Prince Nuada was such a lovable character to me and still is to this day. He was only fighting for his people. And was viewed as a villain simply for defending his existence and right to live. Humans greed always destroys everything and he proved that as a fact. Love you nuada

I love how Nuada is not as much a bad guy as he is a misguided yet ambitious man. He's got the good of his own people in mind and even though he goes to inexcusable extremes to achieve freedom for his folks, he is an antagonist I can easily relate too and - quite frankly - even root for. Awesome performance by Luke Goss, amazing fighting style and, uh, yeah *style* in general ;-)

Yeah, he's the kind of villain that I love in movies: He's not evil for the sake of being evil, he clearly cares for a lots of peoples (Mr wink, his sister(though the incest subtext makes it ickier), his peoples and even the small faeries in the kind of the one who tell him of Mr wink's death). He's someone who see evident flaws in the world, but must still be opposed because, for all his savvyness, the solution he propose are too simplistics and (especially) monstrous. And, yeah, he's hot.

To be fair, the Jewish people were not putting down the Non-jewish germans. In this story the fae are being put down by the humans.

I think this perfectly captures Nuada's character. He doesn't see himself as a villain, but conversely as a hero much the way Mordred was brought up to believe himself the savior of Camelot when really he was its destroyer. Excellent choice and blending of clips, and the song is truly moving.
THE best Prince Nuada video created. I cannot stop watching it. You show him in all his majestic magnificence, a true warrior. Better still, no ridiculous soppy romantic nonsense about him and his sister!

I saw this video before I saw the movie itself. The day after I saw this, I bought the movie and have since watched it like a thousand times. For some reason, this character resonated with me (and not just because he's GORGEOUS).
But yeah, this will always be one of my top favorite videos on youtube. Beautifully done, and probably the best tribute to Nuada out there. : )
Such a conflicted character, driven to the brink of insanity by his noble pursuit , to save his kin and other magical creatures from the magical realm from extinction, ready to employ any means, to sacrifice anything and anyone including himself in order to attain this goal , while not being necessarily evil. Altough some of his actions were at least questionable I can't help it not to find his cause just and so fit for a king of his people, we shall not fade......

Prince Nuada reminds me so much of a mash up between GoT characters set in a different movie/ universe.
He reminds of the Targaryens as well as the Lannisters. On one hand he has the whole twincest vibes down like Jaime and Cersei but unlike Cersei his twin does not reciprocate his affections and cares for/ is in love with someone else (Rhaella had loved Bonifer Hasty but was forced to marry Aerys.)
On the other hand he also reminds me of Aerys and Viserys with the way he wasn't above hurting his sister when she angered him and he looks like he could have been a young Aerys/ Rhaegar. A Targaryen/ Lannister love child indeed!

I finally saw this last night, and like you, I loved it mostly because of the elves. And I agree, Nuada is perhaps one of the best villains I've seen, because he is also a tragic character.

I agree. Even though he's a villain in this movie, he's too skilled to be defeated just like that. And besides, he's not really evil. He just stands and fights for what he believes in and he fights to protect his people and the earth.

Actually no. Hellboy is the better fighter. Throughout his career he has fought and killed dozens of creatures capable of laying waste to cities. When he first fought Nuada he was drunk and holding back. When he fought him next, he was still refraining from killing Nuada and both outsmarted and outmaneuvered him.
This is absolutely beautiful. There is nothing jarring about this video. The images fit the song perfectly and vice versa. That is quite an accompishment. WOW!!!!!!!

I loved the character of Nuada. I have a habit of feeling more empathy for the villains than the heroes, but this once I think I'm justified. He had a good reason to do the things he did, and I honestly dont blame him for trying to rescue his race.
As far as I'm concerned, characters like Nuada never die. The more we think about them, the longer they live on. :)

This was the saddest movie.
In the last battle seen between Nuada and Hellboy he takes his gloves off. When Nuada kills the security guard he wears gloves to protect his hands from the toothfairies in the crate.

Thats actually really good thinking but maybe it's more that Nuada is in Arthur's position of (accidently only Nuada wouldn't do it accidently ;) making love with his own sister.
I actually pictured it more like Nuada is Mordred (betraying his father) and his greed/ drive is Morgana, his sister is Gwen in the sense that she's the innocent victim of circumstance.
