Hey Erin and John you have the best outdoor channel on RUclips. You and Erin should be receiving a RUclips award for work best outdoor video on RUclips.
John, I’m sure you will enjoy many, many more spectacular journeys….but I’m pretty sure when you’re both old and are asked what was the pinnacle, this is the moment you’ll immediately recall. Man.
I thought your thumbnail might have been some A.I. creation, so dense was the animal population in it. But no... it seems it was the real deal. That is some spectacular footage. I look forward to watching the full video! Cheers from Montreal.
Jon and Erin. Those picture shots with the caribou and the rainbow should be in like a National Geographic magazine or an equivalent Canadian magazine with your narration. Bravo and spectacular. What a great piece of cinematography. Mike from Chicago
Hey you two, Just a quick note about something that may interest you re: the Mowat connection. Not sure if you've been able to take in the new location and complex for the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough yet. I had been lucky enough to be invited to their grand opening earlier this year, and last Friday I was stopping in again to deliver them an order for my artwork. While there, I got a chance to meet their Curator, Jeremy Ward, who was kind enough to take me back into their collection facility and show me Farley Mowat's canoe, and also Gordon Lightfoot's So neat to see that! Anyway, take it in when you can, if you haven't yet. Cheers!
I’ve been following from the start of your channel this is probably the best video to date, I always enjoy the historical information .. Farley Mowat is one of my favourite authors..you really captured the beauty of this country and Jon I love your sense of humour.
This footage is serene, so beautiful, especially the silhouettes with their antlers. Compared to the gigantic caribou herd getting closer and closer to camp, even the rainbow is mediocre. What a special treat.
a truly life changing experience. as a viewer i think about drone footage but that's not a critique by any means. the experience being there and seeing it for the first time it the natural elements must've been magical and i fully support enjoying the moment for what it was. i'm so appreciative of the footage you did take, and for sharing it with the world.
The 22 Day video is one of my favorites y'all have done. So many incredible moments, and this was absolutely tops. Thanks for sharing such a magical moment with all of us!
I still can’t get over the magnificence of this footage and your experience with these amazing creatures! And on your honeymoon no less, couldn’t happen to two finer humans 💕💕
A truly magical spectacle! Your Barrens trip is an epic masterpiece!! Thank you for all your hardwork! Truly blessed that you and Erin share your adventures with us 🖤🖤
I just had the biggest smile on my face as I watched this. What a fantastic experience you had with these animals and I’m so glad you shared it with us.
What an incredible sight to see, and doc. It must have been an unreal feeling in the herds presence and witnessed their ancient migration. Just finished "No Man's River" and really loved rewatching your "Children of the Wind" after reading. It was really cool seeing they places where his story takes place. Looks like winter camping may be pretty good this season. 💚
Amazing! What a special encounter. This has been a dream of mine. Have you seen Rolf Kraikers video of the Beverley herd crossing the Thelon? 100,000 Caribou passed their campsite over a couple of days. This was decades ago.
I have an almost identical video sequence of a sscandinavian reindeer feeding her calf like you have at 3,00 minute. Its shot in northern sweden above the arctic circle 2021 in september. The swedish reindeeer are sedomesticated but really only see people tvice a yearmi
they get gathered in june to check for newborn and brand them and just generally check them. then in late september they get gathered for #harvest". So they are mostly just like wild animals,
I never really noticed them either. I believe they use them to scrape away snow on the ground and get to forage. I imagine they help protect their eyes when they're jousting in the rut too
Always wanted to spend time canoeing summer and experience winter hot tent in canada but God giving me power in prayers had other more important missions to do for humanity. Im too old now i believe to bare those conditions but Jon you made these dreams comes true already. A master that captures your own adventure, wildlife, fishing and that great mystic boreal forest, dying through mans wickedness and greed. Oh well soon, this generation will all witness the End. The few righteous elected, will live free in a restored earth forever ruled by our true living God and Messiah.
Absolutely fantastic. So so cool. And so, I was thinking. OOPS. Yea. My bad. I was just thinking that it would be very interesting if the "herd" could be tracked. Ya know drape some GPS gear over the horns or somehow get a collar on one of these critters. Ya know. Just a thought. Oh well. On and on and on. So nice to see your success. Thank you for sharing all that you do. Just great! 〰✨🌿👍🌿✨〰. New Hampshire.
Watched the entire video, but in section not Boris because of the length. Doing other things, transfixed by it all. You have a talent for the sceneotography . brilliant filming and editing. The outdoor environment, nature you both enjoy, it's just magical. You're so good at what you do, inviting people to try and get that vibe you put across. May popularize it to much ? Canada should be paying the both of you bucket loads $ . Tourism films ain't got shit on what you create. That stag deadeyes whilst taking a leak , brilliant and so funny ❤
My apology to you and Erin really good match same vibe outlook. Nothing is perfect but I with open hand and open heart forever love each other and love the life you both keep doing x
Erin and John got sent a big heart from you. Why thank you ♥️👍. Not just the knowledge you give across. The enthusiasm, the humour and the double switch tall to yourself 😁 . Now this important! The riddles , imagine I'm that stag or bull dead eyeing you. Flummoxed. Lol all the very very best for the the channel. More importantly the relationship you both have just keeps blooming and growing. Upmost respect ♥️. Please give Xander a fisting oh shite sorry fist pump and the the rest . Merry Christmas to you all and the viewers
Wow, this is footage you don't even see in award winning wildlife documentaries.

