- This cheap Yerf Dog go kart was in sad shape when we bought it for $100 and let it sit in Ike's yard for six months, but in today's episode, we fix it up, modify the front suspension, throw some new parts on it, and go for a ride! The Yerf Dog is powered by a Tecumseh 6.5 hp OHV engine, and the stock carburetors always give us problems. Someone began modifying the front suspension to give it a three inch lift while also extending the wheelbase, but they never finished it. We assume that they were going to put much larger tires on the front, but they never got around to finishing it. We put the Yerf Dog's suspension back to factory spec with a slightly larger tire from Go Power Sports.

I put a big block 440cc duromax on a yerf dog like this one. But no irs cause I dont know what that is😂 it's kinda well, awsome.

@@adamr9215 thanks lol I should have been able to figure that out. I really do have a yerf dog 3203 with a duramax 440 with the governor removed, a stage one kit, and a gopowersports.com 40 series torque converter. But I changed from the 10t sprocket provided to a 12t one and I am running an OEM 60t sprocket on the axle with oem size tires (20") . It does 47mph. The low end torque is tremendous. It does tight donuts and I really believe I am still under geared. If I can find a 14t center spoked sprocket to fit a 3/4 shaft (yes gopowersports.com advertised a 5/8" driven shaft on their 40 series, but it was out of stock they were selling it with a 3/4 driven shaft at my time of purchase.) I think it can easily reach th 50's. Right now I just ordered new bearings for the axle because I've destroyed these. It's down till they get here.
@@adamr9215 how ever, I gotta say, 47mph on a yerf dog feels like living life on the edge. I think I put too much slime in the front right wheel because at 47 it bounces off the ground. Kinda sketchy.

I’m not sure I would be using a cut-off wheel in the garage next to the pick-up because a chunk could fly off the tool and hit the truck. Even little pieces of the wheel and the sparks/steel could hit the fresh paint on the pick-up.

If they didn’t have the front I would have commented to make it a three wheeler. But senses that isn’t happening maybe put sand paddle tires, big fenders/mud flaps, and some pontoons and call it the yerfboat and use it to get to Ike’s island.

That front end ain't that bad considering what the trophy Kart front end looks like I am still having nightmares over that LOL no but seriously guys I am just having fun with you I enjoy all your videos thoroughly including Ike's Island which I just watched. You could extend that cart for sure but you need a piece of solid stock chrome molly or something pass past the cuts as far as you can then drill the existing frame with holes to bind the inner metal with the outer over all you want opposing holes per weld and go 90°s opposing for each set of attaching welds to the strengthening inner structure you are adding to it

We have that same kart. It is heavy. Our carb did the exact same thing. Never had any trouble with it but the carb and the steering tabs bend out and touch the tires if you jump in much. It is a good kart overall and can take on some incredible terrain especially if the carb would behave. We swapped to a 212 with tillotson mechanical fuel injection. I'm going to go to a flat slide and a couple other add ons. we have 22lb springs already on. 👍👍

I see ALL kinds of pulling competition's with tractors and trucks. It would be excellent if someone would come up with Go Kart pulling competition's. Having different classes and a special designed pulling Sled. (Maybe something you guys cane get started)... It would be BAD AZZ!!!!! I would even enter my karts. From the Honda CR125 6 speed to my Yerf - Dog... It could be loads of fun for everyone.
