Just search “(your lake) water level” on Google and there’s a website that will pop up with graphs of historic water levels for most major lakes in the country
Hey Johnny how much have you fished Lake Jordan in North Carolina? Heavy Hitters from MLF had huge bags last year. I was wondering if you based suggestions on details from Jordan or are they generalizations from lowland resevoirs in the south? love your chanel!!
I fished lake Jordan 2 years ago and caught two bass over 8 pounds while I was there. The patterns will be based on tournament data from events like the heavy hitters and determined by the specific characteristics of each lake, along with current lake and weather conditions. Not all the patterns will be from Lake Jordan specifically because there's not enough tournament data from that lake for every season. But we do base our patterns off of lakes with very similar characteristics to the lake you select. This actually gives better answers in general from our testing.
Yeah, when I get it down in the rocks, I kind of pull it along the bottom rather than reel it straight in. It seems to get more bites. I'll make a video talking about it
Hey Todd. Have you updated the app since downloading? We have pushed a few updates that have added new patterns and fixed some bugs. You can get the free updates on the Apple app store and Google Play Store
Great video, and great demonstration of the app. I have the app, and it commonly recommends 'watermelon candy' soft plastics this time of year on my lake. But man, I can't find anything that color! Any tips on what brand of plastics actually produces watermelon candy-colored jigs and trailers?
Glad you enjoyed the video! Jewel Baits makes several jigs in that color and zoom has a watermelon candy color in almost all of their baits. Any sort of light green with a hint of blue and yellow will work though.
Yes, we classify each lake according to their characteristics so the patterns are adjusted to the features of smaller lakes. I use a Catch Commander Scale.

I use Google Earth images. If you go to your lake and drive around, you can figure out the water clarity by sticking your rod in the water with a bait on the end. Then pull up google earth and see what color the water is. Usually the darker blue water is clear and the brighter green water is dirty.

If you can figure out the offshore bite, you'll have a lot more consistent results. On the day in this video, the shallow bit was really tough, but I looked decent because I only showed he fish catches. The offshore bite was a lot better and I probably would have caught 15lbs if I was able to stay deep with my electronics. The Bass Tank has the best Livescope deal running right now. It's $2,000 for a 9in unit and a livescope transducer. You could then get another Garmin unit for $700 - $1,500 by your steering wheel and get a really nice setup for around $3,000. You can also go for a 9" Lowrance Elite FS unit by the steering wheel for $1,000. It's a great unit. I run one 9" unit by my steering wheel and a livescope by my trolling motor and it works great. Like you could click the lure it suggests and it'll take you to your affiliate link website to where you can buy that lure/bait. I'll take a subscription to the app for the idea lol JK
Usually enjoy your content and there is nothing wrong with you advertising your app, but this video should have been labeled as an ad, cause that’s clearly what it is.
It’s mostly the title. I didn’t really see that it had anything to do with the content. You may see that differently, but it seemed to a certain extent like click bait. I’m not a marketing guy, but I’d like to see a title more like “How to get the most of of my app,” “Will this app help you catch fish,” or something similar. I do appreciate your reply.
This was a one-off video to show how use the Deep Dive app I spent 2.5 years developing. I got a lot of requests to make a video in this style from the app users, but future videos will not be this focused on the app or any specific product. Just fishing
@@FishtheMoment ok thanks for replying. Like I said, I haven't watched in a while and just thought, man this guy changed. I'll check out some other videos. Sorry, I guess I jumped to conclusions.
There's a free version of the app that gives you one pattern and all the information associated with it. You don't get all the patterns, but it can still help give you a starting point.
@@FishtheMoment I don’t know if there would be a market for content based on the application of “advanced” principal/rules/theory to bass fishing but I would appreciate it lol.
This is old school fishing an most didn’t even know this you giving out to many secrets , try doing this 30 years ago with no graphs cause you couldn’t afford them.
You always seem like you have it figured out. I don’t understand what separates you from the top professionals out there. Why couldn’t you go out on a MLF or BM tournament and place top 25 consistently? Maybe you could and choose not to I don’t know, I just know I’d love to spend a day on a boat picking your brain.
That app is a scam! Says lake fork, Sam Rayburn, lake Palestine hell every lake I clicked on said offline. Iam unsubscribing to your Channel for supporting a scam product. Smdh
Hey Jeremy. Can you explain your problem in more detail? If the lakes say "Offline" it means you're not connected to the internet. You need internet connection to load the lake and weather data. If you are connected to the internet, it may be a bug on our end and we can get it fixed ASAP. Sometimes older phones from 5+ years ago act strange with newer apps. This is the first time we've heard about this problem and we would appreciate your help figuring out the issue so we can get it fixed for others in the future. You can also email us at HELP@DEEPDIVEAPP.COM and we can work through the issue easier there.
I could use that app while fishing in my kayak and still catch fish. Yeah I can’t run all over the lake but I can thoroughly fish the areas that I can. Plus having a better idea of what baits to use, how to use, depth…goes a long ways. Plus you can get the Navionics app for your phone and have mapping through it. It’s very cheap. Making use of phone apps is inexpensive way to have “electronics” even in something like a kayak. Knowledge is power.

I actually asked a guy who was fishing the same creek as me. My electronics seriously did die on me. I was really frustrating at first but it worked out in the end haha
@@FishtheMoment the app is definitely a money grab! Suggesting a ned rig or Carlolina rig for shallow or deep applications is not innovative!
This was one long commercial for the app.
Haha a lot of people asked for an on-the-water tutorial so I made this video. I promise I won't make all my videos like this. I know it's annoying when people promote stuff constantly in their videos
Many of us requested that Jonny do this kind of video to teach us on the water use of the Deep Dive app. Thanks Jonny.
Nothing more an infomercial for this app
Repeating myself: why is this app not available in europe???? DO IT JONNY
We haven't collected any tournament results from lakes in Europe, but we will look into it in the future.
Hey Johnny had a idea about the app, why don't you include your affiliate links in the app on the recommended lures. Like you could click the lure it suggests and it'll take you to your affiliate link website to where you can buy that lure/bait. I'll take a subscription to the app for the idea lol JK
Thanks for the suggestion! We'll add it to our list of future projects.
Usually enjoy your content and there is nothing wrong with you advertising your app, but this video should have been labeled as an ad, cause that’s clearly what it is.
I can do that next time. What would you recommend I say? I thought I made it clear the video was about the app at the start.
Thanks for the feedback. We'll work on it in the future

Still liked the video but I haven't watched you in a while and this just felt like a full product endorsement compared to before.
The app is cool but way to expensive. Maybe if I was fishing 5 days a week I could justify it
There's a free version of the app that gives you one pattern and all the information associated with it. You don't get all the patterns, but it can still help give you a starting point.
Johnny, Pareto distribution much?
Haha I think that’s the first time someone has used the term “Pareto Distribution” in a bass fishing RUclips comment section! Haha and yes
@@FishtheMoment I don’t know if there would be a market for content based on the application of “advanced” principal/rules/theory to bass fishing but I would appreciate it lol.
I have an economics degree and have so many cool models based on the data we collected for the app we plan to roll out over time.
@@FishtheMoment I believe that this data driven approach to fishing is mostly untapped and is very promising. Good to see a shift in perspective
In the beginning of your video, you say "no help". Lie. Turn off your "LIVE" graph and don't use that app. That's "no help".
Fishing with an app is ridiculous the entire point of being outdoors is to figure things out with skills
I havent seen this message on any of my lakes. Sounds like an internet connection issue but what do I know.
Your tips don't help anybody unless they're rich and have thousands of dollars of electronics and super expensive bass boats.
