We have a huge Hasidic population here at the Jersey shore in Lakewood, New Jersey i don't always see eye to eye with them but try to respect them. I've always loved this song and just learned today that Matisyahu is Matthew in Hebrew. I've been loving this song for years and my name is Matthew I never knew that. Crazy. This song is a banger 🔥
Masterpiece. This is how the process of reaching rock bottom and then comes to an awakening. The process isn't not easy it requires the removal of ego, a good guide, and more work in one self.and when you get there through getting to know th source, then there is still challenges but you have discovered the Truth of life, and learned have to navigate it and overcome, and spread the knowledge to others. We are one. Let's please start acting as one would you? No more division, no more hatred, no more hurting others and no more hurting yourself by sabotaging your beautiful promising life. 🌿 Love you all.
Jewish reggae is my thing. Always loved his flow and vibe. He hypes me up still in 2021. Gonna definitely represent in 2022 and beyond. Good music is good music.
Matisyahu... I know life had once stripped you of the appearance of who you are, and it seems you've once been stricken with a self-doubt... But, I want to thank you for making this music!! Youth has genuinely been an inspirational piece throughout my life, starting in my early adolescence! I hope my kids will find it for themselves, too, someday. It reminded me of what my heart already knew, but forgot in those suicidal moments of my youth... And yours is still one of the **only** Reggae-style music that I actually _LIKE_ listening to!!!
My older brother used to slap this when i was young. He was very intelligent and loved this guy because he knew what he was saying in this song. Been 5 years since i seen my brother. I have been searching for this song the longest and im glad i found it. And now i know why he loved this song so much.
Damn...I remember listening to this back in 2009 broken and sad!! Alone. 7 years later Joined the Military and found a wife. And years later here i am God is powerful, take everything this world has teached you!! about money about anything pop culture anything that preaches sin!!! Bow down to God and he will see you are always takened cared of By his Powerful angels. Im going to give you a hint keep fighting for justice and follow the path of righteousness dont let these savages gangs the television pop tell you how to think or do or live....EVER!!!!! you will be stripped of you crown when you do! Psalm 34:15-19 King James Version (KJV) 15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. 16 The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. 17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. 18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

This song inspires me so much. It has been in my playlist for years. As a dedicated Christian, the connection I feel each time I hear it assures me of the love that the One True God has for all humanity
All these people talking about who Matisyahu is instead of the power music he sings, I don't care for his race because he can't chose it, I don't bother with what he believes in cause he can believe in whatever he wants cause he has that as a human right.. I am here for the beautiful message he brings and you all should too
I listened to this song before I knew he was singing about God. It's neat how that happened because now I am saved qnd living for God. (To the best of my ability) but coming back to this song and hearing it with new ears has blown my mind. Praise Yeshua.
This song gave me a great deal of hope while struggling in the battle with drug addiction. "Trying to stay high , your bound to be low" lol that shot hit home with me .
Frankly, My Dear, I don’t give a damn. Just be sure he gets the basics like Led Zeppelin, RUSH, Pink Floyd, and Scorpions. For a well rounded impresario of the 21st Century he will become.
Just now heard this again after loving him years and years ago. Connection to his music and message is even stronger and shining brighter than ever ✨💙✨
Phillipians 2:10-11. That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tounge should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to glory of the father.
The first time I ever heard the name Matisyahu was earlier this year when he canceled a performance at the House of Blues in Chicago because of violent anti Israeli protests. I went online to find information about him. Who is this guy? I've been listening to his music ever since because it's really good. I'm not a rap or reggae fan so the subtitles behind him in the video are helpful 😊. I'll continue to explore his music 😃.
THANK YOU MATISYAHU. PERFECT MINISTRY FROM A LEVITE. ANYONE WHO MINISTERS TO THE LORD IS CONSIDERED A LEVITE. LISTEN IF IT MINISTERS TO YOUR SPIRIT PEOPLE.

@@Levo42691 did you learn that from a man and his concepts of good? I appreciate both your points though it is the absolutist perspective that seems more likely to be flawed for you are human and imperfect. For example who's God is the source of all right and morality. You would say yours.... tho there are those who also believe in God or a God who would have a different morality, and then also another. There are terrorists who think they are right based on their beliefs but wouldnt u think they are wrong.... I think it is important to understand subjectivity and objectivity etc... it is easy for humans to become bias perhaps through cognitive biases such as confirmation bias etc
@@nunyabiz2117 God put His laws on my hearts and His morals on my conscience. There is only One True Creator. We could debate on that however, that leads to both of us being upset cause neither of us could prove to each other what God is the real God my God operates on Faith and Belief neither of which can be proven. However if we look at there actions and the fruit they produce in life we should beable to see what God has done for them. I personally don't think good is subject I think good has been made into a subjective word so man can think they are doing good even if it is outside of God morals.
I never heard of Matisyahu until what happened at Rototom Sunsplash. This was antisemitism as far as I am concerned because he is Jewish. Now Matisyahu has become my favorite artist.
+Obiwan Youknowme he was uninvited because he was jewish and folks started to pressure him to make a public statement support towards Palestina and not Israel or any kind of jewish state (which is ironic since that was peace festival) Yet, some dude called Capleton got in and sang about mudering gays and lesbian and wasn't disinvited, due to most folks claiming the ironic and hypocritical statemente Rototom organizers made, he was un-banned, yet; he didn't go there as far as I know.