National Geographic worthy !!!!!They are absolutely majestic ,almost magical creatures !!!!
Moving to Canada just for the wilderness is a life goal.
STILL in awe of this footage. Truly breathtaking... even when viewed on a screen. Just so special.
Simply amazing! In all my years I've never seen massive antlers like that on so many deer. Beautiful rainbow. Photogenic bliss😊❤
Those antlers remind me of Max, the Grinch's dog. Merry Christmas!
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
One of the most beautiful sights in North America, a large herd of Caribou migrating. Thanks for sharing..
John, I’m sure you will enjoy many, many more spectacular journeys….but I’m pretty sure when you’re both old and are asked what was the pinnacle, this is the moment you’ll immediately recall. Man.
Will be tough to top!
What a thrilling experience of a lifetime. You are so lucky!
I thought your thumbnail might have been some A.I. creation, so dense was the animal population in it. But no... it seems it was the real deal. That is some spectacular footage. I look forward to watching the full video! Cheers from Montreal.

Absolutely breathtaking. What an incredible experience. Thank you for sharing.
This is your best episode ever. I can't get enough of the caribou.
That was epic . I was a bit worried for you that they would spook and stampede and not see you guys till they were on top of you . 😮
Lol definitely crossed our minds too
This was your best video, my wife Deb and I watched the entire video. Cheers!
Thank you both!
I still can’t get over the magnificence of this footage and your experience with these amazing creatures! And on your honeymoon no less, couldn’t happen to two finer humans 💕💕

Amazing! What a special encounter. This has been a dream of mine. Have you seen Rolf Kraikers video of the Beverley herd crossing the Thelon? 100,000 Caribou passed their campsite over a couple of days. This was decades ago.
I don't believe I have, and it doesn't come up on YT
@LostLakes Looks like he delisted it. I can share it with you but probably not here.. This is right up your alley!
that would have been absolutely breathtaking! wow!! when i watched the full length video i was blown away by that many in a herd.
Priceless!
And back at the caribous' village, they are saying "2 humans invaded our watering grounds!!!" 😂 LOL awesome video!
😜
Didn't make enough dinner!🤣
What an experience! That's incredible

💚
It gets better every time I watch it!
Wow that's just absolutely unbelievable. Thanks for posting this
I don’t know why I’m so curious to know this but could you smell them? 😂 If so, I can’t imagine it was a pleasant aroma.
Lol surprisingly not...we thought it would smell like a barnyard
You have so much to be proud of with this epic film, just simply amazing 👏 👏 👏 👏
Thanks so much Julie! :)
Can't get enough of this
Outstanding to see, I can only imagine that privilege!
Tell your buddy Zander to beat that footage!! 😂
Wow, what an incredible experience! Those antlers are huge!
Wow ! That has to be awesome in person. I had about 40 wild turkeys walk thru my yard🤣 I think yours rivals mine! Great video.
Please visit Finland with your son (xander). :D

Funny how nature parallels across thousands of miles
Can't imagine what it must be like to be in the middle of such scene. Tis the season, expect emails, letters and LCBO coming your way.
Thanks Bern! 🙏🙏 I believe you said you updated our address but just a reminder :)
Huge antlers!
Eta what are those large fan-shaped plates between the main antlers and running down their snouts? I don't recall seeing them before.
I never really noticed them either. I believe they use them to scrape away snow on the ground and get to forage. I imagine they help protect their eyes when they're jousting in the rut too
Fortunate people y'all are!
Spectacular !!
I've been following since he and Joe Robinet collaborated on a canoe trip.
Amazing! Talk about a bucket list thing to see.
We were stoked when we just saw one. Crazy
That must have been awesome and a little scary at the same time!!
Your channel is better than the Discovery channel or animal planet down here in the states haha
All I can say is WOW!!!!!! What an amazing experience, God's creations never cease to amaze.

What works of art are those antlers!
I haven't made it this far in your main video yet, but this is pretty special.

i just gotta do my part and contribute another 100% viewing engagement.
Thanks y'all!
I wish you would have made a longer video out of this trip
I'm guessing that's sarcasm... But there was a 4-hr version from last month if not
@ Yeah I was just kidding I watched it 😃
@extremechimpout hahah thought so. So hard to tell tone in text
I can never understand how it`s possible there`s enough food supply there for that many large animals . . .
I wanna go!!
We gotta make that happen!
