A Better „3 minute“ Version in my opinion is taking a big tortilla, top it like a Pizza and put ist in the ofen until the cheese is melted and a Little bubbly
When grinding meat you get the best result when your grinder and meat is cold. I usually put the grinder in an ice bath in the fridge and stick the meat in the freezer for 20mins to firm up. Also with the dough you should try and keep your salt and yeast separate as the salt can stop the yeast from working effectively.
In Dominican Republic we have something like the crust from the last pizza. It's called yaniqueque and is basically fried dough, it's delicious. You eat with sea salt and most people put ketchup on it.
If you are going to make a 3 minute pizza with a premade base (which is essentially what the fried pizza dough is) then just make a pizza on a tortilla. Very simple and quite delicious. Also, considering David is a pizza snob, he should include a version of what HE would consider a great homemade pizza. He should really do that with all the recipes, an attempt at the different things he is comparing, and a version which he thinks addresses the shortcomings of those version.
Its not the same at all, yhea is good but its not the same as fried dough, tortillas are like pan seared not deep fried, its quite different in taste and texture, they only have some ingredients in common

Spread the dough directly onto the pan which has a super ligh coating of oil, toppings, then bottom rack almost touching the bottom of the (gas) oven for 7 minutes at 475, then 7 minutes top rack just one notch lower than broil, done and perfect.
3 minutes pizza looks like our food here in Slovakia, we call it langosh, but we put on it garlic or sour cream and cheese. But the side of it must be thick, in the middle it needs to be thin. Then in the middle it is crispy, on the sides it is bready and more squishy dough after fry it. We love it here :) But not like that definitely :D
my mom makes fried pizzas all the time! they're little hand held pizzas though and she puts the sauce and cheese right after she takes it out of the oil. the cheese melts and they get so good. they are my favorite dinner! she makes them for my birthday every year!
I like to add about 3/4 of a cup Corn Flour , add just enough hot water for the dough to come together, and let it be worked by the stand mixer for about 30 minutes, let it rest for about an hour before using. U get a good dough texture with the corn flour.
The 3 minute pizza (apart of the store bought dough) resembles the Montanara pizza we cook at Napoli. And it's quite delicious. But nothing beats our fried pizza.👌 Any Italians here that love pizza fritta as well?
Not him critiquing the chef for using fresh tomatos on a pizza instead of a premade sauce like dude... you're not getting a premade marinara base at a pizzaria in Italy, jar sauce pizza is an American thing 😅
Actually David, just so you know. In Italy there is a deep fried pizza sold as street food everywhere in the cities. They're sold at food carts just like your hot dog stands (I think that's what's similar that you guys have). And it uses a different dough to what you were using (it tastes amazing) I'd say closer to a flatbread. So the only part that our eyes should be closed for is the store bought pizza dough (And if I'm being completely honest with myself, the 90 minute proofed dough as well). I'm a firm believer that pizza dough needs to proof for a MINIMUM of 24 hours. But, David, you should definitely look into the deep fried pizza street food. It's basically a good brunch food or hangover food due to it being easy, fast, and greasy.
YAY! the pizza episode!!! :) I look forward to all your videos David.I think the 3 day may come out better but who knows maby the 3 hour one could. Can't wait to find out!
The 3 min pizza is called langosz in romania and hungary and the dough is served with sour cream , shredded cheese , ham , ketchum , mustard and garlic souce , it is pretty tasty ngl
fried pizza dough? why not use naan bread or some pita? i did this when i was in college, my broke ass needed homemade pizza and this was what i always bought.
The process of 3 day pizza or longer is unique because the longer you ferment the dough the better the flavor and the longer you ferment the dough you get almost sour dough like flavor thus it has more water content in it, the yeast is "feeding" on those good sugars from the dough and the end product is closer to what you get in a standard pizza place. And please man stretch the dough more and also the pizza should be tasted warm or hot not cold... Anyway keep up the good work as always!
im here for it! i like david's content and i dont mean to throw too much shade but he rly does keep it safe a lot of the times, i wanna see this man make mofongo

