As a Scotsman I always support Tom and Luke but I have to admit I thought you would win this year, hopefully your injuries heal and we can see you at 100%. You are a credit to the sport, the coming years competition between Tom,Evan and yourself is going to be epic.

    • @tinymahuta

Not Evan, he only made it to 3rd because it was a weaker lineup than most years.

@tinymahuta tbh Mateauz would have found it difficult to podium solidly knowing he had the deadlift

@@petershortland478 it's all ifs and buts, but Mateusz is very good at throw for height, would have probably got top two in the conans, is pretty good at axle, very good at yoke and frame, and good at stones. I could absolutely see him on the podium.

When Brian came 2 nd he said he was first looser! Did not open his second place trophy for a year.
Your approach is , IMO a better one. Three years ago you did your first ever international show . WSM 2022. Won your group and came 8 th ,l think. First place 2023👑🦀. So honestly , along with your other wins and podium places you have had a brilliant start . Second place 2024 WSM given set back with hands and up against an improved version of Tom. Three Times Tommy, or Tommy Three Times asa certain Italian calls him, is no bad achievement .

I would recommend listening to what a strongman has to teach over a bodybuilder any day of the week (even though I love Dr Mike and RP) and even if you disagree with Mitch. It's crazy how few strongmen ever make it to the WSM final, let alone the podium there. Many well respected retired guys peaked at 3rd or 4th at WSM. So coming second should be lauded. And yet because you have previously taken first, instead there are a ton of people ready to call you washed up or "on your way out." As if taking second place in the world is somehow a major loss. It's really a victory.

    • @MellonVegan
      @MellonVegan 7 месяцев назад +1

Bryce thinks it's better for the sport bc it gets more eyes glued to the screen and more people exposed to strongman.
Only issue is that it's better for the sport in the UK and the US exclusively.
Getting the general population acquainted with the sport is certainly great to get bums in seats at Giants Live, which is surely why he gets the impression that it grows the sport.
But since it excludes other countries from getting any kind of proper coverage within even a year of the comp happening, it's terrible for the sport anywhere else.
Which he wouldn't know bc he's not from there.
At least that's my guess (the latter half of my comment).

Whilst massively behind in terms of viewership compared to the other big competitions, wsm is a criminally underrated competition and doesn’t get the validation it deserves.
People don’t seem to realize how grueling the competition. it’s a very long competition and indirectly exemplifies that you still need to be very strong over a long period rather than just simply lifting the most in order to considered the worlds strongest man.
Even with a torn hand at the start Mitch, you still proved that you are among the best in the world right now

You can't do better than your best, and I think you did that. Damn shame about the first event and all the pain and suffering, but it wasn't enough to derail the podium streak. And yes, the WSM title is for life. 🏆

I don't understand how you only got 1 point for beating him in the first one, and he got 2.5 for beating you by one rep in the second one! 🤔🧐
    Can someone please explain?
