Who cares about the freaking cameras, that is a crazy long list of improvements AND the price went DOWN instead of up for a change. Sounds like an all around win to me
By removing the charger, charging for the s-pen and case, they effectively price gouged to make it seem cheaper when it is relatively close to the Fold2? With poor trade-ins over here in the UK it works out even more expensive than the Fold2 (buy now for half the price). The improvements are iterate and expected and the average cameras though good are well below what we should get for $1800!

@@radroroscam3770 Technically yes it fits in my jacket pocket very well. The point I'm trying to make is the crease and big s-pen are part of the package of a folding phone's compromises. You won't see it go away at least until Rollable technology comes out.
Some sort of crease will probaby never go away but regardless, its not noticeable at all when looking straight at your phone. If you view it at an angle its noticeable, but who even does that under normal circumstances? Lol And who doesn’t use covers/cases? Im surprised with that lol on a $1k + phone i’s expect most people put some sort of case on their phone to protect their investment The S pen being housed in the phone would’ve been nice, but its not that much of a deal breaker unless you use it 80% of your time or more. Always seemed like more of an needless accessory for me. Wouldve been cool to have but never would have had got much use.
I really want a note tho. Just like you it's kind of showy and luxury things for me. I want a normal phone for day to day task. They feel more comfortable and trustable. And if I had to pick one, I will pick flip 3 as it's more close to practical
Great video. Love your content as always. "If you have a shallower pocket, the flip 3 is a better choice" both literally and figuratively as well 🤣🤣 Greetings from Sri Lanka
Someone replied to me this after saying the devices are only a Snapdragon: "Its Exynos outside the US, Exynos 2100, and I would definitely pick th3 Exynos one because it leats less than the SD 888, and it has better CPU performance and ISP compared to the 888"
@@MewAesthetic Actually - no. Exynos is way worse in every iteration. Maybe one day they'll manage, but so far it's a constant fail on performance and battery. Much better with the snapdragon
Every Samsung foldable in existence since the 1st gen Fold in 2019 ONLY USES Snapdragon. No such thing as an Exynos foldable phone from Samsung so far. MAYBE that'll change in 2022 with the Exynos x AMD SoC.
@@rnrnrn69 I call Bs on that. The Exynos Chipset made a huge Step with the S21 Series. The Battery drain isnt a Problem anymore and the Performance is way better
Definitely the flip. It just makes more sense having a portable feeling phone that flips open and having that normal sized screen. With the Fold, you get a bulky phone with a tiny front screen and unfolded you’re getting a mini tablet which you might as well just get a real tablet without having that big crease in the middle.
Try to put your tablet into your pocket. I can put my Z Fold 3 into any of my pocket without any problem. The "tiny" front screen of the Z Fold 3 is only .5 inch smaller than the Z Flip 3 screen. I supposed you are saying the Z Flip 3 comes with a tiny screen. What is really microscopic is the front screen of the Z Flip 3.
I would defo go with the Flip, seems a very well built device and the bulk argument, well, this channel is the first one to say that it makes a difference, all other reviewers say the difference in how small it is, is amazing
@@XYZ-ef3mo The fold may feel bulky, but I doubt the flip does. I have a N10+, and that's bulky as it is. This folding mechanic is far from a gimmick, at least for the flip

