- All the trailers and gameplay footage of the unreleased reboot / sequel of the RTS series Command & Conquer.
Wikipedia: The first official announcement of a new Command & Conquer game in development, came in February 2011 when Electronic Arts announced the formation of a new studio known as Victory Games. In the studios' first Q&A session with the official Command & Conquer blog, openly announced that they were developing a new title in the Command & Conquer series with the studios' general focus being on the future of the series. The new studio consisted of members from the previous EA Los Angeles development team as well as some new staff members. Its general manager was Jon Van Caneghem from Trion Worlds.
The game's formal announcement was then teased as a game from the "next big BioWare franchise" and was due for a reveal at the 2011 Spike Video Game Awards. The game was then speculated to be either a new game from defunct studio, Pandemic's Mercenaries series, or a new game from the Command & Conquer series, which turned out to be an accurate analysis. Subsequently, more rumors began to indicate that the game was indeed a Command & Conquer game called, Command & Conquer: Alliances due to a series of domain registrations by EA for a game of that name, though this turned out to be a side project by Phenomic, called Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances. The game was finally formally unveiled as Command & Conquer: Generals 2 on December 10, 2011 at the 2011 Spike Video Game Awards as a title developed by what would become BioWare Victory. However, in November 2012, the BioWare label was dropped and the studio was renamed to its former name Victory Games.
On August 15, 2012, it was announced that Generals 2 would be repurposed to a free-to-play game known as simply Command & Conquer. The official website also released a blog entry that said that the Command & Conquer: Generals 2 game would be called Command & Conquer. The content which has been built for Generals 2 would be delivered into the new C&C game.
Following the negative reaction from series fans that Command & Conquer would not have a single-player campaign, EA President Frank Gibeau stated that a single-player storyline would still be a possibility. "The beauty of free-to-play is that we can adjust and adapt to what we're hearing as opposed to, 'I'm sorry, it's two months from ship and it is what it is.' It's a very different model because you don't have to build as much. You build in response to your audience." It was later revealed that the game would have a single-player campaign.
From then on, news of the upcoming game was relatively quiet. In mid-December 2012 Victory Games hosted a C&C Community Summit where select members were invited and given the chance to play the game and share feedback with the developers. It was later on that Victory Games announced the third faction as the Asian-Pacific Alliance. In May EA released a development video diary stating the developers' intention to constantly improve on the final product based on the players' feedback. At E3 2013, EA released a new trailer of the game as well as the beta going live in the summer. On August 5, 2013, a second development video diary was released showing the design process of modifying the GLA Bomb Truck unit from Command & Conquer: Generals into the GLA Nuke Truck. Victory Games also released wallpapers of the generals of each faction, starting with the APA generals and later the EU and GLA within a few days of each other.
Both EA and Victory Games stated that Command and Conquer would be showcased at Cologne's Gamescom 2013. In addition to the press conference, a trailer revealed that campaign missions were to be made available in 2014. The game has been canceled as of October 29, 2013 due to negative fan feedback over an economy-based, multiplayer experience. The cancellation statement released by the company cited multiplayer for Command & Conquer being its downfall.

Dallas Yeah EA broke players dreams to play it they broked it. My first time heard a game developers can do even such things they build half way the game end up giving it up, they can’t afford to be a good game developers just like others games developers.
I heard they canned it because EA wanted it to be f2p games, but the dev refused or somewhere along that lines.
If you dont know how disastrous f2p rts can be, play a game called War Commander by Kixeye, balance is fucked and it's all about chasing for the next super weapon, opportunities for mtx
As someone who played the pre-alpha, I'm glad it was cancelled. It wasn't anything special and the direction they were taking the game would've just pissed off all the fans yet again. Be happy you never got to play it.

The poor guy has to play 3 RTS because he refuses to pay a goddamn cent which I commend him for that. No, because it wasn't enough online focus to them where they can't cut the singleplayer since facing AI is a big part of the game and so they can't add MTX!

This was actually an amazing game! I had the chance to play the beta / Alpha and it really felt like a c&c game.

Seriously! I have brought and played all C&Cs since the very first release.
You have made the wrong decision to cancel the game.
EA canceled it cuz test group of players disliked their project. Ea like always focused on microtransactions in Generals 2 and Moba aspects, same thing with Warhammer 40000 DoW 3(but without microtransactions and with big NonLore gameplay mechanics)
If you ever played the game you would know it was really good it was canceled.
It REALLY had potential. But it really had some issues due to the fact it was facing towards competitive gaming so it had to adhere to "perfect balance" issues.
Personally i had 2 big issues with the game. Buildings felt like paper houses the same for units. and there was no Airfields.
And there was big signs of grinding in sight. similar to BE in Leauge and DLC in other games.
I Refuse to use time to grind in any game anymore. i also don't mind paying for them.
Cant someone continue on this via crowdfunding or anything? Zero hour was my favourite

I remember watching the trailer as a younger person and being so excited, as Generals was one of my favorite games at the time. I was pretty bummed when it was cancelled

On the other hand, you got EA working with Petroglyph, former Westwood Studios devs for the remasters of the first five C&C games, and it's looking quite promising now. They're also trying everything they can to win the fans back, establishing a Community Council and all. Y'all should probably check RA2 website, or the C&C community Reddit thread.

