Sadly the SIM reader is soldered onto the board. You have to do some careful microsolderings to insert the dual reader. I wish Apple would have kept the connector.
I just did this a few days ago, and that was after watching this video. Works seamlessly! Was an easy installation, no problems at all. Works just as any dual sim Samsung phone. Would definitely recommend it if you’re an Apple person with two numbers but no e-sim provision from your network carrier.
Found your video while looking for a nano sim card solution for the USA version of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Maybe your next hack, you can add the physical sim card back into the USA version of the 14's. Or maybe your company can make a Bluetooth sim card adapter case like the ones they used to have for the iPhone 6 - 8 models

yeah, that's somehow true. the original iPhone waterproof is best. Once you open the screen or do some motherboard repair within, there is not a really efficient way to get the as same good waterproof as original iPhone.
There is another solution for Xs Max. For Xs Max, you need also to Modify the motherboard, and replace the SIM reader, so relatively more complicated than XR.
