I still miss Lemmy, but vids like this one help me remember his life & enjoy it, rather than get mopey & sad, and we all know King Lem'd rather we laugh & enjoy his life than cry & whine about it, so here's to raising a glass to the King!?
Anyway Henry, since everybody seems to be categoric on that not so anonymous visit to an alcoholics anonymous meeting to get this show on the road, perhaps you should ask Tom Waits if he wants to join us…. Guess what? From what I’ve heard from other sober alcoholics we all end up visiting similar gutters when we’re at the top of our consuming game.
Honestly? As a 50-year-old man, the only time in my life I have -ever- genuinely cried at hearing of a rocker's demise was when Lemmy died. BUT. There was also happiness, knowing that this was a man who had never - EVER - sold out or diluted himself for public consumption in any way. And there is something utterly, timelessly glorious about that. 10% be sad he's gone, 90% celebrate the fuck out of the fact that he was here.
I disagree with your statement. He was, in fact, a God among gods. As was said, "Who would win in a wrestling match: Lemmy or God?" It's a trick question....Lemmy IS God.
Henry the guy who showed me that a punk could have long hair and Lemmy the guy who played so loud I had to hide behind the audiences bodies with ear plugs in to stand it. One of the best testimonials about Lemmy I have ever heard. @Martin Jensen it was originally the "Glasgow Kiss" but there are very strong ties between Liverpool and Glasgow (hence the "Rangers" "Celtic" call and response chants at the beginning of Liverpool games in the 70s and 80s to signify the Protestant and Catholic halves of Liverpool, respectively) so it doesn't surprise me that the term got borrowed, one way or the other.
