Girl, I am having one of the toughest & most painful days of the past 5+ years. This is exactly what I have been needing to help distract me and make me smile. Thank you so much for all the work you do on your channels. I hope you know how appreciated you are 🖤🖤
Im a cosmetic chemist, working for a beauty brand currently and have previously worked for five others, and just wanted to comment on the glossy lip liner idea. The reason why glossy lip liners aren’t really a thing is two-fold: the first being the lasting power. A gloss physically cannot last as long as a matte product. The basic chemistry doesn’t allow for that (matte can’t have much slip in order to cling to skin and gloss has to have slip to reflect light). The second is the fact that outlining lips with a glossy product means you are working with a product that (also due to basic chemistry) will travel- it won’t stay put. So you’ll end up with gloss above the lip line, which tends to look messy. Basically, glossy liners are glossy lip crayons.
I love these reviews bc it’s the difference between “yeah, it’s ok - you might love it” and “you shouldn’t have to live without this” is really discerning and worth its weight in gold. I don’t want to spend my money on products that don’t blow me away (she says as she switches out the three SF lip oils for the OH ones) 😘
about the tower 28 lip softies, it would appear that one of their main ingredients is shea butter! shea butter melts easily at body temp and crystallises into gritty bits as it cools back down. you need to keep them out of the sun and out of your palm or pocket.... which is EXTREMELY high maintenance. to fix it you can try disrupting the cooling process (squishing the tube while it cools) or placing in the fridge/freezer after its melted down to cool it quickly.
@@parkedawn my skin hates shea butter. and coconut oil. most natural oil/fat based products like that make me break out like a bish! im all for more synthetic/"unclean" (blegh to that term tho) ingredients bc of it haha silicones and glycerin and petroleum jelly based products are my faves for moisture in hair and skin! vanicream and cerave creams the thick ones in the pump jars has been my go to moisturizer for a couple years now, the only ones that dont make me break out like a bitch while also moisturizing my skin enough and also soaking right in and they don't leave a greasy feel even if i put several layers on.
altho if anyone has any recommendations for something even more moisturizing than vanicream and the cerave heavy cream, pls let me know!! i dont like having to take the time to put several layers of moisturizer on multiple times a day in the winter. my skin doesn't do the oil thing, like at all. i sweat a ton but like. its like the kind that just evaporates to cool you down and dries your skin out if you leave it there too long, not the oily kind. if i do the "finger swipe test" wher eyou wash your face witha gentle face wash, then no other skin care and swipe a clean finger on certain spots on your face and see how much oil comes off, i don't get any visible oil on my figner til around the 16 hour mark, and only on my chin right under my lip and under where my glasses sit. otherwise to get oil on my finger without moisturizing i need to wait like a full 24 hours. my cheeks never becoem visibly oily to the naked eye tho, even after like a week of depresso bed time.
Thank you for giving honest feedback in a laidback way. It’s so refreshing to not feel purchase pressure. I know which ones are truly good. Seriously. Thanks.
It’s true. Especially with all the Sephora sale videos with affiliate links. I won’t watch them. My 10% off is nothing compared to sales individual companies will give out.
Lauren, you are the only RUclipsr who speaks my language in terms of light & shimmer! I always know exactly what you mean & appreciate the detail you give us! I spent 20 years waiting to get eyeshadows with this much shine, no amount of detail is too much lol
As an old makeup girlie. Tarte used to make blush sticks like the milk ones back in the day. You’d think they would bring them back with the popularity of the blush sticks
I keep my daily microfoliant in the shower and I've never had issues with mould. I even had the tatcha rice powder in the shower for a good couple of years, and no mould. Maybe you got a bad batch, or do you not close the lids tightly?
I am shook to find out that some eye creams aren’t for the entire eye area! I always use mine on my eyelid, up to my brow, on my under eye and the outer eye! I’m going to have to look more into that! I wonder if that’s part of the reason my eyelids are getting more textured!
