  • Elon Musk has given a major update on Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot, which continues to show STUNNING progress. Elon Musk envisions Optimus contributing tens of TRILLIONS of dollars to Tesla's market cap. Tesla has invested billions in infrastructure and technology, deploying initial robots in its factories with plans for mass production. Elon Musk predicts one Optimus per human, and is planning to add thousands of robots into the factor next year, positioning Tesla as a leader in humanoid robotics. Tesla’s "Tech Tree," which integrates AI, Dojo, HW5, AI5, and other hardware advancements, distinguishes it from competitors, aiming to revolutionize industries and contribute substantially to the economy. #Tesla #Optimus #robots

I have been saying that form the first time Tesla unveiled the robot; it is much easier to deploy and scale, as it is not restricted by regulations and it does not do dangerous tasks. It can begin by walking within warehouses. It can be deployed in places, where people can not go. It can die for humans. Applications with zero risks for the company are there. Pure value added. So Tesla can easily learn while earning money. The business case is strong.
How to value it? I have no idea. Value added is there. But the turmoil will be huge. Imagine all Amazon warehouses taking Tesla bots and firing all employees. Within a year. Imagine the pressure on shops, that do not use robots, but still have to pay humans.

And even if any of these others also succeed, the addressable market will be massive.

The actual robot (the machine) is only part of the challenge. The behavioural element (probably 90% of the challenge) is compute capacity and the ability to learn from vast amounts of data - (ie: the brain).

A human when standing and especially walking is in a constant state of controlled falling. Hundreds of sets of muscles are involved which act in a largely involuntary manner.
If someone was to give Optimus a slight push or if the ground was to give way in some small way it would fall over and not be able to get up.

The rate of advancement? A decade later, still no Tesla Roadster. Tesla robots are a joke. How about providing affordable housing and healthcare? "Oh no, we can't do that."

It sounds like you're talking more about the government than Tesla.

@@TMIOTesla The government is owned by corporations. The government and corporations are two wings of the same vulture. Technology is being used to steal and enslave people, not liberate them.

You are super selective on your list of 'failures'. Model Y, best selling car in the World, you forgot that one. A company is not judged on it's failures but on it's success. What about Optimus specifically is a joke? Your other points are nothing to do with Tesla at all and rightly so.

DummyDavid , write your government about housing and healthcare. By the way Elon has made a small home that is boxed up and sent to an area of your choice. Also he has Neuralink which will help people with severed spinal cords or brain damage walk again or communicate with other people…..This is WHY most people with a Brain LOVE ELON ..!!!
