I've grown up watching you across this decade. When this decade began, I was 6 years old, and had no idea what was ahead of me. I started watching your channel in 2013 when I was 9 years old, and basically only thought of myself as a weird kid who played too much Pokemon. Across these last years I've changed so much, discovered so much about myself and who I am, and am now thriving better than ever before. But across all the good and bad and completely different years I've been through across the last decade, despite discovering that the life I was living was a lie last year and now living as my true self with a new name and friends who support me, I've never stopped watching and loving your videos the moment they've come out. Guess after everything I still am just a weird kid who plays too much Pokemon. This list feels nice early in the new decade as this year has already felt like a massive time for reflection for me, and as long as you're still making videos I'll still be watching them. Thanks for being such a strong role model for me when I really needed one :) - Daisy
Only TamashiiHiroka can make a games of the decade almost one month in... wait two videos in the year so far!!! Excuse me, I need to have a heart attack.
Sometimes the best games aren't the most pretty or well-designed, they're the ones you needed at that point in your life. That's how it was for me with Slime Rancher (though it still is a very pretty and well designed game, lol). I picked up that game during a time in my life where everything felt unstable, and I struggled to find any small pleasures. Slime Rancher was just this perfect, happy little game. It was just a cute, relaxing experience that I really needed at the time.
I’m so, so happy that you’re in a better place now. I started watching your videos at 12 years old, and I’m turning 21 next week! You’ve always been an inspiration to me as a gamer, a content creator, and honestly just as a person. Thank you for being the person you are, and may this next decade be everything you want it to be ♡
@@Tama-Hero I'm sure looking foward to see you explore your opinions on that, whenever you decide to do a review of the Gen 1 remakes. However long it may take... (I'm crossing my fingers so that it doesn't take forever, but still, take your time with it) Also, hopefully the fanbase doesn't go bonkers whenever you decide to cover that. Everyone I heard, besides you, says the remakes make the original Gen 1 completly obselete.
A marvelous way to start 2020, with a decade spanning retrospective, full of personality and growth. It's so true that games mirror our hearts in how we choose to enjoy them, and I've found that my journey has reflected this as well. So thank you for sharing your journey with us all, and may this new decade be an excellent one~!
That was quite the intense, emotional Journey you took us through with such a simple top 10, but honestly I completely feel you, I went from an idiot to a suicidal mess to some approximation of an adult to (most surprisingly) a girl and God, I didn't realize how much of a roller coaster 10 years could be
Wow, I didn't expect a games of the decade video to give me such feels. I'm really happy that you've been able to recover. I hope your next decade is wonderful.
HeartGold and soul silver specifically heartGold (because I was biased for ho-oh's theme) was my favorite game of 2010 Sonic Generations was my favorite for 2011. You were one of the first youtubers I ever watched along with proto Mario back in the day, seeing this list made me feel old like really old Also thanks for noticing my very high IQ and that kids aren't dumb because I can say with confidently say I understood the plot of black 2 and White 2
Found your channel in 2012, back when I was just a kid. always appreciated your insight in the pokemon series. Wish you all the best for this decade, too.
An absolutely amazing video! I love the part where you're struggling to pick between HGSS and New Vegas, so you're like "picking a favourite game this year is like picking favourite kidney". Also, something about your voice seems different here, like in a good way. You sound more confident, more sassy and less nasally 🙂 Overall, fantastic job, I look forward to the next video!
Honestly those two are just really special titles in their series. HG/SS are not only the best remakes but they have so much content. New Vegas was a buggy mess at launch and is still unreliable on PS3, but it is so much better at being a Fallout game than 4 and 76 combined because of the dark themes/side quests and letting you play any kind of character you want because it's a true open world RPG.
I was happy to see this. You put a great list together. This was an odd decade for me, starting pretty mild, then getting bad, then good again, then incredible, and crashing to a screeching halt near the end. I'm still recovering from a tragic experience last year. Things like Detective Pikachu [game and film] came at just the right time for me there. But I also refound my love for video games after the Wii U came out. During the previous generation, I kind of fell out of playing video games, most things released during that period didn't interest me. Gaming was in this weird "brown & gritty" phase & I'm not about that, lmao Some of my favourite games were released this decade -- HeartGold & SoulSilver, Bayonetta, the Earthbound VC release that I played the hell out of, Sonic Mania, Ace Attorney Dual Destinies, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, the Ace Attorney/Layton crossover, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Dragonball FighterZ, I could really keep going. I think the main two games that really brought me back into playing video games again were Bayonetta and Super Mario 3D World, some of the first Wii U games I played & fell in love with. I even recorded a livestream of me & my brothers playing 3D World a few years ago. It's a nice memory.
