Ignoring that I'll never be able to afford this place, what I appreciate so much is that it is clearly a lived in and well looked after space. I feel like so many of the giant mansions featured on this channel are meant more to be show pieces to overtly brag about the owners wealth than to be an actual place of residence. This is a living, breathing, functioning family home, with stylistic choices made to that end. It's much nicer for it.
Totally agree. It's a nice change for the awful mansions they've been featuring lately, this one is classy and homely. Such a shame that it's so close to the waterfront and without any elevation though. The whole area will most likely be under water in 5-10 years.
I couldn’t agree more! I kept having images of Tom Hank’s “Money Pit” run through my mind as we were taken on this tour. It’s a beautiful property though...
Amie- I really like her. She wasn't ostentatious and pushy...I'd like her to be my real estate agent or to show any of the homes we see featured in this series.
There is something so charming, calm and subtle about this property. The lady realtors voice is calm and soothing. Loved this house and for the amount of land and beauty this house is very well priced.
Can you imagine, on the spur of the moment you can spend the weekend at your seaside cottage which just happens to be a hop, skip & a jump away! Pretty nice!
This actually feels like a home. Cozy, welcoming and calm. I wanna imagine that the family who lives here is really nice and welcoming to everyone who comes to visit them.
Architecturally this is one of the most stunning homes I’ve ever seen, but I am surprised it was filmed and posted on AD decorated as it is now. (See: both sets of wall sconce in primary bedroom, bookshelf in fireplace in play room, cardboard box in library, unfinished cabinets in laundry room, etc.)
Honestly, I don't mind. The furniture from the owners is tasteful and jot at all outlandish. I can see the how each space is utilized effectively but still have space in my mind for how I could put my own spin on it.
I kind of liked seeing a home that wasn't picture perfect. It looked lived in.🙂 Could you explain why you mentioned the sconces...I don't know what's wrong w/them, thx.
This is an absolutely, stunning beautiful property, and the price is actually very good. I can see myself living in this home. I love all things Gatsby, so to be able to say I live in East Egg... well, that would be spectacular.
I was barely even 1 minute into this video and I already I wanted it because she said “The Great Gasby” and I love that book and the 1920’s are my favorite period in American history. Heck our history teacher even taught us to swing dance for that time period!
This is legit my dream house!! Edit: Nvm, I wrote that before they showed the "cottage". The f*cking COTTAGE is my dream house (it's just as beautiful, but the ocean view is better and it's smaller, so less to clean lol).
The formal dining room is sumptuous, beautiful choice of colors. The brown shades evoke warmth & the cream whites add a light fresh feel. I'm a little disappointed that she didn't elaborate more about the style in the great room, it's beautiful... a nice mix of Art Deco? Great price for such substantial size house & land.
I dont really like the interior decoration but the structure and architecture of this house is amazing. not to mention the location. whoever lives in this house is so lucky.
This is such a beautiful property. The restoration of that belong in the great room area is marvelous. The home has been well looked after and I can appreciate that. It has so much character and I admire the architecture. I’m a lover of homes with good bones
The price surprised me as I thought it would be more. What a beautiful home, the property is just magnificent and you have your very own beach at your doorstep.
This is stunning. Livable, practical, and above all is a home. It has a story. If I could only afford /maintain something like that. Wonderful job showing it.
Very nice property overall. I wasn’t initially very keen on the external rounded French Chateau like architecture (I prefer the squared off geometry of Georgian like homes) but it’s really lovely on the inside! Classy, warm and in very good taste. The location right on the waterfront with its own sandy beach is just the cherry on the cake! Worth every penny of its asking price. I actually wouldn’t of been so surprised if it had sold for nearly twice that. The best home I’ve seen on this channel in a while 😁
This house actually seems reasonably priced! Also, those older classical homes are not usualy my style but tjr current owner did amazing with decor and actually made me like it!
I would buy this and foster children there! Imagine growing up in a home like this. And also have some dogs and cats and chickens. That would be amazing 😍
Surprisingly comfortable and livable for such a grand house. It goes to show the care and thought with which architects of the past put their skills and education in proportioning, layout, circulation and detailing the spaces and exterior.
Incredibly refreshing to see a historical home's original features celebrated, while still updated to fit the owners' needs. Also, the ONLY time I believe one of these homes is underpriced.
I Love that even though the mansion is huge it still feels cozy and homey to me cause most homes like this just feels like a empty space and not a home but this feels like a home and not just a mansion. And frankly 12.9 Mil is a Decent price for this masterpiece so if I had this amount of money I probably spent it for this beauty not just for me but for my Family cause what is a home of no one but you lives in it.
I would love to hear this woman tour more houses without music interrupting her. I love the way she speaks and how familiar she is with everything. An absolutely amazing real estate agent.
Love just love this house, especially the laundry room with all the best storage options available, which amazes me because I am not fond of laundry rooms! Well done indeed to the owners who restored this house so very well!
This is such beautiful and tasteful decor. A lot of the time this channel has showcases houses that come off tacky, not this one. I'd love to live here and sit in that library with the fire going and a cup of tea, I'd get some work done overlooking the lawn.
Cool house!!! It's awesome. Loving the features and details of the house. The ceilings are so cool. I like that it has modern touches and appliances also. ♡ =]
Funny you say this, I was thinking the same! Maybe it’s the motor lodge, IIRC Sabrina lived in the apartment above the garage in the original film ? Incredible home!
Im glad that these homes are being restored and preserved they literally are history some of Americas moat wealthy have lived in that area had parties there its a an example of great American architecture and we should be saving more homes across the country like this
when you say the that it inspired the great gatsby do you mean the book or the recent movie? I'm just curious here because if it inspired the movie it means this house was built well before 1925 when the book was published
Look at me thinking this place is seriously underpriced xD. But seriously, this place should cost much more than it does. It would be a steal at this price. Ps- I loved this presenter. She is really nice and never tried to take the spotlight from the house even once :)
Beautiful house and location. The decor is beautiful and actually feels like a home, so kudos to the owners! Wonder what the per annum maintenance and taxes cost? 4% of the price?
For once a nice house, so often them realtors in LA come up with the most absurd prices for houses boasting to have been "styled" somebody fancy. Yet most of them 20-40 million mansions look tacky and above all cold.. not homely. this house is a bargain compared to those.. and it really looks nice.

