Charmadi Ghat starts from Charmadi village(11 km from Ujire) and ends at Kottigehara(14 km from Mudigere). Charmadi Ghat connects the north eastern part of Dakshina Kannada] to Chikkamagaluru district and the prominent highway is connecting Ujire (9 km from Dharmasthala) to Kottigehara (about 50 km from Chikkamagaluru). Ballarayanadurga is a fort atop a hill located about 10 km from Sunkasale, on the Kottigehara - Kalasa route.
Ballarayanadurga fort can be accessed from 2 sides - the shorter route from Sunkasale, located on the way from Horanadu or the longer route from Bandaje. In the Charmadi ghat, there is a waterfall named Bandaje Arbi Arbi in Tulu means waterfall which falls from a height of 200 feet. Gadaikallu peak has an elevation of 1700 feet.

Those who fight with bus and lorry drivers on these type roads, hit them and put them in driver seat of that bus or lorry, and ask them to drive..they should realize how difficult it is to drive there

I drove in kerala ghats there people respect other vehicle and follow the rules. In this video the car fellow is too rude and senseless
You may be from a different state and that's way you feel that way because Kerala is one of India's leading law enforcers and one more thing it doesn't mean they are gentlemen on the road

That is goondaism. I travelled in this road Many times even during this period by car. When ever there is a way all the heavy vehicle drivers give their way including Mangalore Bangalore pvt buses.

What type of guy he was he don't have manners at all because the bus drivers have lot of responsibility on passengers they can't go speed on that road so the stupid car driver he was no manners at all why the car driver is coming on that road if he not have patience at all?
The guys who got down to fight are clear cowards, they have no idea of driving in such terrains. If the driver would have got down they would have ran away.

car drivers or small vehical drivers have to learn where to ask for side...In these tough roads just have to follow on moving vehicles.

In the neighbouring district of uttara kannada, the ghat roads (sirsi ghat and yellapur ghat) are well maintained compared to the ones in udupi and dakshina kannada districts. The two ghats that i mentioned above are important link to connect coastal towns with hubli and subsequently to mumbai via belagavi, kolhapur, pune.
I do not understand why govt is neglecting charmadi so much. The roads are pathetically narrow and horribly maintained.

It's approximately 280km from Bengaluru .You can visit Belur Halebeedu temple after Hassan. From Charmadi it leads to Ujire and Darmasthala (famous Tempel of Dakshina Kannada)
