@@bluemoondiadochi this thing is pretty rigged, if you mod your moped in any way, it propably wont pass inspection because its "too dangerous" those brommers are basically fast e-bikes without the peddals, there limited at 40kph pretty sure
@@thijsvanderlinden2209 That might well be true,. but i think the same problem applies to the existing ones as well, as wellas 25km/h scooters (which are rigged left and right). but there are also limitations in place for the speed and i cant believe the existing scootmobiles and brommobiles are much safer than this thing.
Oh, and the newest ones actually have air bags and seat belts, so theres that.
Plus, on the positive side, given the potential this vehicle can provide for city users, i think it's well worth a serious consideration.
Hit one pothole here in Quebec Canada and the Changli will be chop suey.
LOFL!
Hose the underside with a (very) hot wax spray. It's so close to perfect after one year, see what you can preserve!
With the red/white paintjob and blue lights, the changli looks like a mini german firetruck
Are these vehicles street legal?
What registration, plating and insurance is required?
@@Jtzkb no
@@williammielenz3752 damn. seems like the ones with a truck bed could be a good little work vehicle for large property instead of expensive golf cart and side by side
That's one beautiful ride man..stunning 😍
Did you legally register this so you can drive it in town?
If I remember correctly they registered it like a golf cart
@@gearshiv Thanks! that makes sense.
It is not legal on a public road.
Awesome rally stop intro! 😂
1 day after the warranty period: "yeah basically everything has failed"
atleast it's only a few thousand instead of 60,000 like a normal car, the 60,000 dollar car does the same warranty crap
All due to user error.
I've had mine for over a year with 0 problems
I mean 0 problems.
I read the directions and followed them
0 problems.
Nice touch with the Changli/Xinling sticker!
the wheel has a tube inside, its a scooter tire haha
What's up with the windshield defrost/defog? Is it related to problems with the heater? If so, you can buy a 12v plug in electric defrost and velcro that under the glass... Are there electric ports inside for your phone charger, etc?
You just need to send your EC to a mechanic and be surprised otherwise.
I was impressed a year ago, I'm even more impressed now.
I've had my mountain bike up to 40mph😆
Equivalent t0 24 mph for me (albeit downhill on a road with brakes that didn't really work, and a car at the end, which I had predicted. Scariest moment I've ever had on a bicycle).
So I see it as an enclosed golf cart. With an MP3 player and a "heater" in it. Looks kinda fun!
And a lot cheaper than an electric golf cart
calling it now, Changli will take over the entire beverly hills in less than a year, Kimye, Westdashian, all those ppl, so get ONE before it's too late!!!!
@@tythetyrant8919 lol u must be fun at parties
The perfect compliment to G Wagons.
@@Neojhun both are shitboxes, so you're not off there.

Ok you’ve got to be kidding seriously 😐
The G Wagon is a work of art
@@omaralkayal7598 g wagon overpriced looks like ass and breaks down too much.
That Calvin peeing sticker parodying American truck brand loyalty is hilarious!
Cheapest electric car? It’s a covered golf cart...lots of golf carts hold up after a long time of use.
This is also $5000 cheaper than a golf cart and is fully enclosed
Congratulations ! Thank you for the update. Have you ever thought about an LS Motor Swap ? Just a thought.
Cheers and Good Luck !
Seems like a fun little toy car. Id use it.
This cheap-o little car is fun and adorable!
The best savings in everyday life is to consume little, you don't have to have a 100 KW battery to drive to the grocery store for everyday life, a TUK TUK is enough for that.
409 isn't just the name of a cleaning product. To my knowledge, 409 is the number of times it took to perfect the final product. 🤷🏾♀️
Keep up the good work.👍🏾 Hopefully by the time you reach a standard of quality that you approve of I'll be able to purchase one. Or two 😉🙋🏾♀️
Thanks for the update. Cannot believe you still have this POC, sorry for my Chinese, lol. Comparing to this, I'll be more interested in the Niu e-motorcycle from China if you can ever get one here in the States. What category does this go to since I see you drive it on public roads. Does it register as cars or something? I doubt it would be allowed in my town since we didn't even allow golf carts on public roads.