This was a really wholesome video to watch. I enjoyed seeing how video games helped shape your life and how it helped you cope through the hard times in life as well. Also I like seeing how smaller games like Everybody's Golf can get a spot on someones list because everyone's definition of what makes a game special to them is different and interesting to see.
Though they may be infrequent these days, I'm always happy to see an upload from you! Weirdly 2015 held a solid amount of trauma for me, too. But I've also come a long way and I'm happy to hear you've found stability and happiness. A good amount of your Games Of the Decade were some of my favorites, too! Especially Outer Worlds. Here's to another decade of getting better and good games! 💖💖
Being the Pokémon fan everyone knows you for, it’s always nice to see you talk about the other games you enjoy! I was just 11 when the decade began and I’m 21 now, so I’ve experienced my pre-teen years, my adolescent years and my first few years as an adult all in this one decade! My taste in games has certainly evolved over the years as well. Platformers such as Sonic and Mario were definitely my preferred genre when I was 11, but now as a young adult I’m more into Action/Adventure games, Puzzle games, visual novels and RPGs. Pokémon has always been a series I’m most fond of, though and even though I don’t invest nearly as much of my time into Pokémon as I did in my childhood and adolescence, it’ll always be my favourite game series of all time. It’s fascinating how your tastes in games change with you as you grow. This is one of the many reasons I love video games as a medium.
It so interesting to me that I for the life of me could not tell you how I started watching tama videos. I have no idea when it was or who/what led me to this channel. But over the decade there’s no doubt I have been watching and growing with you. Even though We don’t know each other in the slightest, have never and probably will never meet it still feels I shared this decade with someone. As I’ve watched tama grow and change and go through things I’ve also watched my self grow up through the same sorts of things. I guess this just goes to show the magic of the internet huh. Basically, whatever it was that brought me to this channel all those years ago, I’m sure glad i ended up here.
That entry on Undertale...... wow,,, I think we had extremely similar experiences with 2015 (something traumatic happening at the end of 2014, 2015 being spent scrambling to recover/run away from it.....), and Undertale was also one of the only bright spots I had that year. It gave me something to think about, something examine, that wasn't my own horrible situation, while also giving me something to Care about, too, with it's wonderful characters.
Your love of games displayed on this channel defined my love for games this last decade as I started watching your channel around 2010. As for favourite games, I’m undecided, but Pokémon GO was definitely one of the most happiest memories I have of the 2010s. Absolutely everyone was playing Pokémon GO and it was a shared joy and hype for whatever the next catch was. Here’s to the next decade, hope it’s a good one!
I wasn't expecting a top 10 list to make me low-key cry for a sec, but wow. I don't know what it is about 2015 being a crappy year for a lot of people, but I don't think it's a coincidence that Undertale was such an influential game for so many people. Just seeing random game footage after all this time really took me back. Thank you for having the courage to talk about all that stuff so frankly, it's very comforting to know how the latter half of this decade in gaming affected some other people who were going through tough times. Even a lot of these comments have been reassuring. And having fewer uploads these days just means we appreciate each one that much more (but seriously that game room reorganizing one was super great)
Your Pokemon Go video is one of my favorites of yours, and so wonderfully encompassed the emotions i felt during that early time. I'm glad it made it to this video!
Oh my god! I love your description of WW vs NL. I LOVE WW. I put in so many hours. I put in a lot of hours into NL as well, but not nearly as much. Your description of the games finally put into words what I loved so much about them and how they are different. I didn't even fully realize the distinction until you said it. Thank you
My list would go like this, with a lot of Pokemon and Nintendo games: 2010: Pokemon Heart Gold, this is personal favorite Pokemon game. Or Xenoblade Chronicles, it is one of my fav games OAT but I have more memories with HG from when I was a child and I didn't play it when until years later. 2011: Super Mario 3D World, I have always loved Mario games and this is the point where I started to get good. 2012: Fire Emblem Awakening: This was the first FE game I got invested in and I loved ever minute of playing it. I remember getting so invested in the characters, story, and game play. For the longest time this was my top FE game. 2013 Pokemon X: At this time my 3ds was broken for a while and I had just gotten it fixed just in time to experience this new era of 3d pokemon games. And at the time I was quite excited to see where the series would go. 2014: Smash Bros 4 Wii U &/or Mario Kart 8: I remember play these games for countless hours with my friends and laughing. But I didn't buy a Wii U until the next year. Pokemon Omega Ruby is an honorable mention. 2015: Xenoblade Chronicles X: I bought a Wii U just for this game, I loved exploring the planet of Mira and running threw the plains of this alien world has stuck to me till this day. 2016: Pokemon Moon: I this was the first game I preordered, and it is a contender for one of my top Pokemon games. 2017: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 &/or Fire emblem echos Shadows of Valentia: I bought the special edition of Xenoblade 2 before I even had a Switch, and I have spent well over 300 hours playing the game. As for FE SoV when I picked it up I thought it would become my fav. FE game and I was right, it was easily the most challenging FE game I had played and I enjoyed the challenge. The story was the best out of the three FE games I had played ( Awakening, Fates, and SoV). 2018: Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, I had just started College and this game brought me back to a simpler time that reminded me of my childhood. Although I did feel the game play was a bit simplistic, I enjoyed playing it. 2019: Super Neptunia RPG &/or Fire Emblem 3H, I had recently became a fan of the Neptunia series was excited to see how the first entry on a Nintendo platform would go. I was quite happy with the writing between the characters and I laughed a bunch. And for FE3H it had the game play and character writing I had expected and I was not disappointed, I was a fantastic game.
