I watch probably a dozen women on RUclips in the makeup/beauty arena and you are a yet to be discovered gem. You should have a massive following and I believe others will find in you what I have. What sets you apart is that you are real in a way that is so warm and relatable. You don't try to pass yourself off as perfect and you show the process with the actual adjusting and correcting in a very relaxed way that makes me immediately want to go play with my makeup. That's what's helpful to me at this point. I just need to play more. I can't really explain it but you're beyond beautiful and talented. You feel both like "me" and also someone I'd like to hang out with, and that's a true gift.

That's what I should have tried. I need a little bit of a darker colour. When it's up against my red neck🤣, that sounds funny. it looks a little light. I did grow up in the country. I used to call it the "Boonies".
I'll have to try the hydrating fit me foundation. It will be better for my skin. What shade are you in, Anna?
This is one of the most beautiful looks yet! I just purchased Maybeline FIT again as it's enough coverage and is not too heavy for me at age 62. So difficult to choose the right colour without testers though. Love your videos, Julie!
😍Thank you, Nancy! It's so hard to choose a colour. I went to Maybelline Canada website and asked them in the chat for recommendations. Honestly, useless. I would say you have a warm undertone. I don't think you're neutral and you're not a cool. You may even have a touch of olive. Am I totally off? What colours do you have for foundation?

Julie, I love when you post a new video! I feel like I’m having a visit with a friend! I learn something new from most every video! I am hoping you have the best outcome possible with your yoga endeavors. I too was very athletic throughout my life; playing competitive tennis until I hurt my knee in a gardening accident of all things!! I know how you feel because it has really slowed me down from my normal activities. I love the look you created, I am more & more into cool tones! @@JulieMeikle I badly tore the meniscus in my right knee while using a spade shovel to divide an established plant into sections for replanting elsewhere. Jumped onto shovel to drive blade deep underneath roots. Foot slipped off shovel and knee bent in a direction that knees are not meant to bend! Surgery followed resulting in severe osteoarthritis and range of motion issues a couple years later. 😩

Love "spending time" with you! I hope you have a quick and easeful recovery!!! And I am SOO happy to hear that you found a yoga instructor that you connected with... "true yoga" is ALWAYS about listening to our own bodies... finding OUR edges... it's not about what the pose "looks" like... my greatest yoga teachers always said to "stay on our own mat" -- don't look at your neighbor. It took a thousand reminders... but it really helped... and eventually it sank in bit by bit... it helped to take down the comparing and self-judging... it also helped me to look less to "authority" and allowed me to give myself permission to be my own guru.
I struggle with not being a task master with makeup... I feel like I can play and truly have fun when I am not going anywhere... but it can be stressful to find my balance when I am going to go out... especially with complexion - I want the impossible... flawless skin... without looking like I'm wearing makeup... AND wear a sunscreen... feels impossible.... but it's a work in progress ; )

Tell me about your skin. What are you using now? What sunscreen are you using? What are you wanting to camouflage? I have a favourite sun screen that I've just ordered again. I ordered one for every member of my family. It's light, hydrating and sits beautifully under makeup. So good!

Hi Julie, first and foremost, ladybug, you better get some rest. I’ve got to get in to a New Plastic Surgeon and get my implants checked and the need to be lifted. I’ve had saline implants since the early 90’s! My mammogram last yr showed they were leaking a tiny bit, but the rad that read my mammogram this yr, didn’t mention it. Hope you take care of yourself. I really enjoyed this tutorial. You’re an amazingly fun, yet great teacher. You’ve taught me to take my time and to enjoy applying New Makeups and Just Play. Like you said, it is Art Therapy. You’re always so patient, I love that you show every step, regardless if it’s a miss hap or goes perfectly. Much love, your friend Karla
Thank you, Karla! I have my check up tomorrow with the surgeon. I'm excited to be able to shower properly. How strange they said there was a leak and then didn't say anything this time. My surgeon recently bought an ultra sound machine so he can investigate older implants properly. I wonder if that may be an option for you. The mammograms are so harsh. How do you feel? They've lasted a long time for you. How are you feeling in general? Do you start feeling better when the weather gets nicer?
@@JulieMeikle the tech told me if there’s no change in them, some radiologists don’t comment on them. Go figure. My plastic surgeon was amazing. I had to have a lumpectomy in left breast which they took a chunk out. I can’t wait to get mine filled bigger and lifted. I’ve been hurting so so bad with this rain / damp weather. But yes I always feel better with warmer weather. I am so ready to get started back in the gym and get my muscles built back up. I’ve lost so much muscle mass. 😢😭. I started working part time doing private nursing for an elderly lady( a friend of mines friend) and whew, she’s a challenge. Lol.

Thank you for the product try ons. I Always do my eyeshadow first in case there is any fallout. I use a makeup wipe and cleanup my under eyes before I add any foundation.
That's a great idea. I mix it up all the time. I have so many distractions on my face with redness, freckles and sun spots that I sometimes find it hard to do my eyes first. I like to start with a clear canvas so I can add colour where I'd like to.🤗 But it's smart to do eyes first.

@@LolaD88 I think that's why it works so well for you. I'm more normal to dry. Do you use it in the summer too?
@@JulieMeikle I only use it at night and throughout the year. I layer it with laneige bouncy sleep mask. I use CeraVe “pm” moisturizing lotion in the morning.

Hi Tina! I honestly use the same moisturizer on my face and eyes. It's not always the best thing to do if you're prone to milia. Those are little white bumps under the eyes.
I'll put my face cream all over and what's left on my fingers is what I pat under my eyes.
If you have irritation from allergies or dry eyes, I love Avène Soothing Eye Cream. I have suggested it to so many people and they love it. Do you have allergies? Avène is very clean of any ingredients that may cause irritation. So good. Let me see if I can find a link for you. Just a second. .....

What shade are you in this foundation?
Hi, I chose 112. I could have bought a darker colour but it still needs to be a neutral undertone. I just chatted with Maybelline Canada. I thought they may have a cheat sheet beside them to know what shades are considered neutral, warm or cool.🤦♀️ No help. She sent me a photo of cool undertones and warm undertones. Matching foundations from a drugstore are hard.

Hi Ginny, I don't mind you asking. I'm very open. I've been dealing with Lyme disease & co-infections since 2010. I've been to many doctors but I can't seem to find a solution. I'm determined to find one though.
My health is the reason I started creating videos, It the only thing, at this moment, my body can handle and I needed a purpose. I love it though. I love meeting all of you. Meeting everyone through the comments has given me a community that I haven't had for years. I have a lot to be grateful for. 🤗

Thank you, Mary! I hadn't heard of Queen Musia either. I love the first ingredient in the lipstick. I've never seen castor oil as the first ingredient in any other brand.
I'm doing what I've been told this week. I'm bad for that. I have a high pain tolerance so I forget that I should be resting sometimes. Pain isn't always a bad thing. It's a reminder to rest. I feel like this surgery will be my last. I had to have a revision surgery in 2009 as well. I could tell something was wrong the first time and I knew it wasn't right in November too. This surgery feels good. 🤗