Well... without doing the teardrop design thing i don't think so. No one has really removed the crease. Companies like motorola and huawei did the teardrop design and just made the crease stretch out over a bigger portion of the screen, while samsung just didn't bother with that and has 1 straight line. I don't even know if samsung can do it because they are using folding glass in their devices.
@@andoryus you're talking about stuff that doesn't exist. Just because a material can be supposedly made that can go back to it's original state, doesn't mean that it can be used as a screen or display. On the other hand it's possible to reduce the crease and make it less visible, that's probably what all the other companies are going to do.
@@andoryus The problem with your whole argument is that the substance/material needs to be discovered or created, or the technology should be either under research or development. You need to back up your statements and give examples that are realistically possible within the next 5 years or 10 years. Tech is not permanent, who knows foldables might be the next big thing or it might be just a phase. Materials like the one you described can be made in the future but it's not relevant to the current development of foldable screens as right now it's just a fantasy. But who knows maybe I'm wrong, and samsung or apple is working on some top secret foldable tech. It sure will be exciting to see such screens too!
@@andoryus yea, anything could happen. what if some random mechanical engineering grad student figures out the cure for the crease? but it is tricky.. the screen needs to be hard enough to feel like a normal screen glass, but needs to be soft and flexible.. maybe something that could change material properties on command?
Top overview as always. I am going for the flip as I have had a note for 12 months and I am more than ready something smaller and more comfortable for the jeans pocket now.
I have used ceramic car finishes on my smart phones for several years. My S21 Samsung has lots of glass surface blemishes that can be seen when looked at at a high angle. Mothers CMX Ceramic Spray finish has made the screen brilliant and beautiful. This worked great also on my previous Samsung S8.
Great first impressions both phones look awesome however I would go for the Flip, cheaper and more practical to carry I think.... anyway I would wait a couple of years till the design gets more mature
Our Z Flip 3 came in early, and I have transferred everything over from our S10. It took a few hours because we have an SD Card on the S10, but I can report everything came over without issue. The settings, apps, setup, screens, and everything on the S10 came over to the Flip 3. The only settings requiring attention are the ones unique to the Flip 3. We have the Phantom Black and, surprisingly, it is not a fingerprint magnet. The fingerprint reader is quick and responsive! I thought the phone would flip open easily, as shown on many other reviews. No flip of the wrist to open ours. It requires two hands to open. I am not sure the color will matter if you get a case for it. I think a case is necessary because of how the phone feels in my hand when opening and using it. I have ordered several cases to try out. I find it a bit uncomfortable to hold! It is a longer device and feels top-heavy. Once you open it, you have to adjust your grip on it. You cannot adjust your grip to account for the additional length of the phone until you open it. You will find yourself doing this automatically when you reach your thumb up for the fingerprint reader. Even when I do this the Flip 3 still doesn't feel secure in my hand. I believe a case might help with this. I do miss not having a headphone jack as I listen to many audiobooks and like having this as a backup when my Buds+ batteries are drained. Due to the screen resolution, you will have larger black space on the left and right of your screen when compared to the S10 or other phones that are not as long. The screen seems to be just a bit narrower than our S10. The Flip 3 comes set up in Vivid. I had to change it to Natural for general viewing and in the video section as well to reduce blooming and over-saturation. There is one setting that is enabled by default which helps to access the menus without having to swipe down from the top or bottom of the phone. I mention this as a side note because it makes it so much easier to use the Flip 3. Just in case it is not active you access it by going to Settings --> Home Screen --> select "Swipe down for notification panel. Battery life seems pretty close to the S10 with a 3400 mAh. We are getting about 9 hours with the screen refresh rate set to 60Hz and using Dark screen mode. I did notice the battery takes longer to charge and doesn't indicate if it is Fast Charging? Fast charging is set up in the options. Fast charging will not be indicated when connecting a Fast Charger as we saw on the S10. It is there if you pull the notification screen down. You will see Fast Charge there if you are using a Fast Charge adapter. The sound is weak and tinny compared to the S10. For now, I am not sure we will be keeping the phone. I like the ability to fold it and put it in my pocket, for others their purse, or bag but you have to be aware of the gap which could allow dust and other debris into the phone. Some cases seal this gap so it may not be an issue. It might be a bit too tall for those with smaller hands. The extra height of the phone becomes a benefit when taking advantage of apps that use the multi-window function but there are not many at this time but you can force most apps to work with it. I don't feel the Flip 3 is worth it for us to change at this time.
im also big into tech and was blown away at the first flip. however i am very familiar with the buy the 3rd gen rule. and i have been patiently waiting to see the release of the gen3 flip. now i can finally get myself one and i couldnt be happier.
I'd like to see Flip 4 have a wider display by about 15% and length reduced by about 10% top to bottom. Also a built in small stylus horizontally similar to nintendo ds.
I would definitely pick up the Fold! That inner screen is just incredible! I saw it at my local Best Buy. Sadly, without the cameras of my S21 Ultra, I won't be buying one. Maybe next year...