Honestly I totally feel you on the personal/life shift in regards to gaming. I still enjoy it but nowadays it's more of a casual thing for me VS purely being my job and it's honestly refreshing. I feel like I can enjoy it more/again as opposed to feeling like I'm forcing myself to play something for content or whatever. Plus having a "real" job instead of doing content creation full-time plays a part in that. (yay stability!) Sending you all the good vibes for 2020!
This comment is relatively late as I’m just starting to watch your videos again. However, I still remember how I started the decade as a sickly eight year old who used to hole myself up with my ds and my iPod watching your Pokémon videos alongside other prominent Pokémon youtubers of that time. A lot has happened in ten years, puberty mostly affecting that process lol. I still enjoyed Pokémon up until 2018/2019 where I started getting busy with school and then college apps and just stopped paying attention to video games in order to focus on school. I’m more of a casual gamer now but hoping to get back into Pokémon and other Nintendo games before college classes start up. It’s been heartening to see you uploading videos even now and your essay style videos are enthralling as well with the research and the passion you put into these videos!
I seem to float back and forth among your subscriber count over the years. Coming back to this on top of the Silver/Gold/Crystal review has been a great reminder of why I subscribed initially. Wonderful work on these.
Congrats on graduating. You and a few other channels got me through my last year of university back in 2016. It sucked not knowing what I was going to be doing or where, and my living situation at the time wasn't ideal. However, those pokemon videos were fun to watch and got me through everything, so thanks for all you've done.
Aaaa, it’s always a happy moment when I see a vid from your channel in my sub feed. 2:24 Woah, them’s battling words, ngl as someone who’s currently playing HGSS for the first time right now (currently doing Kanto gyms), I have to disagree, they’re good games but man is the grind strong. Honestly, so far I would put them on the lower end of my personal Pokémon tier list, they’re still good games but I feel like they’re overhyped. Good picks, with thought out reasons, I’m happy to see this video and I hope subsequent years are great for you :)
Tony The Tony Not just for red, throughout the whole game, and I’m someone who battles every trainer + does everything possible as soon as it’s available. I’m not even grinding for Red yet though I fear it. It’s not just the speed, it’s the balancing with wild Pokémon levels compared to trainer levels so you get barely any exp. Heck I’m someone who doesn’t mind grinding in games or is bothered by HGSS battle pace, it’s just something that I see and have to dock points for even though I’m not extremely bothered by it.
Samuel Turner yea the highest levelled wild Pokémon aren’t levelled enough and the lack in the variety of types makes training up certain Pokémon annoying. It’s just frustrating and not something I have to deal with past Gen 4 too much.
Tony The Tony Agreed, which is basically most of my problems with HGSS, I basically overlook this for gen 2 but since HGSS is a remake I feel like they could’ve fixed this.
Had no idea the middle of the 2010s were so hard on you. Here's hoping this one is a better one. May you continue to pursue projects and opportunities you're passionate about, RUclips and beyond.
Really good video. Heart-warming in a lot of way. Your narration has also improved quite a lot. If interested, my games of the decade are: 2010: Xenoblade Chronicles (Even though it didn't come to America until 2012) 2011: Skyrim 2012: Scribblenauts Unlimited 2013: Wind Waker HD (Port but still what I liked the most) 2014: Bayonetta 2 2015: BloodBorne 2016: DOOM 2017: Mario Odyssey/Xenoblade 2 2018: Spider-Man/Smash Ultimate 2019: Devil May Cry 5.
Haha, I know I'm a month late to this video, but it's so weird to think about the fact that I started watching this channel back in 2013, when I was only 9 years old, and I still come back here to this day, being 16 now. I feel like we've both growth through these years, though differently, of course. I still love gaming, I still love RUclips, and I still love your channel. I don't think any amount of growth will ever truly change that. Here's to another decade! :) (My comments are messy and rambly, but the point is, thanks for being here on RUclips. You and your videos make a lot of people happy, myself included, and they have for years. I'm hoping to see you continue to grow, both online and in your own life, throughout these next years. You're doing great :) Keep it up.)
ill be honest i dont remember when i subbed to you, but im glad i did and the personal feeling of this video really resonated with me, i do the whole personal decade thing to, 2009 is my year since its when i made my channel and left highschool for college. feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago at the same time. anyway thank you for this. it was a great video
Glad to know that you’re still doing well. I used to watch your content all the time growing up, and while I did miss your uploads, I’m glad too see that you’re doing well.
