austria) I was treated differently (more rudely, subtle and not so subtle racism etc) from the Australians EXCEPT for the French who were just awful to us ALL equally. As odd as it may sound that made me feel better and I kind of admire them a little for it.
As an half scots (from Lowlands, not Highlands like Karen Gillan) and half french, i knew all of these slangs and it was really funny to see them trying to understand it.
These two are wonderfully chaotic 😂 Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 is now out in cinemas! Check out our interview with Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana below 🔥 ruclips.net/video/wO0MKgUFom4/видео.html
They were perfectly cast as Nebula and Mantis. Nebula is intense and Mantis is an innocent learning something everyday. Most actors, men or women, couldn't pull that kind of acting off.
These gals' chemistry is amazing and cant wait for their scenes in Guardians Vol 3. Cant wait for the film and hope to get Hemsworth's Thor, Howard The Duck, Kevin Bacon, The Collector And Zac Efron As Nova.

"Canon" is a word to designate a body model référence in art. It is originally a scholar's word of sustained register that became popular in the 1990s to refer to a reference beauty. French slang is generally vulgar, but not for this word.
I think they say that 90% of everything we say verbally is pointless filler (but cozy though), and further that another 90% of communication is non-verbal. Which means that 1% of communication is useful words while the rest is just cozy noises and flailing about. And I am 100% here for that.
Is it just French from France or is it a mix with Québecois ? Because I've never heard "Dauber" in France, to mean "They smell bad", in France it's "Shlinger". "Daube" is used when something is "Bad", like for example : "This movie was really bad" - "Ce film c'était de la daube".
Globalement, l'argot proposé en Français avait entre 10 et 20 ans de retard... On n'utilise pratiquement plus des mots comme " thon " ou " Canon ", et " Dauber " a vu son sens évoluer parce que le terme a apparu dans les années 2000...

No wonder I enjoyed the film, they seemed to have great fun making it. It might be worthwhile making a fun movie every year with this group, an optimistic world changing movie!

That was fun. Two things: 1) "dauber" (to stink) isn't that commonly used in french. The verb "puer" is much more. And 2) 1:22 It's "THON". Very professional, IGV. Oh, and "thon" is only used for girls. Karen Gillan, in addition to being fucking gorgeous, always seems so much fun.
Karen is definitely drawing Nebula from a deep well, but Pom is MUCH more Mantis than I ever thought 😁
Exactly lol
Spot on observation!
I thought this exact thing the first time she cackle-laughed
Yes! I was thinking the same thing
Yes 😂
Being French and Scottish myself, I loved seeing them guessing the other's language slang. It was a brilliant watch
Karen deserves endless recognition for her performances as Nebula she dug hella deep to find Nebs personality. Great Job Karen 👍🏾🙏🏾
Did you see the interview where she revealed the single sentence direction that nailed her character? “Marilyn Monroe crossed with Clint Eastwood”.
I think Nebula came from the same place ‘frozen in time’ Amy did
@@vladimirimpwow that’s perfect

Mantis has become my favorite GotG character and they really upgraded Nebula. Great film and great performances by these two.

Pom's accent is the cutest thing ever lol
Loved how Karen mixed her fake American accent with her real Scottish a little in this 😂

The French and the Scots have been allies for nearly a thousand years. You can see the Auld Alliance in action in this video. What a pair.

Pom and Karen need to make this an ongoing series 🤣🤩
I enjoyed watching them together too. Great video!
When Karen said "your discusting" she sounded alittle bit like Nebula 😂 i love it

no wonder i fucking love mantis voice in the movies. Shes french. I love a girl with a french accents
wow I had no idea Pom was french and Karen Scottish! ❤
Pom and her cool-ness is so attractive ❤
If Disney every makes a live action Brave Karen should be cast as Merida
Just because of the red hair and the accent?
Don’t you think she is a bit too tall, skinny and old for the role?
Merida’s Mom, though…

tuna is thon not tohn 1:20 btw
Regarding the French word for "tuna," it's spelled "thon," but it's pronounced "tohn." French has its silent letter combos, just as English has.
I'd say "thon" is pronounced like the english word taunt but without the last "t".
@@shinmopi Well, sort of. Not that much. Our nasals are pretty unique.
Ton
Why would it be pronounced tohn ?
The only "silent" letter in the word Thon is the h.
Karen is more Amy Pond than nebula
You can't reason why French words are the way they are. The language is truly a language of feeling and not of structure.
Doctor Who companion? Nebula? My mind is blown today years old when I found this out