I just had major surgery so my skincare has been super basic for a few weeks. My eyelids were also getting a weird texture, not using eye cream has made them look better. In future I'll stick to the brow area and under the eye, I'm 45 so I thought I needed it, especially as a makeup artist ages ago said I had dry skin there, I really don't think I do, perhaps it was a bad day!
Most are not. Cliniques eye creams are ophthalmologist tested, which means they can be used on entire eye area. All About Eyes is fabulous all over the eye area. It's so comforting and smoothing.
Lauren GET the Cheriosa 59 lotion and pair them. I stg it's like vanilla icing! As soon as I applied this combo I literally thought Lauren would go absolutely crazy for this!! 💕
I have a banana flavored lanolips or whatever it's called. I assumed it'd be clear on. I'd blindly load my dry lips up with the balm. One day i caught a glimpse in the mirror, and the yellow hue almost looked like i had an infection or something 😂
i can imagine this video took several hours to film, so i am SO appreciative of you for doing it! this type of video is my absolute favorite, kinda just like you said at the end, “makeup chatter in the background.” i came back to this video i think 4 times before i finished it. love love love your reviews always!
Preferences are so unique, your description of the Fenty Cherry Lip Balm makes me want it. I like those gritty balms that melt on the lips. Thank you for this video of thorough reviews!
Lauren you should think about the Prequel Gleanser it’s amazing and the whole line is about barrier building and protecting. . Luv the reviews and your honesty is so needed . Thank you 🙏 truely Lauren we all love you and your channel and community.
Fun seeing this comment! I literally just got the Gleanser 3 days ago and I really LOVE IT!!!!!! it's a fabulous cleanser, I'm soooo grateful that all the positive reviews were accurate💜💜 their prices aren't outrageous, I also got their 'basic' moisturizer and it's equally as fab, great texture & doesn't upset my winter-dry skin. love that it's affordable & large enough that i don't feel guilty using it on my body! def want to try more products lol, but excited to find such great products i'm excited for prequel lol
I love the way you describe and talk about textures because I feel the same! As for products that can give milia, I've noticed products that have Shea in it does this for me.
This long video absolutely made my very early Sunday morning, Lauren - thank you! Side note-try the Glossier eye cream on one eye, and your favorite on the other; do that for a few weeks and then you should be able to tell what’s going on.
6:55 About the tenth concealer: for me personally, this is the best concealer I’ve used probably ever? My skin is super pale, super dry, and super sensitive. Never had I encountered a concealer too white for me (which is amazing in its own right) but I also find it stupidly difficult to find one that just matches my skin tone enough to wear alone without a full base overtop. I have two colors of this and wear them EVERYTIME I do my makeup. The coverage is great for my under eyes and cheeks and basically anywhere, not amazing coverage for spot concealing though. It’s so thin and light so it doesn’t irritate my skin after a long day of wear. The finish is so smooth and seamless without being drying or crackling or clinging! I usually just set with a translucent powder and setting spray before I go out and it wears great for what I need 👍 solid 9/10 from me. Just somethings to consider for the other sensitive girlies
The Moira single shadow you showed almost looks closer to the Urban Decay Moondust shadow in Lithium instead of Space Cowboy. I’d be interested to see how close they are. Love your videos!!! ❤
New follower here! I LOVE these thoughrough reviews, a discussion of WHY you like/dislike something and what alternate product one can use instead for whatever reason. Angie does this too. And Hannah Louise Poston. And a lot of others. And yes, the videos goes on for about a lifetime (and I don´t have the time to watch them all), but they are way more helpful than "it´s nice, buy it, thanks, bye!". Now I plan to scroll through your content and watch a few more videos before life needs to be lived again. 💚
I’m so glad you mentioned the Ole Henrisken cocoa scent being metallic/ 🩸 like!! I put it on my lips and could not believe, thought my mind way playing tricks. The strawberry is so good but man I was hoping for such a good chocolate my cocoa scent 😢
Lauren, I really enjoy your videoes because you explain products fairly and honestly. Like you, I am quite fair. (And older) I can't use bronzer to add colour to my face because it looks like I put mud on my face. I gave always used blush. ( What do you use and could you please demo your application? Thank-you Lauren. Have a lovely day all! 😊
I was so excited for the cotton candy lip mask but I finally made it to Sephora yesterday to smell and it and it smells so similar to the gummy bear (purple) that I’ve been working my way through for a year+ LOL oh well I saved $25
💯it was my first laneige product/lip sleeping mask and I love all things cotton candy and don't get me wrong, I don't hate the product, but the smell is absolutely NOT cotton candy.