Watching the whole of this video was too hard for me, honestly the team behind Gen2 showed so much potential and content done.
Knowing this childhood franchise was cancelled years ago just makes it hard to bear.
I just played CNC generals for the first time and came here only to find out that it was cancelled. This is devastating.

I was also saying it was crap. It only looks nice. In reality it didn’t feel good, Generals felt super lame, it was micro transaction heavy in testing.. also way to online focused and not much to single player stuff. It would of flipped and died had they released it. It was very beautiful visually though for sure.
You say that like if EA would listen to fans... But anyway, I hope they at least remaster the Generals and Zero hour now, I didn't like so much the other ones, the best for me is the Zero and I still hope someday a Generals look like will be released idk

@@RUSTY93 Tib Dawn and Red Alert are being remastered as a pack using the original source code, Frank is also remastering all the songs and has literally reverse engineered lost tracks that were cut from the games using his old equipment and THEN remastering the reverse engineered versions as well.

generals and zero hour were awesome games, such a shame EA cancelled this game. Really hope some other developer makes a good RTS game like this one.
I still play Generals most nights, now I play on my new 14” MacBook Pro and I still love this game so much, this sequel looks amazing and I wish so much someone would release it
this shit is so depressing to watch, to forget its cancelled for a minute and get lost in the trailer and then look at the video title and see cancelled again
I was in the closed pre-alpha. It was obvious then that very few people were going to be happy with how the game ended up, maps and gameplay were not fun, and it looked set to be riddled with mtx. They could have salvaged something from the game with the existing assets, I thought, but it would have required them to really change the direction of the game completely.

I hope after RA1 and Tiberian Dawn remaster we get more good c&c titles. I love this series so much especially the singleplayer campaigns in it!

Well now that we've got the C&C remastered collection. Hopefully it will be a sign of things to come as the amount of love and effort that went into it is immeasurable though having Petroglyph (Former westwood employees) helping was undoubtedly the icing on the cake. On another note EA did at least show they can make good C&C games without Westwoods involvement as proven with Generals and Command and Conquer 3. However...... C&C4 and everything right after was a total shambles and put the future of C&C in doubt especially with crappy games that merely used the title as a cash grab. I would love to see Generals II revived some time and hopefully EA can find the right developers for it or better yet let these guys do it. There's no denying that they cared and had passion for it. EA should never have stopped them.

Well, EA is too stupid to realized that! They simply don't understand what this means to most of us from Red Alert 2 to Zero Hour. That is why I play StarCraft 2 rather playing this mod using Red Alert 3 engine.
I wish Zero Hour had a graphics and technology like that.

Played in CBT. Dynamic, pretty balanced for it's state. Devs always was upset about free-to-play and asked about standard payment game right before closing.
I want a generals 2 but I am not sure if this one would had been that good. I hope they come back to the project, more faithful to the original game, visually too nad with better graphics and less cartoony, more cinamtic nad move like. I like the realistic approach of CnC classics and generals :)

It has been more than a year since I started my boycott upon EA, Battlefield 5? Apex Legends? Anthem? Star Wars Jedi Fallen Orden? I got my Modern Warfare with Battle Pass! I will never ever buy a Titanfall again, I got Mechwarrior 5 into my to-buy list and as for sport games, Konami is the order of the day!
Oh, and for the Remaster series, no, you are not getting a single penny, I am sticking to the mods of the old games, I got enough Mental Omega, One Vision and Remix to run for years to come and if I wish to spend my money it will be in strategy it will go to Total Warhammer DLCs and expansions and Iron Harvest.

Remaster (also digital remastering and digitally remastered) refers to changing the quality of the sound or of the image, or both, of previously created recordings, either audiophonic, cinematic, or videographic.
So if they used the engine in this one, which is a graphical component, then that would technically make it a remaster. All I'm saying is, they should of used this engine for the graphics. The current one looks like they used an engine from 2001. C&C generals which was released in 2003 still looks better.
If Halo got some amazing re-masters, then why can't C&C.

Because C&C "remastered" the first C&C series of Tiberian Dawn. The dev itself said we try our best not to remake the game in different feels and gameplay and keep it on 2D.
@@supraed9026 I understand, I guess keeping the 2D component works for that particular game. Myself and thousands of others who grew up with C&C would love to see a new version of it today with new amazing graphics like halo wars etc.
If they ever decide to remaster generals, hopefully they add this engine or a newer version as its 3D, then maybe that would suffice... I still think a new C&C (which is based like generals but not tiberium storyline) based in todays time with countries like EU, USA + allies, Russian Federation, Republic of China, Some middle east nations and north korea would be amazing. Keep the game play the same, build bases, farm for money either by air drops or harvesting or whatever

To be honest that "plastic toy" style doesn't work for Generals. Red Alert or C&C - yes, but Generals - no. I liked Generals for it's realistic style and I think it is good that this game wasn't released as shown.

I would love this Command & conquer is the only game in my family that everyone loves my sister, dad and even mother is willing to play it when ever and having a more to date version of the game would have been so fun

I remember me and my friends were happy about this game because we have played Red Alert 2 and Generals. Then it got cancelled so we said go to hell EA. We still play those 2 games until now.

I wish they'd just given what they had so far to the community. A team would have assembled and been able to finish it, there are modding teams out there now that are as good as if not better in certain cases than mainstream development studios. This could have honestly been done by now and we could all have been playing it ;(
