- My first time ever playing DUSK. This is the first episode The Foothills. This game came out in 2018 but is inspired by FPS games of the 90s. It's pretty great I recommend it.

Hell yeah this game looks so damn good, I watched another RUclipsr named Civvie 11(He's hilarious lol) play this and some other games too like Ion Fury(Ion Maiden) which is also amazing! I just started playing it actually a couple days ago it's fantastic. I'm really happy we're getting games like this again!

It's really cool, if you enjoy old school fps then you'll like it. It even has customization such as adjusting the tint to make the game look completely different.

In October you can check Splatterhouse 3D mod for Doom too. It's basically Splatterhouse + Doom. Creepy and fun.
Some talked about Doom when you were playing, but it looks more Quake to me, looks great too
Dusk is less frustrating if you have checkpoint saves throughout the level. Though I know you don't like to make mid-level saves since they're like save states. The later levels in this game would really make you wish you did use saves mid-level. Especially for any instant death moments or crazy parts that require practice. The game would be twice as long having to redo entire levels, and this game has plenty of levels to get through on top of having a huge backlog of games to get to.

This game is friggin awesome. I can't believe I forgot about it. Like 5min in I put it on my wishlist.
EDIT: 0 healed you, Mike. I know counting can be difficult, so just pay extra special close attention next time you smoke a cigar in this game, and you, too, can learn how to tell the difference between increasing numbers and decreasing numbers.

You should give The Messenger a go. You'll love it, it looks and plays like a retro game, quite challenging at times too, plus its full of some good humour.
I found out that in dusk the bar soap is an instant death weapon😄💝

GG Mike. seriously, your aim was ON POINT in this, boss level skills! keyboard and mouse controls? had to be.
damn i wish there was a way to use k&m controls on consoles. especially on games like Crysis Remastered, i recently bought that game on Switch and the difficulty is flat out impossible, and the reason i believe is cause the difficulty was ripped strait from the PC version, which means it was designed with k&m controls in mind, and that makes some FPS games ridiculously hard with a normal controller.
A couple of steam suggestions: Rise of the Triad, Monster Bash, and Heretic: Shadow of the Sepent Riders.

i don't know why so many people hate this guy, i don't get it.
Some people think that Mike sometimes comes off as arrogant, like for example one time in the Mega Man 2 video on "James & Mike Mondays" he had a long monologue about how his fans had misinterpreted what he meant about Mega Man changing suits "in the game world" and mocked them for it.
I also think that he once posted a picture of his dick next to a tape measure on some community in order to "prove" that it was 10 inches long, which was a kinda weird thing to do.

@@mikematei Hmmm, I'd I say I like them equally. Nioh 2 isn't drastically different from the first, but they made little adjustments here and there, like new weapons etc, new guardian spirit system, to keep it fresh for me.
Look a 2min video is like a 2min fark. It’s exciting and bang for buck, but if that’s all a person was to ever get, damn I feel for their soul.

Another excellent retro shooter worth your time is Project Warlock-- takes plenty of inspiration from Heretic, Hexen, Blood, Doom, Wolfenstein and the like. Great fun.

Looks like a quake clone
After 25 + years of playing Quake, I disagree.
Dusk looks like many games of the era packed into one. Dusk is graphically closer to Blood than Quake IMO, but of course with updated graphics. Not that Blood is the best comparison, but still closer than Quake.
Quake has a very specific sound/soundtrack, color scheme , look & indoor corridor claustrophobic feel that does not compare to Dusk.
I didn't watch the whole stream yet, but I can tell you episode 2 mostly sucks ass and there are only 2 stages that are actually cool. And Arnold boss.
Chapter 3 is best part of this game, because there is less horseshit walking in the dark without flashlight and more shooting and sword and crossbow become main weapons instead of secrets. Overall though, game is pretty average and Ultrakill and Amid Evil are thousand times better.
Tip for the game: soap is OP weapon and when thrown, it kills every enemy in one hit.