That was a great list with amazing picks as always Tamashii! More importantly, your personal journey and how that connected with video games was really nice to see and am glad that you're in a good position now. I could somewhat relate to that and my relationship with games has changed to an extent - it's not something I usually connect with real life when thinking about it but the medium has shaped me so much over many years. It's weird to think where I was at the start of the 2010s when I was only a 7 year old.
I got a Wii U in 2015 and didn't bother getting Smash for it despite loving Melee and Brawl. I got Smash Ultimate though and it made me glad because I had two games worth of new characters to play around with. Although saying that, I enjoyed the release cycle of new content for a game I didn't even own. That says something about how special the series is.
Not really gaming related, but the 2010s was a time of emotional ups and downs for me. I had my dark years (2010, 2014, 2018) my rebuild years (2011, 2015, 2019) my good years (2012, 2016), and my truly excellent years (2013, 2017), but it's all relative, I guess.
I was honestly surprised at how many of your favorite games coincided with my own, and I went through some serious stuff at similar times as well. I think that shows just how much a good game can help you deal with a situation and take you somewhere else for a while when you need it. I deviated from you in 2012, because I really really enjoyed Fire Emblem Awakening. But otherwise... same! I'm glad that you seem to be in a better place and have a workload that's healthy and manageable. Here's to 2020!
My first ever video game was heart gold. My brother bought it for me for the holidays because he wanted to play it, but my grandfather got him soul silver. I liked lugia better but we were both to stubborn to switch. Heart gold introduced me to my love of video games, especially pokemon. I had this chikorita named "Leafman" who I trained to level 96 but was too scared to see what would happen if it got to level 100. I was in kindergarten at the time. I have some memory issues so I barely remember the first few years of the decade in my life but I remember finding your videos and watching and rewatching them on youtube while playing pokemon. My brother is away at college now and I'm in high school, but it's nice to know that I can come back and watch your videos, even if you don't make them as often.
I absolutely love hearing your perspective on games and how they impact you in certain times in your life. I think that's a trend and appeal in a lot of the videos you've made, and the ones I tend to remember most.
Stopped watching Pokemon stuff a few years ago, and just came back because of Temtem and omg I completely forgot about this channel. Glad to see she's still at it!
Boy how I noticed your voice has matured how a decade changes not just games and school and life itself but your voice too unless it's a new microphone you're using from the older videos you've done before but I just notice that how things just change so fast feels like yesterday I was just starting to watching your videos with your voice a pitch or two higher, but I like it a lot yeah I know a weird comment to make but I've just noticed it. Great video Tamashii hope your 2020 will go well for you even with this craziness going on with the virus.
I'll admit that I found the 2010's to be a very mixed decade in terms of my own life story and video games. In the last decade, I've gone from being an socially-awkward kid in 5th grade to becoming a much more confident young adult who's currently 2 and a half years out of high school (having graduated 2017) and on the hunt for a stable job as I prepare for my second attempt at 3-year college program... but in all that time leading up to this point, I think it's been the video games (and ALL the ups and downs companies have gone through) that have always kept me sane and motivated to keep pushing forward in life! Thanks, Tamashii, for reminding me that video games will always be a part of ME and those who truly love them (no matter how hard those who look down them may treat us)! On a total side note, I've really missed watching your channel too, so here's hoping the 2020's will be a decade that's FULL of great new game releases and tons of new video opportunities for you! By the way, my NUMBER ONE game of the decade is probably a four-way tie between PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, The Last of Us, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, simply because they were the games that I couldn't stop thinking about all throughout the 2010's! Here's a list of my favourite video games in each year if you're curious: 2010 Super Mario Galaxy 2 (My 5th Grade Obsession) 2011: LittleBigPlanet 2 (My Constant School Day Dream) and Mario Kart 7 (Took it on all my family road trips) 2012: New Super Mario Bros. 2 (Got a million coins within 2 years) and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (Even today, this game NEEDS a sequel) 2013: Animal Crossing New Leaf (My unhealthy year-long obsession), Super Mario 3D World (Beat three levels per homework break), and The Last of Us (My 9th-10th Grade Obsession that I completed over 15 times) 2014: Mario Kart 8 (Played it ALL THE TIME), Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (The year-long hype and obsession of teenage me needs NO EXPLANATION), and LittleBigPlanet 3 (Fun game, but it could be improved) 2015: Super Mario Maker (Gave my level creativity in LBP and hacked 2D Mario games a chance to truly shine) and Yoshi's Woolly World (Game was so cute, I got all 3 of the smaller Yarn Yoshi Amiibos) 2016: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief's End (My 11th-12th Grade Obsession) 2017: Horizon Zero Dawn (Still need to beat it), Crash Bandicoot: The N. Sane Trilogy (Also still need to beat it), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Best Kart-Racer EVER), and Super Mario Odyssey (Beat 100% a total of 4 TIMES, nuff said) 2018: Marvel's Spider-Man (The return of my childhood hero the way I ALONE remember him) and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (My Current Everlasting Obsession) 2019: Luigi's Mansion 3 (Still need to beat it) and Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fuelled (Not at as fun as Mario Kart, but a pretty fun time-killer)
