- HOW TO FIX AUDI VOLUME BUTTON FOR FREE - My Audi volume button has a mind of its own and when i try to turn the volume up, it keeps going down on its own or resetting back to mute/zero. This is how to fix that problem and its really simple and easy to fix it.
This is an Audi A6, but i guess the same fix can be made to work on all other Audi cars like A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q3, Q5, Q7 ETC.

I don't normally comment, but worked 100% for me, I used a good amount of electrical cleaner and left it for an hour before even trying it
A brilliant tip which worked perfectly for me this week, saving me at least €100 for a second hand console! - Thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
After subscribing following your MMI CarPlay vid this is the first thing that comes up! Can’t wait to fix this on my car.
Great video thanks - worked for me. One suggestion - use electrical contact cleaner rater than WD40 and it should work first time. WD40 has lubricant in it which interferes with the electrical contacts and can give problems in the future.
IT WORKED FOR ME! Thanks
Contact cleaner will be better i tryed it works
Instead of 10W40, a better idea is to spray an electric connector cleaner.
This worked for me. Thank you
Exactly same probelem at the moment. I’ll give it a go
Same right here. I wanna try it, but im scared that it wont work or cause any problems. Did it work for you?
Any ideas where i can get the vinyl that is ontop of that button. Mines peeling 😢
Great video by the way
Just by a second hand one
Use the volume buttons on the steering wheel? Use contact cleaner rather than oil based wd40?
?
Thanks!
How does the volume knob align? Doesn't seem to push all the way down
I got the same exact issue. Damn a6 2016!
Same right here!
thank you
I’ll try it
that's not a fix, yo have to desolder the "controller" open it up, clean it with IPA and resolder it.
This might work one time, maybe twice. But it's a very poor solution and really does not solve things.
Why?
