God forbid you do something you enjoy and get "compensated" in some form 🤣. I'm with you, "Here's what I'm doing, you're all welcome to come along for the ride". I know I could grow my channel substantially and make a decent amount of money on the side if I did tons of plugin videos and took every endorsement opportunity that was thrown at me. I hate doing a lot of that stuff and only focus on things and ideas I think are cool. You do the same things, that's why I watch most of your videos. It's just that simple...

    Keep it up!

Jeremy, you're a God sent! Your channel spits out the truth and the truth shall set you free. Its so rewarding to know that everything in life doesn't have to have a price tag for it to be of substance.Everybody's screaming all the time if you don't have a certain product a certain mic a certain eq, compressor etc, your music will be lacking. I noticed lately a lot of you tubers especially the newbies are selling their souls for whatever reason. being a midwesterners myself I know the hard work and sacrifice that goes into your craft at the end of the day trip and error sometimes is your best teacher and what you can take from other likeminded engineers in the industry. keep up the great work just what the recording industry needs. oh wow cool you're form the great state of Indiana I'm just one and a half hour west of South Bend in Illinois so I may not be that far from your studio. I hardly ever sub but I will for this channel.

I love experimenting, and love your mic vids, especially. So cool how you generally try those tools outside of their intended purpose, and get really interesting sounds. Thanks for showcasing those musicians, as well. Much love!

Back when I was working with my DIY band, I would have JUMPED at the chance to record in your studio. The sort of evergreen publicity and exposure bucks is worth its weight in gold, whether cameras are on or raw tracks go out. It’s a pretty unique opportunity.

I've made a bunch of videos for my channel and the most viewed videos for a long time where about what gear to buy. I kept making these videos and occasionally got to work with some companies I really wanted to try their stuff. That was cool, but as a consumer of youtube I've become tired of being sold too on youtube.
I really stopped making videos on gear unless it's something I feel needs to be talked about. Like if it something I wish I had known about it sooner. I think it's hard to trust channels that are sponsored by Sweetwater with a shit of Affiliate links.
I'm not trying to throw shade or anything. Making money of making youtube is living the dream or a version of it. Getting free gear is also cool. It just sucks that big channels start to feel like an ad all of the time.
I appreciate that you're saying you can great music with cheap gear. I feel like the GAS is a dragon aspiring Audio Engineers are always fighting. I spent $20,000 at one point chasing a sound and went to audio school at Blackbird because of my gear obsession.
After that I sold everything. I record my band and any band I work with on a Behringer 18x air. I love nice microphones, but the Behringer is an amazing piece of gear for the price and I don't miss my API 3124 or heritage mic pres.
If I need that sound I can always use plugins to get that flavor.
Sorry for the novel. I basically quit youtube because I didn't want to be another voice just selling gear. I didn't want to be an ad agency for plugins or shit people don't really need.

Just from the first 2 minutes; I want to tell you as a new subscriber (I recently watched another 2 of your videos, and this is the one that got me interested in your channel), that the value I get from your channel is the perspective you give me. Into the professionalism one can achieve, and how that looks, sounds and can be set as a goal. I think your speech sounds so natural, well articulated, and genuine (you have humour as well, but I enjoy not having to listen punchlines and jokes all around, I like how the content is pretty chill in that sense). This opinion is very personal to my current progress, but I can see some of your watchers have a similar one. You have as you said, a core audience that is satisfied with your channel as is. Much lovee

Your channel is founded on a place of passion for you. Since I have found your channel, you've given insight on the music business itself from first hand experience and thats invaluable. You've given a lot of people very hands on information on many things and its nice to see someone willing to share your experiences with some of us who are working towards being in this career field, like myself for instance. You have a very professional approach to what you do and I find that very commendable and correct. This is a labor of love and if it makes you happy, guaranteed someone else will see the value in it too. Thank you for sharing all that you have shown, I myself would hate to see it go away.

To answer the title question I'd say, some are. Maybe more than some,....not 100% sure. I've watch A LOT of recording/mixing/mastering/production/gear videos on RUclips of the course of the past 15ish years. I've settle on a handful of channels that I believe serve up the best in terms of honesty and useful information. Your channel fits that for me, and, you being a legit working engineer/producer that runs a nice studio reinforces that even more. I live in VA and run a small studio, just me, so I have no artists/bands to push your way. But if I did and was in a band out your way would love to record for free in your studio. Keep doing what you're doing bro -- top notch stuff.

It drives me nuts that people have to make these videos to clarify things. I think you do a very good job of explaining pros and cons of a product, that’s why I’m subscribed to your channel. But also I know how to decide for myself if something is going to work for me or not. I don’t get the stupid hate comments

Your take on bias is well stated. I find that sometimes I have to remind myself that I'm choosing a mic because it has worked well in the past for say a female vocal, but I really should be open to other choices. Just on a whim one time I threw a Bluebird up on a string bass that was giving me trouble and it made it come alive. Who'd a thunk it?

I think seeing someone else that went to business school (as I have) do what you've done as a studio owner/engineer has helped put into perspective for me that anyone can become recording professionals given the time/effort!
Mic reviews & gear channels have helped me save money coming from a place of no knowledge in engineering just 2 years ago, so I really appreciate your insight helping with my decision making.

I really enjoyed your Manley Ref mic shootout with the Soyez mic. It's what got me into your channel. I own a Manley Ref and thought the Soyez sounded amazing. I was slightly worried when the Manley died on you. Touch wood mine's still going strong. Great channel!

We don’t really have much much out yet but we used to play in a band called minute details, and we played all over the city and even got to play the vogue once. I have a small studio in my house and have been trying to learn to record myself, hence how I found you!! I didn’t realize how close you were until I had been a fan for a while, almost did a spit take when I found out how close you were! Keep up the great work, one of the best channels on here! 👍

THE TITLE OF YOUR VIDEO SEEMS EXCELLENT TO ME, IT'S A COMPLETE TRUE, WE KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE LOOKING TO MAKE MONEY BY LYING TO MANY OTHERS WHO LIKE LIES AND WHO NEVER ASK THEMSELVES AT ALL, NOTHING...I JUST HAVE A VERY PERSONAL QUESTION FOR YOU AND I WANT THAT YOU KNOW THAT YOU DESERVE ALL THE RESPECT, WELL: WHAT IS THE REASON WHY YOU HAVE THAT HINDU OR CHINESE IDOL ON TOP OF YOUR PIANO? IS THE ONLY TRUE GOD NOT ENOUGH? IDOLS ARE CREATED BY HUMAN HANDS AND ARE USEFUL FOR NOTHING, PSALMS 115, FOR EX, DON'T YOU KNOW THAT IDOLATRY IS SOMETHING TERRIBLE AND THAT IT REALLY OPAQUES THE WISDOM OF THE UNDERSTANDING? IDOLATRY BRINGS MISERY TO THE NATIONS AND TO THE ENTIRE CREATION, THE ONLY ONE WORTHY OF WORSHIP IS THE ONLY TRUE GOD, THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL, YESHUA.