Holy crap a new video? Well that's nice. Going off your commentary, I see that you ended up putting the RUclips thing behind you (at least not doing it full-time). I'm not active on Twitter and don't have Twitch so I wasn't really sure what was going on behind the scenes but the commentary said it all. Either way I am glad to hear that you are in a better place mentally not having to worry about battling RUclips's annoying algorithm and being under stress trying to get a video out even when you weren't in the best head space so just happy to hear you're doing okay. I wish I could relish in the game of the decade type of thing but honestly I haven't played all that many new games by the year they came out. I too have done considerably less gaming than I did a couple years back what with work and just not being in the right head space. I can't even say that I played Heart Gold / Soul Silver which upsets me so much because I'm a fellow Johto baby and I loved Gold / Silver / Crystal. Though seeing it here really does annoy me with how the later Pokemon games didn't bothering keeping the Pokemon following you feature. Eugh... Anyway nice video. :)
Crazy I've been watching for a decade...I was in elementary school at the beginning, and now I'm in college! What a trip. Great game choices, and great video! I'm excited for whatever you do next -- I've really enjoyed your recent Pokemon reviews.
both HGSS and SuMo were released in the 2010s these are some of my favorite games of all time tbh and I keep playing them again and again Splatoon, both 1 and 2, are also huge favs! between the action packed gameplay, the deep hidden lore and the constantly evolving world with new music, weapons, clothing and various updates and dlc, Inkopolis feels almost real in a way
Welcome back! My games of the decade were Hatoful Boyfriend, Fallout New Vegas, Akiba's Trip, Undertale, and Hypnospace Outlaw. I have eccentric tastes I guess.
It’s refreshing knowing I’m not the only one that’s changed how I play video games. They’re so demanding of the very little free time I have, I really only play causal stuff like Crash Team Racing and Smash Bros.
Great video. Really enjoyed your explanation and reasoning behind your choices. Life happens and then you have to adapt. Don't stress over youtube (or gameing) just continue to stay healthy and happy. 😊
Sonic Mania. I loved Sonic so much as a kid that I would get bullied for it. In recent years I've become a bit disillusioned with Sonic but Mania is a glowing beacon that this series has potential. I still play it to this day, so much effort and care has been put into everything. The biggest thing I love about Mania is that it broadly displays everything I love about Sonic games; momentum based physics, intricate levels, intriguing locales, fun characters, amazing music and so much more. It makes me so happy that newcomers to the series are having fun with it too.
Man I remember as a high schooler I would look up Jason Paige, cause for my senior week we all had a Pokémon theme dress up, and I wanted to find the guy who sang the theme song. Then I found your video with the interview him in it and I just binged your glitches video and still watch today. Glad you’re still around, and hope more success to ya. Great video as always!
I remember sneakingly playing my Pokémon games past my "Lights-Out" time (bedtime). I'd wake up tired of course. I still play Pokémon as my #1 gaming hobby, but emphasis on just a hobby. Like you and many others here, time has passed and other events take precedence.
Amazing Video, and also really touching! I will just put a top 10 of games I played the last decade, from top to bottom 1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 2. Bioshock Infinite + Burial at Sea DLC 3. Halo: Reach 4. Pokémon Soulsilver 5. Assassin's Creed: Revelations 6. Grand Theft Auto V 7. MGS:V The Phantom Pain 8. Pokémon Sword (Put 200 hours in it) 9. Battleblock Theater (On XBox Arcade) 10. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 / Borderlands 2 I'm more of a shooter/RPG type of guy :3
Without reservation, my favorite game of the 2010s was Hollow Knight. It has the kind of exploration, environmental storytelling, and progression that I crave. Godhome was probably too unforgiving and I don't blame people for getting turned off from it but I still love the game regardless.
I don't really have a full top 10 for this decade because I focused on retro gaming for a majority of it, but the three games that really meant something to me were MH4U, Splatoon and Sm4sh. They all made me feel part of close communities discussing tactics, builds and just love for the games. Because I never had a reliable source of internet and a console that still had people playing it until those games came out, so O was always playing single player games.