The Caliray come hell or high water tubing mascara is my holy grail. I can only use tubing mascaras and most give me 4-5 lashes. Lol. This one still gives me the volume I want.
I haven't been watching your channel very long but you are quickly becoming a favorite! I love how clear you are on how you describe the products and that you always give us the why you feel the way you do about a product without being overly negative or hyper positive. Just funny and to the point. Plus you always have the best eyelooks that are colorful and sparkly but still very wearable. Love! ❤
Man RUclips has needed you for sooooo long!!!! You give me old school no lies keep it real vibes before heavy sponserships came to play and I love you for that girl ❤🎉
Really wonderfully comprehensive review of a great assortment of products! You made me get the Ellis Brooklyn Peach! I had to stop your video and order it from Sephora 😂. Keep up the great work ❤❤❤
I was also disappointed with the Fenty concealer. I am 58 and find even a dot is like I did the 2017 triangle method with my concealer. I used my usual skincare and foundations that work. It still looked so thick and drying. I thought it was me!
thank you for talking about the Ole Henriksen lip pouts!! i absolutely love the formula. favorite actually hydrating gloss i’ve ever used! totally beats summer fridays in my opinion the fact they are a few bucks cheaper, few commonly available not constantly sold out and they are available at ulta which for me is more accessible than a sephora, especially a stand alone sephora to grab a summer fridays
I saw someone say that the kosas BB burst feels like lip balm on the face! I was intrigued up until that lol. My dry skin might love it but it sounds like a nightmare! 😅
I love the new Kosas BB burst. I'm 62 with good, normal skin. I tried it over clean, prepped skin using my fingers. It was ok. I tried it over clean prepped skin and my favorite warm weather sunscreen Paula's Choice Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 using a damp sponge and it is AMAZING. It covers my broken capillaries on my cheeks, smooths and perfects my skin, is buildable yet does not look like a face of makeup. I set with a light loose powder, UD allnighter in translucent. This does not get oily on my t-zone, doesn't dry out my cheeks or around mouth which can be an issue after all day wear. It says nice looking and doesn't wear off my nose, which happens with just about any other foundation. I use an oil free but not a gel moisturizer underneath. I think gels or water gel-creams would be good underneath this. I think it would be great over a primer too. I hated the previous Kosas shimmery thing and also hated the spf she mentioned. I recommend trying this. Get a sample from Sephora and try it a few ways. Definitely worked the best using a damp sponge regardless of the products underneath.
Idk how this is the first time I've stumbled on your channel, but I'm sooooo obsessed with you! You're so pretty and the way you laugh is very contagious. I watched this whole video and it just made my day! I'm so glad I found you and your content. New subscriber and fan. :)
Really holding out that the summer fridays bday balm will come back in stock at Sephora, but telling myself I don't NEED to hunt it down otherwise lol. I've been watching your fragrance videos on your other channel. Would love to see your top wedding/special occasion perfume recommendations!
omg I have a few of the Make Beauty blushes (I adore them) and those eyeshadows literally look like the same exact size 😳 I wish they made the eyeshadows half the size, and half the price lol
Thank you as always for your honest reviews. I am actually wanting to try one that didn't float your boat. I have dry mature skin and think that Purlisse blush in that pretty pink might be just the ticket! I love the Flower gel crush blushes, but they are difficult to find. Do you think the Purlisse feels like that one? It looked really pretty when you swatched it. Thanks for doing that, even though it isn't a product that suits your particular skin and needs. XO
So far I have the milk jelly tints in my basket! All the colors except purple bc that is not a color that would look good on my warm toned skin, and I’m watching this all to add to my basket as you review! You are one of a few reviewers I actually trust ❤❤❤ you and Morgan Turner!!!!