I ordered a blue ChangLi after I saw Jason's red one and these awesome videos. The designation is called low speed electric vehicle or Nev neighborhood electric vehicle, many years ago the fed went ahead and came up with the designations for the vehicle so that each state could easily allow them on the road. Basically the vehicle has to get up to 20 miles an hour on a 1 mi flat level grade but not exceed 25 miles an hour it must have all the lighting turn signal brake lights seat belts etc, it must be registered with your local DMV as a low speed electric vehicle. They're also limited to slower roads in Nevada we can go on roads with speed limits up to 35 mph and may cross over roads with higher limits.
@@BSAElectronics702 so basically in slow speed limit big cities I guess? I never seen a Low Speed EV around here, only rental golf carts along the ocean. However, you have to drive a few 45+ roads to get there. 😆
@@BSAElectronics702 Thinking about ordering a ChangLi too. Can you tell me what the shipping cost is?
@@joycedibble8594 it's pretty involved because you have to use a customs broker to bring it in and all the charges are a la carte it's not inclusive like it is with UPS, Jason goes over this in some of his videos basically it's going to cost you about $3,000 all in.
@@BSAElectronics702 Yeah, sigh...after I asked you about it I used Alibaba's shipping estimator and got prices from $2900 to $3200. Darn 😞
Not for me! I live in Houston TX where air conditioning is MANDATORY. GOOD air conditioning!
What, two/twenty air conditioning isn't enough when you row your car to work?
Questions:
>Is it street legal in all 50 U.S. states & with which limitations, -or- what it would cost in both parts & labor to get it legal.
>Full cost if imported, incl import taxes & shipping & total misc (bottom line sum total).
>Insurance rates for minimum req by law & for bank req to get auto loan.
>Annual tag/licence plate & vehicle registration fees.
> Parts & maintenance (access & costs of parts, labor, and consumables ... like fluids, filters, tires, Etc.).
>Compare sizes to Toy Hauler storage dimensions.
>For e-vehicles, can an Xtra battery fit in vehicle to swap out, &/or accessory charging options(?).
>Weather hardiness: heat, cold, rain, and water inundation "puddles" + tendency to hydroplane, annnd workarounds (like airfoils, rutters, Etc.)
>Ground clearance & workarounds (Ex: undercarriage protection + winch?).
> Accessories available via import vs in U.S.? Ex: Battery coolers!,
anchors to keep from flying away in wind during storms and hurricanes,
very tiny camp trailers like ones for bicycles, car-side canopies/awnings/ tents, lightweight roll bars, Etc.).
I need these answers, too.
best series on jalopnik
Not sure about now, but certainly 10 years ago Chinese & Vietnamese "Tubeless" rims had tendency not to have the internal beads to stop the tyre wall from de-seating, the tyre might not have a puncture at all, it could simply have demounted because of the lack of internal beading.
The coolest shoebox ever!!!
Haha fantastic. Stick 2 ~10kw hub motors on it and a decent diy battery. Upgrade suspension, heater, mirrors and a few other things.
should have mentioned 2 things.... the purchase price..... the current mileage in the odometer.... great video...thanks
I have a 2021 Changli at the campground and love it.
What should I expect when purchasing one? Like how it's shipped and everything.
Nice looking golf cart!!
I want one they look like fun 👍
if it’s so good why haven’t you bought more of them?
I could hear the back-up beep outside my window! Opening the rear and saying “”This is kind of a rare item...” is truly a moot statement. Everything about this car is a rare item. CHANGLEE
you didn't say how many miles you put on it?
in the Philippines we use or perform what we call "kalso" wedging either a block of wood or stone against the tire so it wont roll even if the wheel is set to park .
Better than a Mustang.
This beast rocks.
Merritt's Grill!!! Nice! Come for the BLT pimento. Stay for the Changli stunt show.
If you're ever doing donuts near Deli Edison try the pastrami. It might be the best pastrami in town!
How Much & Cost to Ship ? Looks good for Moderate Climates. Thanks
Wow, jalopnik with good content?

Love the Wheel Barrow tires on it
Small motorcycle tires for like 150-250 cc scooters