5:54-7:04 I believe your trying to tell me something. I might be too stupid to understand XD Love the video! I'm happy you even shared with us your personal struggles and learning to overcome them. I'm happy your happy. Can't wait to see what's next :)
I love when you post... your relationship with games is so unlike anything else i see on youtube... so much more intimate and makes me see my own gaming differently... :))))
a great list and I love the honesty in it I never want any of my favorite content creators to drive themselves crazy just so I can watch more things especially you if a happier healthier Tamashi is one that creates less content them I am perfectly ok with it cause it should always be quality over quantity and you can't have quality if you not having fun with it
Say, have you ever played World of Warcraft? It’s kind of a commitment and not nearly as lively as it used to be (or so I’ve heard, it was already kind of dead when I started playing) but I personally really enjoy it as an RPG and since you like those you might too. (To be fair, it’s one of the very few and far between not Pokémon RPGs I’ve played, but what can you do.) Azeroth is a joy to explore in my opinion and even though I don’t really know anyone besides my dad to play it with, making up little stories about my character, hunting for rare pets, and running through my favourite dungeons more than keeps me entertained as a solo player.
I just discovered your channel today, and am really loving it so far! My games of the decade would probably go something like this: 2010: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors 2011: Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective 2012: Virtue's Last Reward 2013: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 2014: Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright 2015: Undertale (though I wasn't able to play it until it came to the Switch in 2018) 2016: Zero Time Dilemma 2017: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2018: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 2019: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
I absolutely love SoulSilver! One of my favorite Pokémon games! Mainly because it was the first Pokémon game I started out with, but I also love how there are so many things you can do in the game. I'll never get bored with it! I love the LittleBigPlanet series and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I have played Skyrim over a lot and I'd continue to do it. To me, it feels like I'm playing a D&D character but in a different world where there are dragons. I still haven't played tabletop D&D, but I want to. LittleBigPlanet 2 is so great, but 1 will always be in my heart. Pokémon Black 2 is so fun. I'm actually replaying it with a grass-type, which is my favorite type. I just got Animal Crossing: New Leaf this month and I absolutely love it! I love that you can be the mayor and make your town as beautiful as you want. Plus I love how nice the villagers are. Undertale is so great! It feels so good to play a game that feels like a fresh start! The boss battles are fun and I always have a blast while battling them! I remmeber first watching your vidoes when I was a teenager and I'm so glad I still enjoy them as an adult. Keep up the great work!
I’m so happy that you and others feel the same about Undertale. I wasn’t dealing with a ton with trauma, but definitely getting out of my comfort zone. I feel like its immense popularity caused a lot of people to overlook the commentary. Games can really inspire you. And now I sound like the Skylab tattoo copypasta so end rant
Honestly: For those few weeks when pokemon go was new, the world kinda turned into a better place.
Agreed
Pokemon go is still good tho
Agree! People reconnected with each other, strangers were getting along, kids were going outside.
Yea. It was honestly amazing.
the summer after i graduated HS and through my freshman year of college. good times
Thanks for being such a strong role model for me when I really needed one :)
- Daisy
That's awesome!
That's so sweet
And don't worry you are only 16
THE GOOD YEARS ARE COMING ON AROUND THE BEND
Only TamashiiHiroka can make a games of the decade almost one month in... wait two videos in the year so far!!! Excuse me, I need to have a heart attack.
Richard Smiley Ive seen like 50 youtubers do this kind of list tho
@@jcselement the joke is that she has made it one month into 2020 I.E new decade
Y'know, I'm ok with the fact that Tamashii doesn't upload often. Because when she does upload, it makes me appreciate the video that much more ❤
Sometimes the best games aren't the most pretty or well-designed, they're the ones you needed at that point in your life.
Thank you for being the person you are, and may this next decade be everything you want it to be ♡
2:23
FireRed & LeafGreen: Are we jokes to you?!
yes
Until now I didn't know those games weren't all that beloved, I thought they were alright
@@Tama-Hero I'm sure looking foward to see you explore your opinions on that, whenever you decide to do a review of the Gen 1 remakes. However long it may take... (I'm crossing my fingers so that it doesn't take forever, but still, take your time with it)
Also, hopefully the fanbase doesn't go bonkers whenever you decide to cover that.
A decade has passed.
I can’t lie, I feel like the last 4 years were really when life really began.
It was the memes
2016 was when memes really hit their stride
It makes me super happy to hear about how far you've come, Tamashii! I hope you continue to grow and heal over this decade as well!
That was quite the intense, emotional Journey you took us through with such a simple top 10, but honestly I completely feel you, I went from an idiot to a suicidal mess to some approximation of an adult to (most surprisingly) a girl and God, I didn't realize how much of a roller coaster 10 years could be
You sound so optimistic and happy about your state of mind and future. Im so glad
Geez I LOVE that you love Gen V, and that spicy shade commentary is everything I've ever thought of people who hate Gen V! :p
Wow, I didn't expect a games of the decade video to give me such feels. I'm really happy that you've been able to recover. I hope your next decade is wonderful.
