- Los Angeles artist Pete Morris is using his time on his daily commute on different METRO lines to sketch and paint fellow passengers. Fast and precise with pen and watercolor, he documents his rides mostly unknown to his art subjects. He self-publishes his work in art books and offers them for sale online. The 60-year -old artist is the father of seven children. As his legacy, he is creating individual picture books for each of them. Humble and unpretentious, he lives for his art.

Very inspiring! I am ready to hit the rails! See you next week end at your workshop in the Valley. I also enjoyed your demonstration at Thursday nights San Fernando Watercolor Society meeting.
Wow! I have just been directed here by a friend of mine who said you speak about sketching on the trains and that you have self published too! Thanks ever so much for the inspiration. Now I must go get mine self-published too!

Doug- It was great seeing you and your wife also. Thanks for checking out the video
I especially like a drawing of a woman with what looks like a house from Lincoln Heights in the background. I would love to have one of your watercolor sketches.
Great job Volker. Love the BW interaction as well as the many moving objects, esp. the underlaying tracks. Pete, congratulations on your life's passion - beautiful work. Maybe you can let me know when you have an exhibition.
It was great seeing you at Philippe's. What an inspiring video Pete! I'm in awe and will check out your books at "Blurb."
Such a shame that there isn't a link in the description to purchase his books.

Amazing!! Someday I want to sketch just like this.
But don't people mind/be intimidated when you're drawing them? I usually find people feeling uncomfortable when exchanging stares in the subway.
Where is your book available to purchase? Thanks I’m truly inspired!