I'd never go with Flip3 - you get normal-sized phone that just becomes a brick. Fold3 however could replace my setup : phone + tablet = Fold3. I never considered Fold phones as they didn't have water resistance, but now - maybe I'll get it.
Bollox, we are all used to the bigger phone and although slightly heavier the narrowing of the fold 3 makes it a great and first choice, I have and think it's awesome
Seems like folding phones have reached the point of only incremental upgrades. I'm fine with that, means next generation will be priced for mainstream.
I think they're waiting for competition to catch up. Right now Samsung's main concern is to make the concept of Foldables visible to the public and general consumers, not just tech enthusiasts.
I have the z flip 5g. The phone is a wonderful concept. Lets hope the new model is more durable than the previous model. Having bought my flip in the UK in November2020 and having pampered it to a point where while at home I wouldn't close the phone just to save the hinges longevity, in July 2021 my screen display burned up (no crack in the crease) without any reason. Fortunately this happened while I am in South Korea - and even though my Samsung warranty is not covered under warranty work here, the Samsung service centre decide to repair it free of charge by replacing the whole phone including battery apart from the ssd so that I wouldn't lose my files. Annoyingly , a year ago, I bought a family member a z flip from Korea that after a few months of use back in the UK the screen protector started peeling off. Having contacted Samsung UK, they refused to do anything whatsoever, as it wasn't a UK model. Quite shocking as its so simple to change the screen protector, and here in Korea it costs less than £10 to change it, and at the service centre they will change any model from any continent. In summary, as much as I love this phone, I won't be buying another concept until Samsung's after sales improves outside of Korea and also Samsung starts offering worldwide warranty on this concept.
@@daleycarter I can only compare the battery with the other two main devices I've been using - which are the s20FE and the iPhone 12 Pro max. The battery is awful, and with 5g on ......if you make it past half day it will be impressive.Battery charging is ok, I usually top up my battery between 40-80% .... with the battery being quite small, topping up takes approx 45 mins.
I think this is an issue with Samsung everywhere apart from Korea. I had a friend who bought a Samsung phone at Duty free in the US, go to Australia to find out the phone is faulty. Took it into Samsung there, they replied they won't touch it as warranty is not valid. So the only option left is to have it repaired in the country of purchase.
How do u want them to fit a 4000mah battery in that? 😂 just look at teardowns of the original flip. It's PACKED. There's 0 wasted space. Also the display is now polymer-less so the flip 3 will still have better battery life than the original flip because the display will not have to consume as much power to shine through a polymer and be visible.
Its beautiful thing but to be clear fold 2 and fold 3 are almost same phones, looking 95% same. with little hardware update. IPX8 is not enough to say this is game changer. Fold 2 has kind a water resistance to, there a videos on RUclips. I know one which survive laundry. More dangerous than water was always dust and sand, and nothing change in this area. Under screen camera, still not enough, you can see it mostly. Build, hinge, screens all 90% same. Off course this is next gen model but nothing more than difference between galaxy s 20 and s21. Big and real jump was between fold 1 and fold 2, now is just cosmetics. S pen which is not hidden in side, not for everyone. Biggest difference all can see coming from situation that this is 3 gen and people already just to fold devices and they not so scary about price and durability anymore.
@@damnbrosky the fold 2 has no water resistance at all. Water ruins electronics over time not instantly. That there's a video of some clown putting a fold 2 in water and taking it out, then saying it's fine doesn't mean anything. It will eventually start corroding and the phone will get ruined after a few days/weeks. The X in IPX8 means it wasn't tested, not that it's not resistant to it. The fold 2 already had no issues keeping debris out. Just look at jerryrigeverything's durability test video, he put sand and dirt all over the phone twice and shook it around and nothing got inside. It is a real upgrade and they are definitely not "95% same" 😂 Water resistance, uninterrupted inside screen, high refresh rate on outside display, polymer-less inside display for better battery life, spen support, dual sim, sturdier design and so on do not make this a small upgrade over the fold 2.

Sand goes not from screen side (Jerry rigs everything) but from back side and in some situations destroys mechanism, in some cases destroys hinge. Jerry did this for 1 minute and only for screen. I don’t like being encumbered by a lot of stuff on my person and much prefer being able to fit a couple of key items in my pocket. That’s why I got a smart watch and why I would choose the flip.
Imagine buying the flip, you're trading a phone that can flip into half the size of a regular phone for a crease. The fold on the other-hand you're getting a mini tablet in exchange for a crease, definitely getting the fold.
I just pre-ordered the fold 3 silver+buds3+case for $1200+ and trading in my note 10+. The flip looks better but I'm all about that larger screen for gaming and media.
Huawei, xiaomi folding which imitates Samsung's innovation is actually more expensive... isn't it ridiculous... moreover, Huawei doesn't have Google + OS like iPhone, just like that, the price is above Samsung
Pretty close to pulling the trigger on Flip....just not yet sure I can bear to trade my Note 20 Ultra for it....would definitely miss my S-Pen. I can use a generic rubber tipped stylus on the Flip, but what I would massively miss is hovering over truncated text (particularly in notifications) to get a pop up bubble of the full text.
My 2 problems with Fold 3: 1. How does the screen manage in cold climate (-20 Celsius) EDIT: Apparently Fold 2 had problems at Korea, while tempatures dropped to -18 Celsius. That broke screens etc... So what happens with Fold 3 and below those tempatures ... 2. Will other case manufacturers make cases with S pen slot with them. Because that Samsung Case is bound to be awful.

