    Such a nice interviewer he's a really nice rabbi I can tell. This is how we should all treat each other . He didn't judge matisyahu at all . He wished him the best at the end and I agree matisyahu is a gift from gd . He is an extraordinary person I love him so much now and forever :)
    This video is exactly what I needed . Godsend . Thanks for posting . Very beautiful person he is that we can all learn from 💖

    Matis...you looked so sad and tired for most of the interview, until you started talking about the Mystic Man.
    Thank you for pushing through, Thank you for singing and baring your soul.
    Jerusalem and Lord Raise me Up still make me cry.
    Your song Miracle..there are no words to describe how much strength I got from the words in that song, I've had many surgeries and health issues that I required myself to have courage for. I'm a miracle and so i relate with the song.
    music is my best friend..
    when no one understands, and you just want to be alone instead of lonely..music is there.
    and now for the less sappy part, oh my gosh you're so handsome.

    Even when you watch his older interviews he never seems to feel comfortable on camera. He is going through an obvious change but I do not think that is a bad thing. We all must go through stages on very level of our lives.

    16.47 that "Ruben" guy was an angel in human form, dare I say it was God Himself in human form that's why you were intrigued by him. God knew you were searching for Him so He sent someone to talk you for show you the way to the schule that would be best for you, and it was. That was totally an angelic encounter with that "mystic" or "mystery" guy as you called him. Praise God! (big smile)

    i honestly like this matisyahu better than the one with the beard. i know some say the opposite, and honestly im a new fan. i didn't really know the old one. with that said, i think this is more "him" and at the end of the day its the same matisyahu . hes just trying out different things with his life, which all of us do. love matisyahu so much! keep making amazing music....ur fans love you

    The person who commented that he seems "off" we hear that he just got done with a performance . Speaking on stage drains you, it is almost a way to trance. That's why he is like that.

  • @butladaballa
    @butladaballa 10 лет назад +6

    The interviewer just wants Matisyahu to confirm his assumptions and interpretations. The interviewer needs to just ask questions with no preface. Matisyahu has a calm, sweet disposition. I like him more.

    Matisyahu is GREAT, you know... ;)

  • @muppetallica
    @muppetallica 11 лет назад

    It's extreme shyness. I'm painfully shy and I force myself to periodically look people in the eye because I know it's an accepted behavior. It's embarrassing, uncomfortable, and painful even for me to have to do that--I feel a sense of panic, my heart beats rapidly... I can see that in Matisyahu--he's soft spoken, looks down, smiles shyly... Just b/c someone's a performer doesn't mean they can't be seriously shy--watch how Robert DeNiro (an actor known for his shyness) speaks/acts in interviews.

    My friend i'm thankful that i don't got a problem. I have a lovely family. I'm glad with my beautiful wife. My job is alright. Objectively I don't feel anger against people. I've got a good collection of books. Other hobbies and friends who like me just the way i am. Of Course i suffer in my own way. But I don't lay my responsibility outside of myself. I don't look up or down to people because a book says so. I don't talk to somebody who never respond.

    I wanted to ask him during the Q&A on his last acoustic show about him performing on shabbos. As much as I love his music and respect his newfound views and self expression, I can't understand why he's performing on shabbos or what he says to defend that. That kinda breaks it for me, it's passing the limit. Breaking shabbos is breaking Torah in all levels. There's no way around that. I wish he would have talked about that.

    He was asked if he thinks he is an Orthodox Jew and he was able to answer properly. Being a Jew is not something you can pick up and let go. You are born Jewish. I think he changed because his record company thinks his image is getting political.

    So what I'm getting from this interview is that the Divine Mr. M* is nothing more than a dilettante, treating the Torah the way Donald Trump and Bill Clinton treat women. I hope he doesn't treat his wife and children that way!
    As for all the gushing fan comments below, it seems most if not all modern people are just as air-headed and shallow as he is!
    *For all too young to get the reference, singer Bette Midler was once referred to as The Divine Ms. M!

    Acting that the are the only victim of the last two thousand years. Most of them are of eastern european ancestry. Believing in a jealous god who not react or listen after millions of prayers. A god who wants blood offerings in a temple. And whipped out cities. And wasn't looking when WW2 was going on.

      that makes no sense. part of him getting as much fame and attention was because of his appearance. why cant people just accept the fact that he moved on and his beliefs changed and so did his lifestyle? what is wrong with that?
      How can you get massively popular by being an orthodox jew and then somehow SELL OUT by going away from that? that literally makes no sense. his record company didnt ask him to do anything
