Yeah, the studio version is nice, but this right here is human experience on full display. That feels like someone having a psychological breakthrough and a reconciliation with their faith and love of music. This is his unrestrained self on display for all to see and then you can sense the people in the crowd connecting with his authenticity just like we are listening to it like 14 years later. This track is a musical treasure and I'm so glad they recorded it!
It's a man worshiping God with his music. "Sing to my God songs of love and healing" "Thunder! You feel it in your chest! You put my mind at ease and my fears to rest" This man is worshiping. He's having a religious experience as he comes close to the presence of God. Proselytizing, pouring out his faith to the room, hopefully illuminating the hearts of those in the room. "Give myself to you from the essence of my being" "Make room for His love and the fire gone blaze!"
I was so blown away the first time I heard this song, and I was blown away even more when I found out that not only was he white, but a Hasidim! Live at Stubbs is on my top 8 all time favorite albums that I can listen to beginning to end on repeat. This show and Depeche Mode at the Rose Bowl in ‘89 are the two I’d go back to see if time travel were possible.

@@letsdeduce it’s okay man I’ll pray for you. You’re literally listing to music that praises GOD. Just like the song says ask Hashem for mercy and he’ll throw you a rope. It’s crazy how you say it’s it’s deluded and no basis in reality… but I bet you believe in history books from your local library or school. The Bible is the biggest history book it’s actually multiple books in one. Just like how you read many history books and scriptures is how the Bible should be approached. Trust me I was there in your shoes until I bent the knee. He’s preaching, so your listing to him preach about GOD in song form.
@@letsdeduce I function just fine and contribute as much as I can to society. I am a veteran with much trauma so I can even say I’ve contributed more than the average member of society. But I’m humbled by your thoughts and I’ll respect them. Keep listing to the word of god and someday you’ll take these lyrics into your heart and soul as it’s meant to be. One thing I will say is don’t jump to conclusions about someone before even hearing why one believes in the one true god. Everyone’s got a storybook take sometime to hear it and you just maybe humbled as well. You want god but can’t deflate your ego
This could never be duplicated or imitated in the slightest bit. There will only ever be one Matisyahu 🙌🏻 was in middle school when this song came out and I didn’t understand the lyrics then and don’t believe in god today but this is an incredible song. Respect and love

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of this song man so good
The same :-)
Same. The lyrics are amazing.
This song is healing
It’s amazing how much better this live version is than the recorded studio version. I love it so much
It's how I was introduced to him
@@Juan800PimpBot un cu
I never listen to the studio version because of this
@@FineChynnaWine dude same! 🙌
It's not even close. You can feel this version.
I just to say "Thank u Jesus" for me coming across this song!!! 🙏 I absolutely luv it. I listen to it multiple times a day!!!!
Studio version sucks compared to this GEM
Well f’ing said!
In 2005 I had a spiritual awaken while listening to this album. I just stumbled upon this on You Tube. I hadn’t heard since 2005 So much love devotion
It's a man worshiping God with his music. "Sing to my God songs of love and healing"
"Thunder! You feel it in your chest! You put my mind at ease and my fears to rest"
This man is worshiping. He's having a religious experience as he comes close to the presence of God. Proselytizing, pouring out his faith to the room, hopefully illuminating the hearts of those in the room.
"Give myself to you from the essence of my being"
"Make room for His love and the fire gone blaze!"
The Shake off the Dust album studio version is brilliant and just as powerful.
The youth album one sucked
I was there. This performance this song .. Changed my life
I was so blown away the first time I heard this song, and I was blown away even more when I found out that not only was he white, but a Hasidim! Live at Stubbs is on my top 8 all time favorite albums that I can listen to beginning to end on repeat.
This show and Depeche Mode at the Rose Bowl in ‘89 are the two I’d go back to see if time travel were possible.
Jealous. Would have changed my life too if I was there. Know every lyric.
It must have been a sad live before that.
Cheers. Was there next to ya. It was amazing
What a blend of rock, reggae and rap!! Still fresh after all these years.
Kevin from a Jew too
hell yea bro
it's simply reggae not a blend of anything.
Almost 15 years later and it's still the greatest live performance ever.
lol settle down
This IS the best version of this song ever!!!
This is one of the most flawless live performances I have ever seen
You’re right! The song I believe was performed even better live than the studio version. The energy is crazy!!
You know it's good when the radio stations play the live version instead of the track off the album.
The energy he brings is truly amazing
I am a Christian, who just discovered you; I feel, already a kinship, and pray God's blessings upon you, and yours.
im christian, ive beena big supporter anf love his message aince ive been in highschool like 20 years ago. seen him live i love his music always and for3ver please peace in the mid east and love and prosperity for all😢
If i have children i will show them this exact song because that's what my dad did and i CAN AND WILL TURN THIS INTO A FAMILY TRADITION
I feel like Matisyahu could play the Apollo and get standing ovations, dude has a universal sound and a is a great entertainer
This performance is beyond anything I’ve ever seen. It is simply the realest music you could ever experience without actually being there in person. Wow man. Thank you for that experience. You are greatly appreciated
One of the best performances I ever saw in my life.
This song helped me find GOD. It humbled me the lyrics are so powerful. God bless you all
Sorry for your loss of rational thinking.
@@danielwilkins6302 and yet here you are commenting on the song that you just listened to.
What a hateful thing to say... just enjoy the music will ya!@danielwilkins6302
a message to the future generations: please do not let this type of music die, many miracles can happen with the power of this immaculate music choice
I played live at Stubbs through out my whole high school years this man changed my life
Let's jam out together
No sé cuántos años han pasado, pero siempre vuelvo a esta canción.
This could never be duplicated or imitated in the slightest bit. There will only ever be one Matisyahu 🙌🏻 was in middle school when this song came out and I didn’t understand the lyrics then and don’t believe in god today but this is an incredible song. Respect and love
I don't believe in god neither, but it's incredible how this song makes me feel, I think I can experience what he experiences with his beliefs. He's so good.
Just curios, do you give thanks for your life?
Every song I hear from him touches light strings in my soul. Opens my heart and world around me. I experience a divine light and joy that is seldom. ❤️❤️❤️
❤
This song is so anointed. I remember when he was unknown! Saw him in 2010.
Sometimes I can't believe this song is real and I have to come back and listen again just to make sure it's real. Special time in music and a special artist with a blessed message. 🙌
I’m listening this song since early 00’s and always relives my heart…
This is the best version of the song out there.
J. R. H. Agreed. This is the first version I heard and the only version as far as I’m concerned
His new ones are horrible