Already pre ordered my flip3. Trading in my Fold2. I HATE the narrow front screen on the fold. Makes typing this past year inconvenient. There weren't enough changes to warrant going from the fold2 to the 3. If you are a first time fold user than its the time to jump aboard. I, at one point, did buy a flip 5g to see if I would like the formfactor better. I loved everything about that flip minus the front screen. The new front screen and matt finish on the flip 3 have me sold.
The narrow front screen is what's making me hesitant. That was something I hoped they would have improved, the Chinese company, can't remember the name, created a flip with the perfect front screen, a normal sized one. They failed on the price of course, but I figured Samsung would be able to match the same front screen size while keeping costs unnecessarily high. Seems they failed again with that

It's understandable that they want as few flaws as possible in such an expensive device. However, you're right on what you said. How could people not expect a crease in a folding device? The fact that it's water resistant is amazing enough.
I don't mind the crease, but it's way too expensive. I was ready to spend $1,200 on this phone....but $1,800??? 😬
@@corinadiaz5616 the S21 Ultra is $1200. Should be understandable that the fold 3 is obviously going to be costlier than that

Really good overview/review mate!
Thank you sir!
for me the fold is a media consumption device which I'll use to read, watch videos, surf the web, game then use as a phone last
I'm a Note user and if the Fold is suppose to be an evolution of the Note, I'll consider a Galaxy Fold when Samsung solves the crease and S-Pen storage problem. A case is just a bandaid and it's for people who use cases.
Not to mention S Pen support is NOT equal to S Pen being baked into the system.
So.... Galaxy Tab?
@@mini9503 can you put a Galaxy Tab in your pocket?
@@radroroscam3770 Technically yes it fits in my jacket pocket very well.
The point I'm trying to make is the crease and big s-pen are part of the package of a folding phone's compromises. You won't see it go away at least until Rollable technology comes out.
Some sort of crease will probaby never go away but regardless, its not noticeable at all when looking straight at your phone.
If you view it at an angle its noticeable, but who even does that under normal circumstances? Lol
And who doesn’t use covers/cases? Im surprised with that lol on a $1k + phone i’s expect most people put some sort of case on their phone to protect their investment
The S pen being housed in the phone would’ve been nice, but its not that much of a deal breaker unless you use it 80% of your time or more. Always seemed like more of an needless accessory for me. Wouldve been cool to have but never would have had got much use.
Ordered the flip, really just wanted to try folding screen, I'll get the fold some day if I like this one
I really want a note tho. Just like you it's kind of showy and luxury things for me. I want a normal phone for day to day task. They feel more comfortable and trustable. And if I had to pick one, I will pick flip 3 as it's more close to practical
Get the predecessor for built in spen or S21 ultra
Great video. Love your content as always.
"If you have a shallower pocket, the flip 3 is a better choice" both literally and figuratively as well 🤣🤣
Greetings from Sri Lanka
No exynos on these phones is amazing news for me.
I know right 😁😁😁 !!

@@XYZ-ef3mo The fold may feel bulky, but I doubt the flip does. I have a N10+, and that's bulky as it is. This folding mechanic is far from a gimmick, at least for the flip

Fold3 is awesome, but right now I'm thinking of getting Flip3, that price is too good for a flip phone

Great review, I ordered both of them just in case. But definitely looks 10x better than any other phones on the market. Will see
I'd go for the flip. It looks like a Gameboy SP and a pixel had a baby and I can't say that I don't love both of them
Is it even technologically possible for them to remove the crease at the centre of the main display?
Well... without doing the teardrop design thing i don't think so.
@@andoryus nothing is wrong with that. i'm just saying i agree with you, anything could happen in this world of technological advancements
Top overview as always. I am going for the flip as I have had a note for 12 months and I am more than ready something smaller and more comfortable for the jeans pocket now.
That Flippy looks dope.
Considering how samsung reduces prices, it will be droolworthy by December.
Probably gonna go with the flip, it looks awesome. Fold is still to bulky for me (not to mention the price 😅)
im also big into tech and was blown away at the first flip. however i am very familiar with the buy the 3rd gen rule. and i have been patiently waiting to see the release of the gen3 flip. now i can finally get myself one and i couldnt be happier.
I'd like to see Flip 4 have a wider display by about 15% and length reduced by about 10% top to bottom. Also a built in small stylus horizontally similar to nintendo ds.
Yes, I'm hoping the Fold 4 will be wider (when folded).
Yes wider would make it nicer to type on half folded.
Can I ask what the weight is like in the hand ?
I'd use this for lots of RUclips usage so wouldn't want wrist fatigue etc.
Loving my Z flip 5G and can't wait till I get the Flip 3.
Hi! Planning to get Flip 3 but I'm concern if its durability. Will it last at least 2 years?
I would definitely pick up the Fold! That inner screen is just incredible! I saw it at my local Best Buy. Sadly, without the cameras of my S21 Ultra, I won't be buying one. Maybe next year...
that under-display camera really catches my eye, sometimes it is there, sometimes it is not there, sometimes it is half there. impressive, well done samsung.

