It seems to me that humans who adhere to a certain belief system,albeit god or atheism,come across as being subdued. To most humans they seem calm and serene and in some meditative state but it really just looks like a human who is subdued by a greater force. I myself will never adhere to either end of this stifling paradigm.
When will we ever grow up? Who cares who believes in what...we're all human beings. Religious wars have been tearing humanity apart for centuries, because people need to push their beliefs upon everyone else, and if someone doesn't agree they suddenly have a hatred for them. If you can't respect someone else's opinion, don't expect them to respect yours. I'm not going to say what I believe in because I want to keep this completely unbiased.
I do the same thing. It's because of the humility he has within him when he speaks. Looking directly into her eyes for a long period can mean a challenge or a negative emotion. So he looks at her telling her he's paying attention but looks away to show humility and respect. I do the same thing when talking to others about God or anything of that nature. God's presence within us gives us great humility. ☺
The spirit of God guides our words but also how we physically express ourselves. We tend to look meek and why most the time. But look how he speaks and how he says it. You can tell he's in a good place with God.
get what your saying. but "not saying what you believe" is not really in line with the rest of what you're saying. you should be able to say what you believe right?
