A part of the test should have had the Z Flip6 folded like the fold6, as you can do a fair bit from the Flips cover screen now and alot of users do most routine tasks on the flips cover screen
As others have implied, these results tie in with the respective battery sizes, so nothing much to say other than expected…the larger battery, the better battery life with the SD8G3.
You should do a battery comparison test with the same phone in light mode and dark mode so we can finally see if it makes a big difference or not. You could also do one where a phone has bad reception while another has full reception via cellular.
The thing is, despite the very trumpeted vapor chamber, the Flip 6 very much still heats up. Actually is explained by JerryRigEverything that even though the chamber is there it kinda goes nowhere and heat still gets dissipated into the upper part of the phone. This, I'm sure, is still a major factor in the life of the battery and a detriment to it's lifespan in general.
On the other hand, the lower battery does not receive the heat dissipated by the processor and other chipsets, so I believe that the battery's durability is maintained.
I think you guys are totally looking at it wrong. That is huge progress keeping the same battery for multiple generations with better performance that’s a win. Watching on my fold 6. Coming from the S24 Ultra, there is a very noticeable difference in the way i think about battery and charging. However it is not bad for what I get out of the device.
@PhoneBuff While I don't own a Galaxy Z Flip6, I got pretty much the same battery life with low to heavy use with my Galaxy Z Fold5. I tend to use Facebook and RUclips more than any other app on my phone. I flip-flop (no pun intended) between the main screen and cover screen throughout my day. So, I get anywhere between 16 hours to 1 day and 5 hours of battery use out of my Galaxy Z Fold5.
I don’t think people using the fold use only the inside screen. For most quick tasks like seeing a notification or replying to a message, people probably use the smaller outside screen. So realistically, its battery should last longer.
It would be nice if they could list the active time before it reaches 20% or 15% as well, since not everyone lets their phone get to 0% before charging.
Pretty happy with the battery size. Larger battery is useless if not optimise properly. For example Vivo X Fold 3 with 5,500mah battery, which is 25% larger but only give around 15% more battery life. However, the massive downside is the charging speed! Can Samsung at least brings back the 45W charging from Note 10+? The current chraging speed is a joke. The only reason I pick Z Fold 6 over any other chinese foldables is SECURITY. With many verifications, biometric, otp, password manager, planner, personal data, etc in the phone, I feel safer at the hands of Korean company.

I think the Flip phones need to be wider in horizontal length, that way not only can they fit a larger battery but they can also make it an option for people using it to use it horizontally eg play games, if the device looks too fat when folded they can always increase the verticality a bit.