Oh my gosh, the guitar during the chorus is literally magical.
We used to listen to this in college all the time back in 2006 when it was released, and listening to it now, I don’t know why…
Cuz you feel it in your thunder ❤

Too late...
Everyone changes. Especially if you are enlightened. Have you seen him perform recently?
I am not Jewish but the lyrics are awesome and the passion with which he sings is contagious. And the job done by that eletronic guitarist is tremendous. That solo is majestic. Great song overall. Greetings from Puerto Rico.
Creo que no es necesario ser religioso para disfrutar una buena canción. Yo soy atea y amo lo que hace Matishayu 😁
Sin más ni menos es una canción de amor. Y eso es todo lo que importa. B"H!
Is English Puerto Rico's first language? If not, your vocabulary is extraordinary compared to most English speaking people
Raul Alzaga to this day that guitarist is one the most hypnotic to play - amazing live show
@@nicholasbuckmaster2173 , it is not but it is taught from 1st-12th grade. Most millenials and younger generations are fluid in English. Spanish is the first language. And yes, as a Puertorican living in Alabama I struggle with the way people write and speak English over here.
Lost my uncle but really more of a bestfriend/dad. The one song I always heard him jamming too especially this version. I smile and cant help but think of him whenever this song plays on my playlist.
I listen to this at least once a week for the last 10 years. That guitar solo was absolutely amazing.
Awesome 🤟🏼
Every time my life gets beyond stressed this pops into my feed. Thank You

Same same same.
Love is all we need... tolerance and faith comes with it... life blessings for all of you...
I'm not Jewish or religious at all, but every time I hear this song gives me goosebumps because I do believe there is a God and this song describes the feeling I get form him.
Me too, totally same feeling. Can't help but smile so big and sing along
so very love song
"whats this feeling" my love will rip a hole in the ceiling
15 years later and this still slaps harder than your favorite artist.
Bless you brothers and sisters, been listening since a young child. these lyrics are still relevant today, “You’re all that I have You’re all I need” Messiah

I remember listening to this song on the radio and loving it. I couldn't understand the lyrics at the time and I assumed it was a Jamaican reggae singer, so I spent a lot of time and money buying pirate CDs of Jamaican reggae artists trying to find this song.
Years later, in Collage, someone was playing this song, and I had to ask the artist's name. What a surprise! And not much later I went to his concert in Puerto Rico.
Sounds like a win win to me!
I think I spent my first salary buying a ticket for his concert when he was here in Lima for the first time
🤭♥️
I make the hits, not the public.
HE HAD A CONCERT IN PUERTO RICO?!?!
