Wow the texture looks perfect, I’ve got some micarta on mine currently and looks like they don’t have many people making mini grip scales anymore, I may check out his site cause those are slick! I love this model of mini grip
Wow his scales work kinda like the g-10 & 20cv model. I have that version and the only thing I didn't like was how thick it was. Definitely interested in death grip scales now, will definitely be getting a slim set. Thanks for showing us

The Ti and canvas micarta 940 scales on the site are gorgeous! I definitely want to get a set of the Griptilian scales sometime. It’s the one reason I never carry my grip. If someone could make Griptilian scales around the $60 range they would make a killing but his prices are some of the best I’ve seen around. Thanks for sharing #dskfs

Wow, that not only looks great, but the difference in width is a huge benefit. I love my Grip, but I’d carry it twice as much with those thinner scales!

Very nice. Love the look the carbon fiber gives the knife. I did notice that it looks like the standard pocket clip doesn't actually touch the scales. Easy enough issue to fix, but just seemed a little strange there at the end.
Thanks David! Yeah it isn’t bent for the slim scales. Makes it a good candidate for a deep carry clip now!
Folks always comment on how difficult it is taking apart the griptilian, when in all actuality it really isn't.. That pivot tool that we both have makes the job SO much easier since the alignment of the pivot, washers, and blade into the handle can be a bear. I have 551 grips in all the steels BM released, from 154cm to 440hc, and I replaced all the hokey plastic grips with either G10 or Micarta along with standoffs.. Hint: When the knife is apart, apply some frog lube to the omega springs. It acts like glucosamine and chondroitin and will keep flexing for years without issues..

I changed scales on an axis lock Benchmade once. Never again, unless I have a pivot alignment tool.

Very nice scales. 👍 So when we scale swap the griptilian, do we really need that rear liner spacer? The -1 g10 ones don't have it. I always wonder.🤷
Keeps the rear portion on the liners in place and would be nice if it could be removed.
Had my mini griptilian for ages. Always disliked the bulky grips. This is just what ive always wanted.

Hi. I just found you on u tube the other day with you 940 collection and loved all of them! Ans I subscribed right away! I own a bit of benchmades and would really like my griptilian to look like this one! I don’t have the tools though to do it? The other in a blade hq and then the one in my pocket every day. I have maybe 6 other benchmades -but would love to have some scales replaced like my griptilian -also have the mini but never really liked the stock scales! Thank you for getting back to me about this also. Really do appreciate it!
Benchmade is the Glock of the knife world, mediocre parts knowing the buyer will upgrade.
They don’t have anything in stock for the griptilian now 🤦🏻♂️ I bought a second griptilian with intentions of swapping some nicer scales on to it and now I can’t find scales for the damn thing *anywhere* . Now im stuck with 2 black plastic grips. Only difference is blade shape. Such a piss off.
Don’t be sad. Email Death Grips with what you are looking for. He should be able to get something made to suit.
Does the kit come with the barrel spacers or with a liner? Because on the death grip website the pictures show a liner and I like the look of the barrel spacers better. Thank you in advance!
Howdy! So the scales will be able to come with a backspacer or barrel spacers if you indicate it with your purchase. The liners used are the original ones which come with your griptilian.
What are your thought on the Benchmade 940 in m4 for edc? What are your thoughts on m4? And what your go to edc knife?
Where can I find a bit driver like the one that you are using?
This was an exclusive release on Rivers Edge Cutlery, but the maker of the driver is Journey Tool Co out of Oregon. We should see more of them listed soon. Pretty sure you can sign up on his website and Instagram to keep an eye on the next release.

What is the weight difference with the new scales?
Stock weight is 3.76oz. After swapping scales it weighs 4.06oz.
