    Beeline 1 is great, there are obvious limitations to the device, but the minimalistic form factor is what drawn me to it. Looking forward to the 2nd gen, even though I don't think it's making gen 1 completely obsolete. I'm happy that startups like Beeline exist and are successful :) great job and thanks from one happy rider

      @@ridebeeline Could you please elaborate on what you mean by "we dont want to make the original Moto device obsolete"?
      I am asking because I need a navigation system and cant wait till the Moto 2 gets shipped. I am defintely going to buy the Moto 2 but until it gets shipped I am debating on whether to buy the Moto aswell.

    • @ridebeeline
      @ridebeeline  10 месяцев назад +4

      Of course,@@hanspeter-fs4in ! Basically, we will be continuing to support the original Moto device for many years to come. Obviously we can't update the hardware on it (which is why we introduced Moto II) which means that it doesn't have the mini map view as the screen is just too small for that... but, apart from that, we'll be continuing to introduce new features into the app which will be available for use on both devices 😊
      So, I'd say that it depends on what you are looking for! If you are after the mini map view on your device, that is one "limitation" of the original Moto to be aware of... although lots of people do love the arrow view.

    Product looks promising. I am from Chennai, India and interested to preorder. Beeline Fast and Fun is not available here. Does this mean that I would get only compass mode coverage and not the map-based glanceable turn by turn navigation mentioned in 1:10?

      Thank you! We don't currently ship to India unfortunately 😞. We have encountered too many customs issues there in the past but we are trying to find an Indian distributor 😊. You'd get both turn-by-turn and also compass mode mapping in India. If you are in a place not covered by Fast and Fun you will get routing from our default routing provider. The best way to test that out is to download our free app and enter a few destinations to see what the app gives you as a route 🤟

    Great update! Just sent in my pre-order for July, from Switzerland. Yes, there are many cheaper alternatives on the market. But that’s not why I love the device and chose Beeline as my go to navi device. I ride a custom Triumph T120 and care about the look. Beeline fits in perfectly. I also love the minimalistic approach, as I don’t want an overload of info when I’m riding. Oh, that Moto II Gunmetal Grey looks very tempting! I have retro style motorcycles, love the fact that you can attach the mount with the rubber bands (I don't like permanent mounts, or big nav units that look weird on a retro bike). It's small, unobtrusive, and the 'mini map' might just give it that extra confidence at busy junctions.

    • @ridebeeline

      There will not be a trade-in option for existing original Moto users. However, these devices will continue to be supported and updated for years to come and you’ll always have the street cred of owning the original device!
      To get riding with some upgraded hardware, we will have mount adapters for original Moto users to either a - use their current original Moto with new Moto II mounts, or to b - use a new Moto II on an existing mount set-up rather than installing new mounting.

The fact that you increased usability without compromising the design is really exciting. Have you all at Beeline gotten the issue with the "just off route" waypoints causing rider frustration? I heard you might be thinking of a user input/ press of a button to move navigation to the next waypoint. That is ok.
    Though, if I may make a suggestion....
    Currently any waypoint is considered a "stop". Often I use waypoints to just have the route go differently than as suggested by the app. The suggestion for improvement I'd like to offer is to give us riders two different waypoint "types".
    1. A "stop" waypoint. This one is where a rider definitely intends to stop at. This waypoint would also get the "continue" button press, should the rider decide not to want to stop anymore.
    2. A "standard" waypoint. This one is just for navigational purposes, where the rider added it only to move the route to a different route than suggested by the app (or rather to get a newly suggested route along that waypoint). The rider has no intention of stopping at that waypoint, so once passed by it while riding, the Beeline knows the route should continue (automatically) to the next waypoint.
    I think with this kind of choice of waypoint, the routing can be done much "smarter". Hope I could help.
    Oh. Would have been cool to offer past Beeline owners a discount on the Moto II for being loyal customers. 🙂
    Scott

      i bought a gopro mount from china off ebay for mine for less than a fiver, and used the extra bits that came with it in the box for the stick on mount, rather than the rubbish elastic band thing which doesnt stay still when you come to press buttons or take it off, as well as being worried that it may drop off when the rubber perishes, as all rubber bands eventually do, and it's been perfect and solid. the £25 they were asking for an OEM mount is ridiculously expensive for what it is.

      Thanks @tedhoppe5918! Nice, thank you so much for supporting the original Moto 😊. Because the Moto devices (Moto and Moto II) do piggy-back on your phone's GPS, they will be impacted by confused GPS signal (eg. in very build-up areas of cities or in a tunnel) but this does tend to clear up quickly

    • @Denouermont
      @Denouermont 7 месяцев назад

      I don’t even have a motorcycle but there are a number of reasons you might pick up a device like this:
      The original version is on sale for $180, very a cheap phone is around the same price. You can easily spend more than $200 on “cheap” phones.
      Depending on climate/direct sunlight, phones can overheat, with a separate device you can stow your phone in a bag to stay cool.
      A separate, secondary phone would require swapping SIM cards or paying for a second service plan which would definitely cost more than just using the phone you already have.

      Thanks @dmitrynikolaev355, we have tested it lots and have found that people find the screen size to be great for motorcycling too :). @ridebeeline  10 месяцев назад +1

    • @ridebeeline
      @ridebeeline  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hey @sorenmelchior! It is totally shock and waterproof (IP67)! We want it to be able to withstand whatever anyone throws at it and we have rigorously tested it 🤟. It actually piggy-backs off of the phone's GPS!
      It will work if you don't have cellular service as long as the phone can get a GPS heading (which it can in lots of places without cell service).
      The only thing to bear in mind is that it isn't able to re-route (if you go off track) without a cellular connection... but it will recognise that you have left the route and guide you back to it 👍