Lyrics:
You're all that I have and you're all that I need
Each and every day I pray to get to know you please
I want to be close to you, yes I'm so hungry
You're like water for my soul when it gets thirsty
Without you there's no me
You're the air that I breathe
Sometimes the world is dark and I just can't see
With these, demons surround all around to bring me down to negativity
But I believe, yes I believe, I said I believe
I'll stand on my own two feet
Won't be brought down on one knee
Fight with all of my might and get these demons to flee
Hashem's rays fire blaze burn bright and I believe
Out of darkness comes light, twilight unto the heights
Crown Heights burnin' up all through till midnight
Said, thank you to my God, now I finally got it right
And I'll fight with all of my heart, and all a' my soul, and all a' my might
What's this feeling?
My love will rip a hole in the ceiling
Givin' myself to you from the essence of my being
Sing to my god all these songs of love and healing
Want Moshiach now so it's time we start revealing
What's this feeling?
My love will rip a hole in the ceiling
Givin' myself to you from the essence of my being
Sing to my God all these songs of love and healing
Want Moshiach now
Strip away the layers and reveal your soul
Got to give yourself up and then you become whole
You're a slave to yourself and you don't even know
You want to live the fast life but your brain moves slow
If you're trying to stay high then you're bound to stay low
You want God but you can't deflate your ego
If you're already there then there's nowhere to go
If you're cup's already full then its bound to overflow
If you're drowning in the water's and you can't stay afloat
Ask Hashem for mercy and he'll throw you a rope
You're looking for help from God you say he couldn't be found
Looking up to the sky and searchin' beneath the ground
Like a King without his Crown
Yes, you keep fallin' down
You really want to live but can't get rid of your frown
Tried to reach unto the heights and wound bound down on the ground
Given up your pride and the you heard a sound
Out of night comes day and out of day comes light
Nullified to the One like sunlight in a ray,
Makin' room for his love and a fire gone blaze
Makin' room for his love and a fire gone blaze
What's this feeling?
My love will rip a hole in the ceiling
Givin' myself to you from the essence of my being
Sing to my God all these songs of love and healing

And see, I lift up my eyes where my help come from
And I seen it circling around from the mountain

You feel it in your chest
You keep my mind at ease and my soul at rest
You're not vexed
When I look to the sky where my help come from
And I've seen it circling around from the mountain

I'm in no way a religious person, but these guys are amazing musicians no matter what background you are from. relax and enjoy good music :)

Psalm 34:15-19 King James Version (KJV)
15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

Don't know why this song popped into my head. Took all these years to realize how wholesome this song was.
Just introduced my teenager to Matisyahu, happy to carry this blessed music into the next generation.
Frankly, My Dear, I don’t give a damn.

This song is just as important and strong as it was back then and it brings tears to my eyes listening to it

at the time this he did this song he was quite the fundamentalist. he's no longer that radical.
+puhdussyrampage2010 Are you comparing Orthodox Judaism with radical Islam? Wow.
"Radical" doesn't purely refer to Islam, though it's probably not the right descriptor.
Pray all you want. Pulse never happened as they say it did . No doctor would be allowed to wear bloody shoes spreading bio hazard in a hospital for 6 weeks. No victims would ever be carried TOWARDS an active shooting scene like the crisis actors were.
+OMEGAPLEX I was just hospitalized at ORMC. Coming from I-4, we took Kaley, of course. Heart breaks just looking at Pulse. I had one nurse who was working that morning. So many affected, in so many ways. But, we all love our town, and our people.

I am athiest and I love this song. It just sounds good and regardless of my religious views this still has a positive message. Good is good regardless if coming from God or not.
Good only comes from God when good comes from man we end up being ok with other peoples idea of good. Only one Good and that is God
@@nunyabiz2117 no one can be the Judge of Good except God because we don't see all the consequences to our own action.

I never heard of Matisyahu until what happened at Rototom Sunsplash. This was antisemitism as far as I am concerned because he is Jewish. Now Matisyahu has become my favorite artist.
how was it antisemtism?
+Obiwan Youknowme he was uninvited because he was jewish and folks started to pressure him to make a public statement support towards Palestina and not Israel or any kind of jewish state (which is ironic since that was peace festival)
Yet, some dude called Capleton got in and sang about mudering gays and lesbian and wasn't disinvited, due to most folks claiming the ironic and hypocritical statemente Rototom organizers made, he was un-banned, yet; he didn't go there as far as I know.

King Without A Crown
[Verse 1]
You're all that I have and you're all that I need
Each and every day I pray to get to know you, please
I want to be close to you, yes I'm so hungry
You're like water for my soul when it gets thirsty
Without you there's no me
You're the air that I breathe
Sometimes the world is dark and I just can't see
With these, demons surround all around to bring me down to negativity
But I believe, yes I believe, I said I believe
I'll stand on my own two feet
Won't be brought down on one knee
Fight with all of my might and get these demons to flee
HaShem's rays fire blaze burn bright and I believe
HaShem's rays fire blaze burn bright and I believe
Out of darkness comes light, twilight unto the heights
Crown Heights burnin' up all through till twilight
Said thank you to my God, now I finally got it right
And I'll fight with all of my heart, and all a' my soul, and all a' my might