Absolutely loved this! I usually put a couple of your videos in a playlist to have on in the background as I clean up around house. This was perfect to click and go! Thank you 💖💖💖
I just don't have any faith in the jelly blushes showing up on me but I love it for everyone else. I love the metal shadows, if you know any single shadow dupes for them I'd be juiced because that's just too much product 😂
Gracias a ambas ❤
I have had the new Fenty concealer for about a month and it's also not my favorite, but I'll keep using it. It's just not as good as all the claims. I don't find it hydrating, it creases at least a little no matter what I do. But it does have good coverage. I prefer the Tower 28 so far.
Hi Lauren!! Qq...are the Make eyeshadows glittery at all in general & during the application process? Doesn't look like there's fallout, but I thought the same of Surratt"s beautiful eyeshadow pods and was wrong so wntd to ask ❤ also, thanks so much for demo'ing a wide range of of products here for us xx
Best eye cream ever is ole henriksen wrinkle blur one.. No burning, very smoothing.. Btw i m 44 and have veeeeery sensetive eyes.. I also wear contacts and its no problem.
Love you describing the lip products..." Crispy, crunchy bits!" Lol 😂❤ yes to the Pumpkin candle!!! 🎃 Thank you for always being honest with your reviews... Appreciate it..
Wooooow. Come Hell or High Water mascara made your eye look STUNNING immediately. Like I just came out of full screen after 52 minutes exactly to type this.
Lauren you have to try bath and body works sweet Thailand fragrance ITS INCREDIBLE, typically I don’t care for their fruity scents they just tend to be the same, tropical and a bit artificial or cocktail-like but this fragrance (that for some reason their not making a body cream too) is amazing. It’s soooo sweet and almost candy like. I’m literally obsessed my only con is that it’s not really potent or long lasting but my goodness the scent is to die for
Omg! I think you're too young for this, but back in like...2006ish, MAC had lipglass pencils and they were awesome! I hope more lines bring back a gloss pencil, I'd grab them all lol
Just came across your content, and this was my first one. I love a long video! I agree with most of them, except your first one. I have been LOVING the Kosas BB Burst. I think I might be the only one 🤭. I have dry, mature, textured skin, and I prep it like I normally do and use a brush, and the Kosas is beautiful on my skin. I also love the Hourglass skin tint, the It CC+ nude glow, Lancome Rénergie Lift, and Jane Iredale powder foundations ... so if Kosas discontinues the BB Burst, I'll be ok - LOL. I love the Summer Fridays Butter balm and Laneige Lip masks ❤ ... I'm gonna hunt down Birthday Cake 🎂. Thanks for the wealth of information! New subscriber!
I love your reviews! Glad I didn't get the summer fridays lip oil... thanks for your thoughts on that. I recently got the Nikkia Joy Cosmetics powder and omg it is amazing. I have the loose and the pressed and I am so impressed. I haven't been able to wear powders since fine lines have been appearing... this stuff is magic. I also bought the new Tarte lip plumping shimmery thing and it suckedddd - so upsetting!!!! I might be brave enough to try a darker colour but the one I got was so bad it went into every line on my lip and looked gross.
Girl, I am having one of the toughest & most painful days of the past 5+ years. This is exactly what I have been needing to help distract me and make me smile. Thank you so much for all the work you do on your channels. I hope you know how appreciated you are 🖤🖤

thank you for talking about the Ole Henriksen lip pouts!! i absolutely love the formula. favorite actually hydrating gloss i’ve ever used! totally beats summer fridays in my opinion the fact they are a few bucks cheaper, few commonly available not constantly sold out and they are available at ulta which for me is more accessible than a sephora, especially a stand alone sephora to grab a summer fridays
I’ve gone through a bottle of cloudberry. I love it but I’m very dry. I use it twice a day. It’s been great.
