I’m fairly new on my walk with Jesus . I started with the Bible recap a year ago and hearing her say “ look for the God shot” when she explained to look for gods character and not yourself while reading, it changed my life. Changed the way I read the Bible and sparked such a hunger for god. So grateful for her. She’s a blessing

Nice. The more you read it and understand it, do you find it speaks to YOU? Of course it does. It was written for you and about you! When we fail to see this, the enemy laughs. God did it all for YOU and Jesus paid it all for YOU. If it is nor about YOU, He paid the price for nothing.

I know the word. The story isn't written about me. Can I relate? Of course we can choose the way we read it or interpret the messages.
Can I find peace for myself in the Bible? Of course. Answers about life? Yep! Wisdom from God that can be applied today? Definitely.
It was not written FOR you, about you.
Salvation comes from the way we live our lives, not by how we read a book.
I have been a confessing Christian for years without ever venturing out of the gospels. A year ago, i watched Tara Leigh on a podcast with Candace Bure and heard her say, "Look for God and not yourself" that is when i realized having a relationship with someone means getting to know who they are. I started the bible recap and although i have not finished the bible all the way through, i have read more this last year than i have in my whole life and the lord has been transforming me! I couldn't recommend it more!
My husband is 78 and I am 77. We were both raised in the church, in fact, he was a pastor for 40 yrs. We did the Bible Recap last year and especially for him, it was life-changing!! Thank you for having Tara Leigh on, Allie. I love you both!!!
I used to attend a church that heavily preached the prosperity gospel. The entire Bible every Sunday was all about us (if they even talked about Gods word at all). I grew so resentful and angry because God wasn't answering my prayers exactly how I wanted them answered. I felt God leading me away but the "othering" and the shame that the church put on people who left felt unbearable because I wasn't able to trust in Gods goodness at the time. Simply because I was never taught that He is good unless our prayers are perfectly answered. It wasn't until I started listening to Relatable that my eyes were opened and we found a different church.

Wow! When the speaker said she finished the Bible and she didn’t like God- That resonated so deeply with me. I have had those thoughts before too but I felt so ashamed about it, I could never tell anyone. I’d pray and repent of the thoughts and I spent so much time afraid I wasn’t even saved. Making the habit of digging in the word really didn’t “stick” until about 8 months ago- and it’s been the hardest 8 months of my life. My husband and I are on our 3rd time through the Bible recap and it has been such a game changer for us. It even revealed to us some issues within our old church once we had a better understanding of what the Bible actually says. We’re now in a very healthy church, thankfully. We’ve also made it a weekly “date” to meet together and go through the weekly discussion questions and it’s been such a sweet time for us to connect with each other and with God intentionally.

I HIGHLY recommend her one-year guide to the Bible. I am currently reading the entire Bible for the first time and her guide has been SO helpful to me. I often feel so lost and having her book to teach me what I just read has been so informative. He’s where the joy is!

I’m on day 120 😊 It’s the furthest I’ve ever gone - and I’ve attempted to read the Bible in a year many times. I’ve always loved the Old Testament for some reason. I think I enjoy the narratives most. When I was a kid and my aunt and uncle would bring me to church, I’d read their bibles during the teaching on weeks that we didn’t have Sunday school for whatever reason. So I’ve read Esther and Ruth so many times, just being drawn to the girl names as a young girl, and with those stories being simple narratives (or seeming so at the time). But anyway, I am sooo excited to finish the Bible in a year this time from start to finish .. and then to do it again, year after year 😊

I remember a time when most things were closed on Sundays... I often mention this now about how I miss this and how beautiful of having that time off from everything is so rejuvinating as a family. I wish my children could experience this.
But now we have social media . It’s always open.

I listened to your first interview with TLC and have gone through The Bible Recap almost every year since 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Have invited a ton of friends to do it with me!!
I’ve read through the New Testament multiple times but wanted to get through the entire Bible fully and I started The Bible Recap in December. It has helped me stay consistent with my Bible reading through the parts of the OT I’ve always struggled with, and framing the daily readings as God-centered (where do we see God’s character) vs us centered has helped me understand difficult parts of the OT in meaningful ways. I am grateful for Tara and The Bible Recap! Looking forward to doing this annually and introducing my teens to this Bible reading plan as well.

This is my first time listening to this podcast because of Tara Lee. I'm not against advertising. I understand how it works, but this amount is pretty distracting.
I have a question. I have been hearing that the Bible is not written TO us but FOR us as in this conversation with Tara, and I believe that now. But, what about the phrase I've heard many times that the Bible is God 's "love letter" TO us? Does that still ring true?