I agree. 12.9 million is a lot, but the house doesn't feel pretentious.
It looks like a conjuring house 😂
Come on... if there's on thing we learned from 2020 is that anything is possible. Including you one day being able to afford a place like this!
One of the rare times that the price is justified.
And you are broke
Or at least relatively reasonable.
Indeed
it’s crazy 29 rooms 14 rooms guest bedrooms 5 of them garage and big land that’s a steal if you got 13 mil to splurge onna house
Well said!
finally, a classy and beautiful home in a beautiful location, that isn’t just a modern box in los angeles
Lara the westside houses are 20 k foot houses built on a 25 k foot lot.
It looks like a conjuring house
I couldn’t agree more! I kept having images of Tom Hank’s “Money Pit” run through my mind as we were taken on this tour. It’s a beautiful property though...
No comments about the agent/commentator means she’s actually just done her job and hasn’t tried to take the spotlight in the video. Thank you ma’am.
Amie- I really like her. She wasn't ostentatious and pushy...I'd like her to be my real estate agent or to show any of the homes we see featured in this series.
The owners really did well by this house with all the restorations they completed
I reckon to agree, Old Sport
Elizabeth N I would of added a lighted tennis court.
@@bngr_bngr Grand idea...
Old Sport
They did so well that now are desperately trying to get rid of the property. Blame the pandemic. Perhaps they owned many airline stocks.
It looks like a conjuring house
Always love when the house for sale comes with a second house worth 10x as much as my house.
Yup lol
Matt - You mean their "seaside cottage", lol! Must be nice.🏰😊
A lot better than many 100 million dollar houses I've seen on this channel.
Good job!
Thank you, Old Sport
@@Aliens-Are-Our-Friends2027 your welcome Gatsby
This is amazing, especially compared to that nightmare 20mil San Francisco house from a couple of days ago
totally agree
Thought the same thing! Makes this look like a steal at 12.9m.
I fancy you're right, Old Sport.
I was just thinking the same thing. Seems almost too “cheap” 😆
I also didn't like that house but we have to remember in real estate, it's location, location and location
Not me actually thinking that this is cheap compared to the other houses-
Yup
Lol have you seen James bond 100mil house?
location 😭
Exactly... There's houses in California that are 30 million, 40 million that doesn't look as good as this one does in exterior and all...
Why do I feel like this house should cost much more!?
I was thinking the same thing.
Perhaps, given the issue of climate-change, it could be at greater risk of flooding. That's the issue with several oceanfront mansions in California.
Quite the deal it is- Old Sport!
Eric Gutierrez most mansions in sea side areas in California are built on a bluff.
@Mary Ray location, location, location, Old Sport

For 12.9 million that is worth it
Quite right, Old Sport
Keep in mind it's in a fairly dangeourus place, probably It'll be underwater in a few years.

Necceessarily in a few years my dear friend, probably in about 60 years.
It looks like a conjuring house
IKRRR
The fact that she didn’t mention that the seaside cottage is where Nick Caraway lives in The Great Gatsby 😭😭😭 I gasped when I saw it
I actually am surprised that this property is not double the current asking price, two amazing homes and a beautiful spot overlooking the water.
love me watching videos of houses I’ll never be able to afford
nothings impossible
Nothing is impossible
Nothing is impossible
U can ! If u want to achieve then do it ! No matter what ! Ups and downs
I will afford it
It's so rare to see a house on this channel that's actually nice and seems worth the price
I found you 🤡
😂
This is one of the first houses I've seen that actually looks like people live in it
One of the prettiest houses this channel ever visited
Does anyone else wish these tours showed every piece of living space? I want to see every bedroom and bathroom. This is such a lovely home. Wow.