Thank you for the favorite. I'm happy you saw it.
Can’t wait to see what ever it is you end up creating in the future! Your channel is always such a deeply pleasant and nostalgic surprise.
You sound more confident, more sassy and less nasally 🙂
Overall, fantastic job, I look forward to the next video!
Gaming was in this weird "brown & gritty" phase & I'm not about that, lmao
Some of my favourite games were released this decade -- HeartGold & SoulSilver, Bayonetta, the Earthbound VC release that I played the hell out of, Sonic Mania, Ace Attorney Dual Destinies, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, the Ace Attorney/Layton crossover, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Dragonball FighterZ, I could really keep going.
I'm so happy Tamashi is in a better place now. I look forward to any videos when she's comfortable with it!
And having fewer uploads these days just means we appreciate each one that much more (but seriously that game room reorganizing one was super great)
this was quite honestly the best top 10 video ive ever seen
Your Pokemon Go video is one of my favorites of yours, and so wonderfully encompassed the emotions i felt during that early time. I'm glad it made it to this video!
Anyone noticed the Earfquake K.K. Slider cover song when Tama talked about Animal Crossing?
Oh my god! I love your description of WW vs NL. I LOVE WW. I put in so many hours. I put in a lot of hours into NL as well, but not nearly as much. Your description of the games finally put into words what I loved so much about them and how they are different. I didn't even fully realize the distinction until you said it. Thank you
My list would go like this, with a lot of Pokemon and Nintendo games:
2010: Pokemon Heart Gold, this is personal favorite Pokemon game.
Seeing your channel grow and change over the decade, it’s kinda amazing. Hope it’s another great decade!
I started watching you in 2013 when I was 8...damn. And I still keep up with your vids?
KEEP IT UP
man, that rick and morty copypasta reference is amazing
It's nice to see somebody else remember that gen 5 came out this decade, they were such good games.
I’m happy you’re focusing on bettering yourself while enjoying games on the side whenever you can.
Samuel Turner the grind is strong when you wanna battle Red, I quit grinding for that battle because it ain’t fun with the slow Gen 4 engine.
I'm always happy to see a new video from you.
Had no idea the middle of the 2010s were so hard on you. Here's hoping this one is a better one. May you continue to pursue projects and opportunities you're passionate about, RUclips and beyond.
Really good video. Heart-warming in a lot of way. Your narration has also improved quite a lot.
If interested, my games of the decade are:
2010: Xenoblade Chronicles (Even though it didn't come to America until 2012)
2011: Skyrim
2012: Scribblenauts Unlimited
2013: Wind Waker HD (Port but still what I liked the most)
2014: Bayonetta 2
2015: BloodBorne
2016: DOOM
2017: Mario Odyssey/Xenoblade 2
2018: Spider-Man/Smash Ultimate
2019: Devil May Cry 5.
(My comments are messy and rambly, but the point is, thanks for being here on RUclips. You and your videos make a lot of people happy, myself included, and they have for years. I'm hoping to see you continue to grow, both online and in your own life, throughout these next years. You're doing great :) Keep it up.)
ill be honest i dont remember when i subbed to you, but im glad i did and the personal feeling of this video really resonated with me, i do the whole personal decade thing to, 2009 is my year since its when i made my channel and left highschool for college. feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago at the same time. anyway thank you for this. it was a great video
this video is so wholesome... WE LOVE YOU TAMASHII
So many games on this list that I love! A really fun and pleasant look back, lovely video
I watched your videos years ago when I was still in highschool, so cool to find the channel again :D
Glad to know that you’re still doing well. I used to watch your content all the time growing up, and while I did miss your uploads, I’m glad too see that you’re doing well.
A decade has by and so many great games came out.
For me my game of the decade are Pokémon Black and White 2 and Sun and Moon.
Awesome reflection of the past decade, and congrats on graduation! On my 2nd year of Uni myself, its hard work and time consuming!
I am so freaking proud of you. Keep on growing and making yourself happy!
2014 was “not a strong year for games for me”
Me: But there was Smash!
Smash 4 is kinda boring tho
You've been one of my favorite RUclipsrs consistently since like 2011 - 2012.
Awee this was very nice Tamashii. Definitely my favorite games of the decade video I’ve seen. This was a very quality video
I swear Im hearing the dog from Animal Crossing sing EARFQUAKE during the New Leaf version
Hey glad to hear you are doing better now. Here is hoping we get more videos.
Thank you so much for all videos you made. You are one of my absolutely best youtubers ever. :)
The Black/white 2 meme summary was a very high IQ joke. 👌I doubt most people understood it
I'll admit that I found the 2010's to be a very mixed decade in terms of my own life story and video games.
