Updated tool list: T6 Torx for disassembly and installing new backspacer/liner screws (1/16” Allen key can be used for new liner/spacer screws) T8 Torx for Pocket Clip Screws T10 Torx for Pivot Screw
I used a 10t for the pivot screw and it worked good. So I think a 9t could strip it out. But I’m sure you know that being an expert. I just installed them on a big grip and I must say I am blown away. The knife went from feeling like a cheap hollow tool to feeling like a solid quality knife. You see I order the knife without ever actually touching one. And when I got it I was disappointed in the feel of the handle. Now I love it! Thanks man excellent product!!
To anyone struggling to get the D shaped pivot back through the blade hole, be sure to hold down the spring-loaded steel rod for the AXIS lock while attempting to do so.
I bought the honey comb fde grips. There Gorgeous. But I couldn't snug up any scale screws because the axes lock would stick. Had to loosen all the screws, add a dab of loctite and just flush mount the screws so it wouldn't drag so much.
I can see why there's a 1-2 day turn around when you send your knife in because it's nearly impossible to get the D pivot screw back in *extreme eye roll*
I having a HECK of a time getting the D screw through everything, yo hold the blade in place. I think it's just really tight tolerances. It came out pretty hard.
I am wondering if you can reuse the screws from your original grip. I want to replace the handle scales, but I also have anodized screws for my Grip as it is, and don't want to just toss them out because my new scales won't accept them.
Collides is a pretty strong word. If the blade is just barely touching the spacer make sure your spacer is pushed all the way to the back towards the spine of the knife and all the way to the rear. The holes in the spacer are oversized to allow a little wiggle room. That said, we have seen a lot of benchmades blades lately with poor grinds. I assume this is because they are making about 500 different models now and the attention to detail it seems has greatly diminished.
@@kenamaro3942 Its handy to have around to do a deep cleaning on your knife periodically. Over time grit will work its way into the copper bushings and make the knife open rough regardless of how much oil you apply. In that case its handy to have the t6-t10 drivers for servicing. Lowes carries a cheap set for about $10 if you are interested.

Just wanted to add that we have changed suppliers for pocket clip screws, they are now T8 instead of T7 as stated in this video.
I just received a set last week and the clip screws were T7. Is it possible I received some old ones?
perfection, I was having a bit of trouble and this sorted me right out

What’s the exact color on those handles?
My 550 sheepsfoot blade collides with the backspacer when folded, any ideas on how to fix it?

@@appliedweaponstechyeah I should say you are spot on with your reply
Does anyone know if AWT will do the installation if a Griptillian is sent to them, is it a service that they provide?
Used to be an option for about $10. Not sure if they still do. Just email them. The new owner is very friendly.
@@eaglessj Thank you, I appreciate it. I got the AWT Cross Hatch scales in black. I just don't want to buy a driver set that I'll only use once.

Other than being a different length and head size, are the pocket clip screws the same thread as any other benchmade?
Yes, they are 2-56 sized screws just like benchmade’s.
When are you expecting these to be back in stock?
curious why you did not use the new AWT screws that came with the kit.
someone didn't watch the video.
I aspire to assemble my grip kit this fast
Don't you mean 1/16" allen key for the two long screws? No way it's 1/8"
1/16" is correct - just installed these scales.
do you guys ship to Canada?
Look out for custom fees
Tip for everybody reinstalling the pivot. Pull down on the axis lock or it won’t let it through. Your welcome
So absolutely no tips for the hardest part which is getting the D pivot screw back in when it inevitably gets out of alignment.