How's the battery life and charging times?
sounds like the usual customer service in the uk....we're useless
Samsung treats the UK as second-class sadly, from Exynos to poor trade-ins and obviously disappointing customer service!
The flip 3 bcoz of the form factor and price to value ratio. Also I think samsung should have given at least a 4000 mah battery with the flip 3.
I just got a lavender flip 2 weeks ago and i recommended 1000% its very portable for small pockets and convenient for school
Omg the Fold 3 is AMAZING !!!😯😯😯
I feel like this is the first real galaxy fold !

Look on forums many people have this problem with hinge. Sand goes not from screen side (Jerry rigs everything) but from back side and in some situations destroys mechanism, in some cases destroys hinge. Jerry did this for 1 minute and only for screen.
My 2 problems with Fold 3:

Good morning, neighbour. I am a student living in Korea. I am very curious about what Samsung phones think in the UK! What are the English people prefer to compare iPhone and Samsung?
I pre-ordered the fold 3 because it is intriguing. I do agree that having an s-pen silo would be much better! Doesn't quite take the place of a Note!
I used to have notes but I guess things change - improvements in digital paper mean I use those A4 slabs for writing notes and reading books and don't use the note much any more. This is going to be my "one device" that goes everywhere with me now!
It depends which has the better battery life and louder speakers and better quality camera ? That would help decide but as of now so confused which I would choose?
Not bothering with the Fold this year. The 2 was okay but novelty wore off quickly so got rid. Trying out the Flip 3 this time as trade in deals on old phones work out well for once.
curious about what you think about the Whitestone dome glass they made for the main display of the z fold 3...is it worth it?

I would love a Fold 3 for portable sketching and digital art but will it not be useless for Spen sketching with a crease.? I love my Note 10 but can be frustrating for art work because of the screen size. I was really considering buying one of these but I am now put off by the thought of drawing\designing with a crease down the middle of the paper! Would be still ok for CAD though. Happy pay the money for this and put up with an external pen case without the crease. I agree though the unique thing about the Note is the high quality integrated stylus.

I am interested in buying a galaxy. But it has to he a note. Or a fold. And i would really love the fold. The flip is a possibility but battery...

Just because of the weight and size of the fold, too heavy and big, I ordered my first ever foldable, a galaxy flip 3 😁
Which is the wallpaper in the photo of the video for these two phones called?
Can't wait for the unboxing and review....love tour channel bro....much support from KENYA 🇰🇪 Africa.🥳
After 6 months of use, couple of light lines showed up exactly where the phone folds and after a week or so, half of the screen started flashing an intermittent light exactly where the text box appears. Do I have to say that founding and touching the phone damages it?? Samsung service said that I water damaged the mother board witch isn’t true. Of course warranty does not cover it. I knew I would have headache with this phone but didn’t think I would burn my money like this. It should be illegal selling this phone.
I can’t forget to say that with a minor drop, outside screen stops working. Look it up z flip second hand for sale, u won’t find one with that screen working
I would love the flip.looks good just right for hand bag size
What are your thoughts on the pros and cons of upgrading from a Note 10+ 5G to the Fold 3? I used to upgrade every year, but haven't been convinced of the benefits vs costs for upgrading this year and last year. Your thoughts?
If the flip had the same camera cluster as the S21 Ultra, I would give it up for it :D
I can get iPad Pro 11 2018/2020 with discount (or iPad Air) and iPhone 12 Pro/Max for the same amount of money the Fold 3 is priced. In fact, that’s what I actually did. 12Pro Max and iPad Pro 11 2018.
7:35 Back Selfie Camera included (nice), yet they still decide to add a small camera at the front killing pixels on the screen...
All I can say, I hate this generation of selfies lovers making this horrible designs still a thing.
People should not buy them so maybe they stop that trending once and for all.
Dude, great review, even thou these new foldable phones are expensive AF, amazing video. Cheers from Serbia! ^^
We made pre-orders for flip. Finally time to buy the foldable. So glad about it.