I drive past this house everyday! So cool to have a glimpse of the interior
Any other peasant here looking for Sims 4 house inspiration?
Why no, Old Sport
👀
this is such a great house, its not like the other houses on this channel, its much more homey and cozy.
I was barely even 1 minute into this video and I already I wanted it because she said “The Great Gasby” and I love that book and the 1920’s are my favorite period in American history. Heck our history teacher even taught us to swing dance for that time period!
Slavery was pretty rampant inthe 20's, so pretty sus of you 😂😂
omg this is so so beautiful, this is basically my dream house, i love the style of it. that veranda with the columns outlooking the water is HEAVEN
Finally a house that has style and looks beautiful aesthetically
This actually seems like a steal lol
the property tax rates on Long Island are the secret add-on price
And I'm sure you could bargain down to $12.2 Million, Old Sport!
This is legit my dream house!!
Edit: Nvm, I wrote that before they showed the "cottage". The f*cking COTTAGE is my dream house (it's just as beautiful, but the ocean view is better and it's smaller, so less to clean lol).
Amazing property. One of my favorite homes I have ever seen on AD RUclips. If I had the money I would by it on the spot no negotiating, all cash. Ha!
You would be getting fleeced about $3 million as the house is likely worth under $10million to be honest.
Actually a beautiful house that makes me wish I had millions. I think this might be my dream home.
Huh. Pleasantly suprised to see this doesn't look insanely overpriced.
Well worth the price, in my opinion. Not quite my taste, but it is lovely.
I am in love!!! This house actually combines livability with elegance!
There is so much to love about this house! You can tell a lot of care went into it and the people who live there actually live in the space.
One of the few properties I feel seems underpriced! This is an amazing property!
The guest cottage is a whole house 😭 and the motor lodge is a mansion In of itself
Standing ovation 👏👏👏 THIS is how you design and update a home. I would buy it in a second. Exquisitely designed.
"The laughing of the waves" I love that!

I read THE GREAT GATSBY in high school. It's a novel based on the Jazz Age shortly before Prohibition. Soon to be exactly a century after such times!🎷
Might just be my house of the year on AD. Hopefully more period homes than glass boxes in 2021. Thank you AD.
The price surprised me as I thought it would be more. What a beautiful home, the property is just magnificent and you have your very own beach at your doorstep.

Couldn’t afford the property tax even if the owner gives this house to me
Property taxes on Long Island are no joke!
taxes on this house are 8700 a month
I love that this house actually feels lived in. Most mega mansions feel too empty and pretentious like no one has ever even stepped foot in it.
This home really feels worth the price and smart actually
Just great. A house that feels inhabited by people who are elegant and grounded.
I would buy this and foster children there! Imagine growing up in a home like this.
And also have some dogs and cats and chickens. That would be amazing 😍
Completely worth the listed price and this house has been restored. Not much to do except paint it your favorite colors. Perfect location too!
I started watching this channel when it had around 100k subscribers. Now it has reached 4.02M subs. Great work guys 🙌🏻
I feel like this video was way too short
Surprisingly comfortable and livable for such a grand house. It goes to show the care and thought with which architects of the past put their skills and education in proportioning, layout, circulation and detailing the spaces and exterior.
This one looks worth every penny. It also looks like a home, not just a house you can tell it is well loved. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I could.
Incredibly refreshing to see a historical home's original features celebrated, while still updated to fit the owners' needs. Also, the ONLY time I believe one of these homes is underpriced.

Wow, great "modernized classic." Looks like a European castle outside, love to the size of the rooms - large but besides the great room - imtimate.
Could you do more stuff outside of just New York and LA
Not that many expensive mansions outside of those places
This is such beautiful and tasteful decor. A lot of the time this channel has showcases houses that come off tacky, not this one. I'd love to live here and sit in that library with the fire going and a cup of tea, I'd get some work done overlooking the lawn.

great detail home places. great for family or 10 ppl to live this place, not just a couple.
This mansion is wholly beautiful, impressive, elegant and comfortable!
I would love a more in depth look at this place. That garage/guest house looks incredible
am I crazy to think that the library was the room I most loved. In general I find a private library to be awesome.
Wow I’m no expert but this amazing house seems way more than 12.9mill, lovely renovations
Beautiful house and property. It's a mansion but seems cozy and inviting as well. Well worth the price for those who can afford it.

Would have loved to see the Motor Lodge! Beautiful house.
Solid, lived in home. Lovely!
This is so gorgeous! I used to live not far from here and the area is fantastic.
What a beautiful, TRUE home ☺️