Girl we are loving the long videos I listened to this at the nail shop 🤣
Idk how this is the first time I've stumbled on your channel, but I'm sooooo obsessed with you! You're so pretty and the way you laugh is very contagious. I watched this whole video and it just made my day! I'm so glad I found you and your content. New subscriber and fan. :)
Thank you for the chapters ❤
Agreed, imo, the dazzle sticks were disappointing, the glitter barely shows up.
If you want an amazing lip oil try out the guerlain kisskiss bee glow lip oil. It's incredible on the lips ❤❤❤ I got the lavender one😊
Really holding out that the summer fridays bday balm will come back in stock at Sephora, but telling myself I don't NEED to hunt it down otherwise lol. I've been watching your fragrance videos on your other channel. Would love to see your top wedding/special occasion perfume recommendations!
Everyone I watch has tried that Kosas BB Cream and no one has liked it. Not even my dry skin people I watch have liked it. You are not alone.
Yes its the Glossier eye cream, i got the same thing around my eyes!
My skin changed so much being over 50 and battling cancer. The RoC dual eye cream has 2 creams one for under one for lid....it has been a game changer
Can you do an all pink makeup tutorial 🥺🥺😍😍
omg I have a few of the Make Beauty blushes (I adore them) and those eyeshadows literally look like the same exact size 😳 I wish they made the eyeshadows half the size, and half the price lol
Appreciate your honest reviews! Thank you for saving me some money! ❤
Could you please suggest big cheap candles? (like what you see at marshalls or tj maxx etc) or is that already on your 2nd channel?
Absolutely loved this! I usually put a couple of your videos in a playlist to have on in the background as I clean up around house. This was perfect to click and go! Thank you 💖💖💖
I just don't have any faith in the jelly blushes showing up on me but I love it for everyone else. I love the metal shadows, if you know any single shadow dupes for them I'd be juiced because that's just too much product 😂
I dont own the Make eyeshadows but they look similar in pigment and finish to the Sydney Grace eyeshadows I own
The colourpop shadows would be a great dupe! I have some that were similar shades but actually have more shine and reflect
I really appreciate the chapters!!!! ❤❤❤
Yesssssss about the tower 28 grit I thought a must have gotten something in mine the way it felt on the lips almost like pilling
Would love to see the NARS blush in the shade dolce vita 😍
Weird I didn’t get any grit from the tower 28 balms but did feel the sparkle from the birthday cake summer Fridays one 🤷🏻♀️
Best eye cream ever is ole henriksen wrinkle blur one.. No burning, very smoothing.. Btw i m 44 and have veeeeery sensetive eyes.. I also wear contacts and its no problem.
i LOVE watching your videos to fall asleep haha. the long videos & you have such a soothing voice its perfect lol.
The TooFaced lip oil is so nice, I agree. I love the cotton candy trend too!
The come hell or high water mascara actually somehow fell off my lashes on its own. The Thrive tubing mascara works the best for me.
I’m literally obsessed my only con is that it’s not really potent or long lasting but my goodness the scent is to die for
Wow I could see the difference between the tower28 and the ole balms. The ole looked so plush and hydrated VS a film
When you applied the tower28
Your eyelashes change colour when you look up or down! I didn't notice until you mentioned it but it's so pretty 😍 deffo need to try that ❤
I need the milk makeup jelly stick thing in some more natural shades
🎉🎉🎉 living for the long video
Yes! Glad you love the long videos!!! 😊❤️
Wow j’adore l’ensemble ! Ce vert te fait super bien ! Tommy est tellement drôle 😂
Thank you so much for talking about the Merit lip pencil. One of my faves right now and hope they make it permanent. ❤
Really like the purple eyeshadow. 💜
Your reviews are so relaxing-I love watching them