I mean I understand people, since he put the recipes to a test taste wise. But man people are getting way to mad in the comments😂 I hope David doesn’t take it to hard🥺
The difference is that this is a taste test video and way the food tastes depends entirely on how hot/cold/old it is. It completely changes the video. Not to mention, he's been doing it the same way for 3+ years and people have been commenting about it incessantly, yet he refuses to listen to the comments and make positive changes. People coming to the video hoping to see a fair taste comparison have a right to be upset.
hey David ^_^ i'd been watching your videos for quite a few years now, and I can say that the videos have been getting more and more professional ^_^ in terms of filming at least love watching them! wishing you good luck!
Idk what you guys are yelling at but I like room temp pizza. But, in other dishes you need to try them while they're freshly made. I know you David make a lot of work and I appreciate it ❤
The first one was awful. Like even ignoring the fried pizza dough, you can’t just put parm on bread and then say it’s pizza. Parm by itself doesn’t work with pizza because it is too strong and acidic and doesn’t balance the sauce
The amount of people here getting their panties in a bunch because David ate the pizza cold is hilarious 🤣 If a pizza isn’t as good when it’s cold as it is when it’s hot, then the pizza just isn’t that good, maybe mediocre at best. Of course other dishes are probably better hot than cold, but pizza is just one of those exceptions where it should be at least as good cold as when it’s hot.
Hey, you could have 1 slice once it’s just done and another to compare them all at once later. It would fix everyone’s problems with you not eating them immediately. I don’t really mind because as long as your eating them all cold it is still a good comparison.
All these people complaining about not eating pizza when it is hot. Pizza is meant to be cold and peeled out of a cardboard box the morning after it was cooked to help recover from drinking night before. Get a massive hangover then compare :).

“I don’t really grind my own meat that often”
🤭🤪 I laughed way too much at this. I’m a child 😔
YAY! the pizza episode!!!
You remind me so much of young Matthew Broderick. Your voice inflections are almost exactly like his and you sound similar
Everytime I watch one of your videos I start singing "suddenly seymour" and I can't stop please help
fried pizza dough? why not use naan bread or some pita? i did this when i was in college, my broke ass needed homemade pizza and this was what i always bought.
David:
Everyone in the comments: EaT tHe PiZzA hOt YoU BaRbARiAn
Did anyone else's mind go immediately to Jordan Weissman when he said flakey salt 😂
joshua weissman?
The process of 3 day pizza or longer is unique because the longer you ferment the dough the better the flavor and the longer you ferment the dough you get almost sour dough like flavor thus it has more water content in it, the yeast is "feeding" on those good sugars from the dough and the end product is closer to what you get in a standard pizza place. And please man stretch the dough more and also the pizza should be tasted warm or hot not cold... Anyway keep up the good work as always!
Omg yes!!! I've been waiting for this video and I'm so excited to watch it lmaoo
Okay dude.. waiting for to proof as 3 day process allows your dough to ferment, therefore develop flavor. It’s why you let it proof twice...
How about if you get out of your comfort zone and try an authentic Latinx recipe 😩😩😩 can I recommend pollo con tajadas? Pupusas?
im here for it! i like david's content and i dont mean to throw too much shade but he rly does keep it safe a lot of the times, i wanna see this man make mofongo
He did pupusas already
Sos de Honduras????
Wth is Latinx?
the 3 minute pizza just seems like they wanted to make a pizza on a naan or pita but that wasn't try hard enough for them so they decided to fry dough to get a similar bread
Don’t underestimate the power of gluten free pizza.
In my opinion as a gluten free person there are acceptable alternatives to pretty much everything EXCEPT pizza.
Waits 5 hours to try a pizza than compains on it 🤦♀️
actually in naples deep fried pizza is a street food! it’s call pizza fritta my family always makes it :)
I thought the meat grinder would be so much more expensive considering you were holding off 😂
These comments.. dayum. y’all really *THAT* mad over a food video? At the end of the day, there are bigger problems in the world than when he takes a bite of food. Y’all need to chilllllll tf out.
People coming to the video hoping to see a fair taste comparison have a right to be upset.
hey David ^_^ i'd been watching your videos for quite a few years now, and I can say that the videos have been getting more and more professional ^_^ in terms of filming at least
love watching them! wishing you good luck!
My very Italian grandma used to take the pizza dough we had left over and fry it. It was basically a dough nut and it delicious
Everybody gangsta until he deep fries pizza dough
Why wasn't the red wine used?
Idk what you guys are yelling at but I like room temp pizza. But, in other dishes you need to try them while they're freshly made. I know you David make a lot of work and I appreciate it ❤
Hahahah, don't worry m8, we fry pizza in Italy, in Naples is kinda of a classic even if nobody says it.
The first one was awful. Like even ignoring the fried pizza dough, you can’t just put parm on bread and then say it’s pizza. Parm by itself doesn’t work with pizza because it is too strong and acidic and doesn’t balance the sauce
The amount of people here getting their panties in a bunch because David ate the pizza cold is hilarious 🤣
If a pizza isn’t as good when it’s cold as it is when it’s hot, then the pizza just isn’t that good, maybe mediocre at best. Of course other dishes are probably better hot than cold, but pizza is just one of those exceptions where it should be at least as good cold as when it’s hot.
“I can’t see gluten free pizza tasting good.”
No, but I don’t have another option, I have celiac disease ;-;
I think they meant Italian 00 flour as pizza flour
You made fry bread. It’s common in Native American cultures. We top it with anything and everything. I tend to make mine sweet and use it as a dessert lol