Here's a list of my favourite video games in each year if you're curious:
2010 Super Mario Galaxy 2 (My 5th Grade Obsession)
2011: LittleBigPlanet 2 (My Constant School Day Dream) and Mario Kart 7 (Took it on all my family road trips)
2012: New Super Mario Bros. 2 (Got a million coins within 2 years) and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (Even today, this game NEEDS a sequel)
2013: Animal Crossing New Leaf (My unhealthy year-long obsession), Super Mario 3D World (Beat three levels per homework break), and The Last of Us (My 9th-10th Grade Obsession that I completed over 15 times)
2014: Mario Kart 8 (Played it ALL THE TIME), Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (The year-long hype and obsession of teenage me needs NO EXPLANATION), and LittleBigPlanet 3 (Fun game, but it could be improved)
2015: Super Mario Maker (Gave my level creativity in LBP and hacked 2D Mario games a chance to truly shine) and Yoshi's Woolly World (Game was so cute, I got all 3 of the smaller Yarn Yoshi Amiibos)
2016: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief's End (My 11th-12th Grade Obsession)
2017: Horizon Zero Dawn (Still need to beat it), Crash Bandicoot: The N. Sane Trilogy (Also still need to beat it), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Best Kart-Racer EVER), and Super Mario Odyssey (Beat 100% a total of 4 TIMES, nuff said)
2018: Marvel's Spider-Man (The return of my childhood hero the way I ALONE remember him) and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (My Current Everlasting Obsession)
2019: Luigi's Mansion 3 (Still need to beat it) and Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fuelled (Not at as fun as Mario Kart, but a pretty fun time-killer)
very guud one, i love to see your energy back
Holy crap a new video? :)
Always a pleasure to see you post a new video! An awesome way to start of 2020!
Crazy I've been watching for a decade...I was in elementary school at the beginning, and now I'm in college! What a trip. Great game choices, and great video! I'm excited for whatever you do next -- I've really enjoyed your recent Pokemon reviews.
both HGSS and SuMo were released in the 2010s
these are some of my favorite games of all time tbh and I keep playing them again and again
Splatoon, both 1 and 2, are also huge favs! between the action packed gameplay, the deep hidden lore and the constantly evolving world with new music, weapons, clothing and various updates and dlc, Inkopolis feels almost real in a way
Welcome back! My games of the decade were Hatoful Boyfriend, Fallout New Vegas, Akiba's Trip, Undertale, and Hypnospace Outlaw. I have eccentric tastes I guess.
Your channel is special. I got my first shiny pokemon ever thanks to your x and y videos, Keep it going !
After seeing so many lists forgetting lbp2 I'm so happy I saw it on this list!
I’m really excited to hear your Pokémon Black & White 2 hot takes when that review comes out! Those are my personal favorite Pokémon games.
I would die for Tamashii 🥺😭
Iv been binge watching your videos there so wholesome and awesome
Amazing Video, and also really touching!
I will just put a top 10 of games I played the last decade, from top to bottom
1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
2. Bioshock Infinite + Burial at Sea DLC
3. Halo: Reach
4. Pokémon Soulsilver
5. Assassin's Creed: Revelations
6. Grand Theft Auto V
7. MGS:V The Phantom Pain
8. Pokémon Sword (Put 200 hours in it)
9. Battleblock Theater (On XBox Arcade)
10. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 / Borderlands 2
I'm more of a shooter/RPG type of guy :3
Yay! Tamashii is back!
5:54-7:04 I believe your trying to tell me something. I might be too stupid to understand XD
Love the video! I'm happy you even shared with us your personal struggles and learning to overcome them. I'm happy your happy. Can't wait to see what's next :)
AAAAAAAAAAAAA SHE HERE WITH VIDEO! I'm Excited! Such a treat!
I love when you post... your relationship with games is so unlike anything else i see on youtube... so much more intimate and makes me see my own gaming differently... :))))
a great list and I love the honesty in it I never want any of my favorite content creators to drive themselves crazy just so I can watch more things especially you if a happier healthier Tamashi is one that creates less content them I am perfectly ok with it cause it should always be quality over quantity and you can't have quality if you not having fun with it
that kk slider earfquake made me relisten to igor for the eighth hundred time
Say, have you ever played World of Warcraft?
My games of the decade would probably go something like this:
2010: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors
2011: Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
2012: Virtue's Last Reward
2013: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
2014: Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright
2015: Undertale (though I wasn't able to play it until it came to the Switch in 2018)
2016: Zero Time Dilemma
2017: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
2018: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
2019: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Its been 3 years since I last watched a new video from your channel, other than that I'm glad to see your doing fine :)
Good choice for your 2012 pick. I'd agree too.
