There's actually a pretty nice little anime called "Cells at Work"- it's about the cells in a human body, in human form (anthropomorphized?), it's focused on a white blood cell and a red one as they go about their job. There's also a Code Black sequel that is focused on trauma to the body and how how the cells work in emergency situations
Jokes on you, there's already an Anime about White Blood cells destroying germs. And then there was that one cartoon, where Chris Rock was an Antibody or whatever. lol
This was the moment I understood why Soul Reapers pulled a genocide. That glove demonstrates just how monsterous a powerful Quincy in Soul Society could be because they can literally eat the world around them.
This fight was my first introduction the Bleach. I remember seeing this fight as a kid on Adult Swim one night and from there I'd been hooked. This is easily one of the best fight of the arc and one of my personal favorites of the entire series.
One thing I liked about bleach is when some loses their powers it’s not immediately gone, in retrospect- powers usually take time to eventually deteriorate Kind of why I liked the bount and cloned soul society fillers
So Mayuri's shikai is Ashishogi Jizo, which means "Leg-Cutting Jizo" (A Jizo is a guardian spirit that protects children). While the bankai, Konjiki Ashishogi Jizo, means "Divine Leg-Cutting Jizo".
I've also seen it translated as "Leg Shredder" and "Decapitation Doll" with the bankai having "Golden" as a prefix. Those where the original translations I saw when I first read it. But I've also seen the translations: "Patron God of Baby-Killing", "Gold Animal killing Ksitigarbha" and "Divine Leg-Cutting Buddha"

The difference was the quincies were trying not to put the hollow souls to rest unlike soul reapers but to seize their existence, exterminate them which would have messed up the balance between the souls of the dead and the living.
Derek Stephen Prince is the dub actor for Uryu. he has that gravelly voice and gives off a lot of emotion and Mayuri is the maniacal but beloved bleach scientist. you'll grow to love him as the series goes on
The consistency is so clear with TYBW. I used to think that Uryu's win was a bit of an asspull, but I'm glad they did it justice by utilizing the same abilities later on and emphasizing on the enormous amount of strength of the Quincy's.
I first got introduced to Bankai in the Bleach video game, Bleach: Blade Of Fate. Imagine my surprise to see it was the first debut of a Bankai introduced in the story out of all the Bankai we could’ve seen. How did everyone else feel when seeing this episode?
Mayuri Kurotsuchi is the most despicable character in this whole series but also one of the most interesting and fascinating. His weird head, his sword and bankai are strange/creepy af and that's why it is one of the most memorable ones for me from bleach. An absolutely wild ride. The most frustrating thing for me in this whole fight was not only that Mayuri survived but that he was allowed to keep his position and power within the Shinigami.

Uryu fucking rules, and this is one of his best fights. And the art and animation of his Quincy powers here is some of the best in all of Bleach for me. Mayuri is one of those characters you love to hate, proper mad scientist nutcase. Once you guys get to Hueco Mundo you will get to see why he's such a popular character. Without spoiling anything, Mayuri is basically the Gotei 13's equivalent of Dexter - he's the pet monster they keep around to fuck up other monsters. And it is really satisfying. But because he's such a dick, it's also satisfying watching Uryu put massive holes in him. Great character
**SPOILERS FOR END OF SERIES** Actually, Yhwach is evil jesus. The Bleach equivalent of Satan would actually be Aizen, the deceiver and former "angel" (Soul Reaper) who rebels and tries to usurp God.
You won't believe it but Mayuri's Ashisogi Jizo has the cutest, the cutest (creepiest, too, granted) Zanpakutou spirit in the filler arc with all the spirits. And yes, of course, by the end of this story, Mayuri will be one big ball of love, basically.
That ladies and gentlemen is a Bankai. 99% of them are HUGE things because of the massive power they wield; the way they are are huge varies from one bankai to the next but the point is that there is no small Bankai. Nemu carrying the antidote even though she is inmune is because Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo's poison does not distinguish between friend or foe and will poison and eventually kill everyone around, so Nemu needs to carry it in case an ally gets caught in the poison cloud; this is why captains aren't allowed to release their Zanpakutos inside Soul Society. Yes, Uryu lost his powers in exchange of getting enough power to defeat a Bankai, that's how stupidly powerful bankais are.
So in the next arc (the Bount arc), Uryu has lost his powers. During the first half of the arc he's kind dealing with that and deciding whether to stay with the team and what he can do to help. Eventually he gets an old Quincy artifact that helps him form and shoot arrows one at a time. Also in the Bount arc you can see the Ishida hospital. Like Isshin, Ichigo's dad, Uryu's dad is doctor. But while Ichigo's family runs a clinic out of their house, Uryu's dad runs a giant hospital. When Uryu gets injured his dad places him on his own floor in the hospital.
And we have the first Bankai ! Not the most interresting one, and probably one of the weakest, but it show how it can change a fight...Without Nemu present, he would have won !

I believe they got a list from a community member last episode or the one before that of who was in which group but weirdly didn't include names for some of them for spoilers reasons and instead gave those characters "meme" names so I think he literally only knows of him as Token because that's what the community member gave them as a name.
